“Verlee and her family provided a safe and friendly home for our Livie. This was our first time boarding our puppy and Verlee turned a stressful drop off into a positive one. The daily updates and pictures allowed us to see that Livie was enjoying her stay and having fun! We will definitely be using Verlee for future boarding. Thank you so much!”

“Excellent and very kind people! Received daily updates and pictures. Maya looked like she had a blast and was very well cared for. Will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Radka & James are always the best! They welcomed both of our goldens into their family and even had a birthday celebration for one of them! They send countless photos and videos each day, too.”

“Adam was great with Poppy. He’s a gentle soul who clearly loves animals. However, when his kids were there overnight, we learned that Poppy isn’t comfortable with younger kids. Adam made it work for the brief period the kids were around Poppy, but it’s not realistic to need to separate young kids in the home and the visiting dog. Sadly we’re still looking for a sitter.”

“Pei and Will took amazing care of Duke! They sent us many pictures and videos and were so kind and caring. Duke is a happy-go-lucky golden retriever but for the first time ever he was sad when he came home because he missed them and their sweet dog Ivy so much. We will definitely hook again in the future!”

“Knowing that Luna was safe, well cared for, AND happy (she had a huge smile in every picture Paula sent us) gave us peace of mind and we therefore enjoyed our 8 day vacation so much more! Thank you Paula!”

“Julie was great! She was able to board our dog last minute and had a bunch of items on hand so we didn't have to bring a ton. She was very responsive and sent lots of pictures. She also gave some good advice afterwards to help with boarding next time”

“Maddie was absolutely amazing with our puppy! She kept us updated throughout our trip with messages and pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that she genuinely cared for him and treated him like her own. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for puppy, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Maddie to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter, and we will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Gulmira requested a meet and greet a few days before since this was our first time using Rover. All went well and we relaxed while we went to a wonderful wedding. Thank you so much we would definitely do this again.”

“Jasmine was awesome with my doggie babies!! My Wally was very anxious and she done very well with him! I would recommend her to anyone! She sent me updates and pics every day!!! Loved her! My babies looked happy!”

“Christina and her family took excellent care of my 2 dogs. We really appreciated the daily text and pictures. It gives you peace of mind to know that they are being taken care of . I would definitely leave my pups in her care every time, as long as she continues.”

“Dana did a great job of watching our little bichon, Oscar, who got a lot of personalized attention and was welcomed into their family life just like their own dog (who is also super cute and who Oscar got along with great). I would happily book with Dana again.”

“Marvin was an amazing sitter for Kuna! He kept me consistently updated with messages and photos, which really gave me peace of mind while I was away. Kuna was well cared for and happy, and it was clear he was comfortable the entire time. I truly appreciated the communication and attention Marvin provided. I would absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

About: Lifelong dog and cat owner based out of Farmville. I currently have two six year old labs and two cats. All of my pets are highly socialized with other dogs. I have experience in sitting dogs ranging in size from miniature schnauzers to Great Pyrenees. My two labs are both male and littermates, so I also have lots of experience in keeping the peace! I have a large fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run and play. If you’d like any further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Dogs are out for an hour in the morning, an hour at lunch, and until dark after work (I will usually sit with them while they play or throw rope/ball). The cats make sure our household stays on a strict 7AM-7PM feeding schedule with little room for error before complaints are issued. As mentioned above, I have a large fenced in backyard where your dog will have plenty of space to move around. I have 2 6’x6’ kennels back there as well in case anyone needs a time out. I have crates of every size for guest dogs when I am not home and they stay in a separate area from my pets to further mitigate any issues that could come up. We have about 15 toys/ropes around the house/yard to choose from and never have any disputes. I am not responsible if your dog comes home to you fatter or more spoiled.
“Our dog Megumi had a phenomenal time at Cailey's! Cailey was easy to communicate with, both for planning our dog's stay and for keeping us up-to-date during the stay. She took excellent care of Megumi, and our Velcro dog was so cozy and at ease when it came time for pick-up that I think she wouldn't have minded even more time hanging out there lol. 10/10; recommend without reservations and would now consider her our go-to anytime the grandparents can't dogsit their granddog.”

“Lara was so great to work with! She took care of our Winnie like she was part of their family and kept us updated with lots of pictures throughout her stay. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Alison and her family took care of my young puppy and really treated him like a member of their family. She provided regular updates with photos and videos and made us feel at ease while we were on vacation. She provided great socialization. I highly recommend and would love to use her again in the future.”

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
