“This was our second time trusting Lucky with our dog, Asha, and once again, we couldn't be happier! Lucky is super responsive to requests and always takes great care of Asha. We really appreciate the regular updates too. Asha seems to have a fantastic time with Lucky; she's always in such a positive mood when we pick her up. We love that she gets plenty of space to run around and exercise in the backyard. We'll definitely be booking Lucky again for our next trip!”

“Adam was great with Poppy. He’s a gentle soul who clearly loves animals. However, when his kids were there overnight, we learned that Poppy isn’t comfortable with younger kids. Adam made it work for the brief period the kids were around Poppy, but it’s not realistic to need to separate young kids in the home and the visiting dog. Sadly we’re still looking for a sitter.”

“Radka and James rock!! They are excellent and making my two divas (Dog and Wife) comfortable!!!!! LOL!!! They go over and beyond to ensure Bella is taking care of.”

“I can't say enough great things about both of my pups experience w/ Paula. I was so nervous leaving my Jack w/ anyone, as he is quite the bundle of energy. My older sweet girl (Shephard mix) can be timid and nervous, especially around other dogs. They both took to Paula instantly and came home safe, smiling, and exhausted from all the exercise they had between Paula's backyard setup and their pack of playmates. Paula is a great communicator, and sent plenty of pictures and updates so that I never had to worry about how they were doing. This stay allowed me to travel to my daughter on very short notice, and I will be reaching out to Paula first for any travel or boarding needs in the future.”

“They are such a caring and loving couple. I don’t have to worry about Rosie at all while out of town because I know they will treat her as one of their own. It’s also great that they have a sweet dog and cats that are so welcoming to Rosie.”

“Our dogs had a terrific time with Julie and her dogs. We appreciate being able to enjoy our travels knowing our pups are cared for in a loving home. We will gladly book with Julie again!”

“Maggie was absolutely amazing with Rex this weekend! From the very beginning, she was professional and organized, even taking the time to do a meet-and-greet beforehand, which gave us so much peace of mind. Throughout his stay, she kept us updated with great communication and sent plenty of photos, which we really appreciated. Rex came home happy, clean, and clearly well cared for. It was obvious he received lots of love and attention while he was with her. Maggie was truly a pleasure to work with, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would recommend her 1,000,000% to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and professional to watch their pet. We will absolutely be using her again! 🐾❤️”
“Gulmira was so great with our shy girl Sophie! She sent plenty of updates and was very communicative, helping us feel very comfortable leaving Sophie there for the first time! It’s clear Sophie was loved so much while she was there too and she was also exercised very well, got plenty of walks and time to explore, and made some doggy friends along the way. We are so pleased with the stay and could not recommend Gulmira more! She’s definitely a great choice if you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares and is kind and patient with animals.”

“My big boy had the pleasure of staying with Furry Friends Academy over the weekend as I had to travel out of town for family business! Let me say I was very hesitant about using Rover but was in a bind so I did and I’m so glad I did! My big boy had the best time of his life! He got to socialize with other people, dogs and became really good friends with another GSD! I got so many updated pictures it was as if he was with me! Then I literally just got these picture they took of him! I must say I am beyond impressed with the level of care and love he got! If you are in need of a pet sitter I can recommend them! #germanshepherdpuppy”

“By far the best rover experience so far. Not only did Christina and her family take our dog, Truffle, last minute but they treated him like their own. With a big fenced in backyard and numerous walks around the neighborhood, Truffle had a blast. She sent consistent communications on how Truffle was doing as well as making sure her kiddos respected and knew how to handle a bigger dog. Above and beyond, would easily recommend Christina!”
About: I've had dogs since I can remember. My fiancé watched dogs in the past with rover and I would always help. Take the dogs to the park on my days off, play outside, and train them when needed. I am currently on veterans disability so I can focus my whole day to your furry friend. No worry about being stuck in all day. I have 5 acres of yard for them to play on. I have lots of space if needed, room for crates, room outside. Plenty of space so your furry friend won't feel trapped. My animals mind their own.
“Dana has been truly wonderful to me and my dog. She is very responsive, and a life saver.. Especially when I needed her services at such a short time notice. My dog can be pretty energetic at times, but Dana IS the "Dog Whisperer" lol. I will definitely use her services again in the near future!”

“I was in a bind. My friend couldn’t watch my dog for a planned trip very last minute. Gina and Christopher saved my vacation. It was so difficult to leave my doggie behind but Gina kept in touch consistently. My furbaby did great and was in awesome, loving hands!”

“Our pups Gracie and Kai had the pleasure of Jayla’s care this weekend. They loved her and it showed them and us that Jayla is a kind, exemplary and loving dog sitter. She was beyond great…exceptional. We received many quality photos of them through their stay in Virginia. We will be on the lookout for opportunities to have her watch them the next time we are visiting family in Richmond. Thank you Jayla for giving us peace of mind in knowing our girls were in great hands!”

“Marvin responded very quickly for a last minute request and was able to take care of my bully. He was communicative sent great pictures and gave him great walks. My guy came home happy. It was assuring to know he was still taken care of. 10/10 highly recommend”

About: Lifelong dog and cat owner based out of Farmville. I currently have two six year old labs and two cats. All of my pets are highly socialized with other dogs. I have experience in sitting dogs ranging in size from miniature schnauzers to Great Pyrenees. My two labs are both male and littermates, so I also have lots of experience in keeping the peace! I have a large fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run and play. If you’d like any further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Dogs are out for an hour in the morning, an hour at lunch, and until dark after work (I will usually sit with them while they play or throw rope/ball). The cats make sure our household stays on a strict 7AM-7PM feeding schedule with little room for error before complaints are issued. As mentioned above, I have a large fenced in backyard where your dog will have plenty of space to move around. I have 2 6’x6’ kennels back there as well in case anyone needs a time out. I have crates of every size for guest dogs when I am not home and they stay in a separate area from my pets to further mitigate any issues that could come up. We have about 15 toys/ropes around the house/yard to choose from and never have any disputes. I am not responsible if your dog comes home to you fatter or more spoiled.
“I recently used the Valerie to watch our pup and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Valerie was incredibly attentive to my dog's needs and provided a loving and safe environment. Communication was top-notch with regular updates and adorable pictures to ease my worries. My pup was well taken care of and I felt completely at ease during her first time away. I highly recommend Valerie caring for your dog for her professionalism and genuine care for pets."”

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
