“Abi was amazing with Tater! Everything went perfect from the pre-visit, drop off, stay and pick up. Abi sent updates and pictures every day and throughout the day. We never had to reach out and ask how Tater was doing. We had to ask to extend Taters stay due to our flight being cancelled and rebooked. Abi was super flexible and allowed us to extend our stay. Tater was happy and relaxed when we picked her up from Abi. This was such a great experience! We will definitely be rebooking with Abi the next time we need a sitter for Tater.”

“Grace is AMAZING! She has a very sweet personality and made me and our dog feel right at home. This was Gideon’s first time to stay in someone else’s home. Grace sent us pictures while we were away, and made sure he was walked. I could not say enough good things about her and highly recommend her to any dog parent looking for someone to take care of their dog when they are away.”

“We were first time Rover users and Beth was super accommodating and patient with our many questions. Her little dog Tupac got along well with our dog, helping with the transition. Beth does a great job of communicating. She sent daily updates and photos so that we could see how Josie was doing. Beth is very good. Highly recommend.”

“Ryo was fantastic with our Beagle, Maple. He was incredibly patient and kind and made our dog feel right at home. We would love to work with him again in the future!”

“Maria is an amazing sitter and I will be referring all my friends to her. She always makes gays very happy! He is always in a great mood when I drop him off and happy when I pick him up. And when I am away she updates me daily.”

“Christina is wonderful! She did an amazing job taking care of my cat Rufus. She went above and beyond to make sure he had everything he needed. She is communicative and a fantastic sitter.”

“Ebony was wonderful with my big guy. It was his first time having a sleepover with a sitter and I am beyond grateful for her patience with him. As well as with me and I would recommend her every time.”

“Reservé con Nelson el cuidado de mis mascotas por 7 días, realmente hizo un excelente trabajo, Kira y Linda fueron acogidas como suyas. Todos los días recibía fotos y vídeos de ambas donde se mostraban alegres. Gracias Nelson sin dudas volvería a contratarte para que cuides de mis mascotas.”

“Sharon took very good care of my dog Bear for the week I was gone and Wesley was a great friend for her as well. She is very understanding and flexible when I got delayed due to a snowstorm. I can’t recommend her enough as someone who will take care of your fur babies as her own and leave you with no worries!”

“Our medium-sized, older dog has stayed with Rachel a couple times while we are out-of-town and always enjoys her “vacation” too. Rachel communicates frequently with pictures and video. Highly recommend.”

“Melody was awesome! We were a little nervous since Goose had not been around other dogs since we’ve had him. He lived it there. She was great with him. Would definitely book again!”

“Erin and George have an awesome set up and are great sitters. My two teenage pups had a blast playing outside and getting 1:1 attention. I’d highly recommend!!!”

“Carla was very accessible and accommodating. She sent frequent updates during our vacation, and genuinely liked spending time with our dog. She also has a great dog and a great family, and we will contact her the next time we go out of town.”
“Kirsten is such a wonderful dog mom and dog sitter! This is the second time Trudy has stayed with them, and she has been the happiest dog after each visit. Even after dropping her off for only one night (less than 24 hours) she included an update picture!”

“Ciara is awesome! She started watching Hudson after his sister passed. She makes sure to walk him and give him his exercise. She also sends a lot of pictures so you feel more at ease about leaving your dog. Hudson loves Ciara and loves to snuggle with her. She has taken extra special care of him and shows him lots of attention”

“Bennae was very accommodating and kind. Chico returned home with the same mannerisms he left with. I will definitely be using Bennae again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter. Great experience”

“we were gone for three days to a family reunion. My lab Zion had never stayed with anyone other than my niece. I was really worried about using Rover, however, Mariah was absolutely excellent! She took great care of Zion and gave me regular updates! I will use Rover again!!”

“My maltese, Lily, stayed with Julie and her son. They were wonderful in every way! She sent me daily texts and cared for her like she would her own. Excellent experience! Highly recommend!!!!”

About: I worked in an overnight pet facility called Pet Station Country Club for close to a year as a part of the overnight team. From around 7pm to 6am I would have personal watch of dozens of pets including cats and dogs, and was in charge of giving them medications and potty breaks. I am also Pet Tech CPR and First Aid certified, so I can give medical attention to your pet in an emergency. I have grown up around all kinds of cats, dogs, rabbits and chickens, and love pets! I am a full time student undergoing my junior year at University of Louisville, but am free multiple times during the day to check in on pets as I live within 5 minutes of campus. My evenings are free, and I have no prior commitments. The townhome I stay in has a fenced in yard and is incredibly close to University's campus, meaning it is a safe environment for walks and care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Crandall home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Crandall.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Crandall sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
