About: Hi! My name is Madeja, and I honestly can’t imagine a full, happy life without pets. Animals have always been a huge part of my world, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I’ve worked in education and the nonprofit sector since 2015, so patience, responsibility, structure, and clear communication are a big part of who I am. I bring that same care and attentiveness to every pet I look after. I’ve had pets my entire life, starting with my first dog, Gin Gin, a Shih Tzu, and my second dog, Biggie Smalls, a toy poodle. I have experience with a variety of animals, including dogs and cats, horses and livestock, rodents and reptiles, and everything from basic grooming including nail trims and baths to basic behavior training. (See safety section for further details) I have experience with basic first aid. I have pretty much free and short notice availability, thought I limit bookings on WEDNESDAYS and SUNDAYS as my days off. I have a whole zoo worth of pets and need to stop by my own house throughout the day, so any house sitting will be based on regular visits. I have reliable transportation and excellent driving skills in case of needing to transport. My vehicle has a crash tested seat belt and I have a few crash tested harnesses if you do not have one, though providing your own sized for your dog is preferred. I will not provide transport for animals other than cats or dogs and cats and small dogs must be tolerant of being crated for the ride. I am great at working with your schedule with at least 2 hours notice, but Rover does not allow easy schedule changes. If you need to reduce your visits, CANCEL the booking and REBOOK with your new dates, as once Rover confirms your booking it won’t let you reduce the current rate. In your home, I offer basic cleaning services and can ensure any messes get cleaned. I can meet many varied needs and am meticulous with following your house rules for your pets. I do not offer boarding or allow client pets at my home. I will not provide food or other consumables, though I will confirm what treats your pets can have because all good pets deserve treats. I provide basic behavior assistance such as teaching your dog that jumping on people is inappropriate, basic tricks (sit, down, paw), leash manners, but I DO NOT OFFER PAID TRAINING. I am not a certified trainer in any capacity, though I have trained many of my own animals (including rats and cats!)

New to Rover, but would treat your four legged best friend like it was my own pet! I am new to the Opelika area and between jobs. Currently, I have lots of flexibility with my schedule and can make any day of the week work. I do have two dogs of my own at home, that I would need to make sure are taken care of , but currently can make any day or time of day work for your animals schedule. I will gladly follow any rules or guidelines you have set for your fur baby so they can continue their routine when you are not home. If they need to go on walks, or just play in the backyard!

-Your pet will have 24/7 supervision and company, if an emergency arises on my end I will immediately reach out to you and let you know, I will never leave your dog unattended because I would not want someone to do it my dog, therefore I always treat visitors with the same respect. -My dog Moxie is seen and treated like one of my kids and yours will be to while under my care! -I will keep in contact at all times and update you on their visit w/photos. -I am a professional dog trainer who does boarding on the side. What this means is that your dogs will have the best care in the area when it comes to their safety and comfort. About: I’ve been loving and caring for dogs since I was young, and am currently raising my own three: Jax, Chihiro, & Delta. About: I’ve been asked to pet sit for a variety of pets over the years. Anywhere from cats and dogs to bearded dragons and horses! I’m a quick learner and can adapt just as fast to match whatever needs are required. I also own two mixed dogs and an orange tabby cat myself.
