About: I am a lifelong rescuer of dogs and cats...I have raised puppies, adopted senior dogs, and adopted six dogs from shelters in the last 25 years. Most of my dogs and I had basic training classes together. I love walking dogs, playing with them, and caring for them in general...and i am excellent at bathing and medicating pups of all ages....even the reluctant ones! I like to be outdoors, so I am happy to walk and play with the dogs in my care outside at least 3 times a day.. I work from home, so I am generally available, weekdays and weekends. I am flexible about scheduling, and I welcome long term stays. I am also happy to accept last minute requests. I own my home...I don't have a fenced yard, but will walk my dog guests frequently, as i do like to be outdoors...I enjoy having dogs in my home, and spending lots of time with them. They are welcome on the furniture and to sleep on the bed..

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and family members dogs growing up. My family loves to take care of dogs. We will care for your dog like we would our own. I have 4 kids(1-16) so the dog must be good with small children. I do work during the week. Someone is home during the summer and school breaks. We are available most weekends and can try to accommodate your pets needs! My husband and I both work in the school system so we are reliable and good people :) We live in a quiet neighborhood. I have two levels of our house and the dog is welcome to the entire house. We love to go on walks!

About: I am just starting to my fourth career, playing with your companion. I recently retired from teaching sustainable development at UAlbany. I now spend my days outside with hairy friend Herman. I picked up my first stray, Bandit, at 9. I have had a at least one dog since then, I am now 63. All from shelters or strays. I also did doggie foster care too. Known to be gentle and friend of the furry ones. I start each day with a morning meander across the 25 acres on a dead end road. Your companion will be well exercised, loved and cared for as long as they get along with my 14 year old hairy friend Herman, who lets cats eat from his dishes. He runs the place when it comes to house rules. He does not have viscous bone in his body. After three careers and global travel I am recently retired. My days are spent gardening, walking, sitting on the porch, listening to music, etc. I am rarely gone more than a few hours as Herman, my four legged friend, needs special care at 14 years old. I am typically up before dawn, no dog or alarm necessary. My day typically begins with me waking predawn and greeting the new day with my hound Herman on the 25 acres we cohabitate. Most is abandoned agriculture returning to forest for 35 plus years that is bisected by a small babbling brook. Breakfast is then served before returning outside. In climate weather I am outside more than 70% of my day outside. At 14 he chooses to stay in sometimes. Your companion will be free to make their own choice too. My life ambition is to nurture life. I have cared for pets since I was born as my family had cats. There is a fenced area that includes four shaded area. There will be plenty of water, including a baby pool for play as well as sprinklers. This area is shares two fences lines with my garden, has direct access to a walk out basement, and is fully visible from my porch. The dogs will have near 24/7 personal attention and care. I live sustainably. There are no chemicals in my lawn or garden. I have an enclosed porch that in the summer is open air, but no steps to escape. Only with your permission would I walk a guest off leash. Before walking them off leash I will need feel 100% confident they respond to command when other distractions are present. Again with your permission I would take your friend to a fenced in dog park visit as a trial run. Herman, my housemate, is a happy healthy 14 year old he is my best reference. He also has final word on all guest of all species. About an 1/2 acre is fenced with direct access from the house through the basement door. It includes shaded doggie lounges, a baby pool in the summer, toys galore, and lots of attention as the space is adjacent to my garden and the covered porch. It has the capacity to be divided if unruly dog needs to be isolated or there are little ones that just need time away from the bigger ones. Indoors, dogs are free to roam in the basement and first floor. If they are cage trained I can accommodate that. The two beds are off limits. To prevent misunderstanding with bed loving dogs I will keep my guest room. Both the porch and the living room couches are fine. Little ones may use chairs too. The house is really set up for Herman’s comfort and safety. The 32x10 covered front porch is a favorite of Herman and all his visiting friends. Your hairy friend will be delighted by this feature too. One more thing, the hardwood floors are currently covered in rubber “yoga mats” as Herman can not cope with slippery floors. There are also many large dog beds that Herman is happy to share. Opps, where are our manners; welcome to our slice of Paradise!😊

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats all my life. In the past 8 years I have lived in CO during that time, I have been through pain and loss. Shortly after moving our dog was diagnosed with bone cancer and then our cat with Heart/Kidney disease. I have experience with caring for sick animals (dogs and cats) - giving medication, subcutaneous fluids, frequent bathroom breaks/issues, also first hand experience with separation anxiety I have currently moved back to my home in the Finger Lakes of New York! I currently work remotely, and plan on continuing this. I have open availability. For Drop off or pick up my hours are between 8am - 8pm. I am also available most weekends! I want any pet at my home feel safe secure and happy. I love to curl up with pets, watch a good show. Or go out into the yard and play games. I also would with permission from the pet parents to go on long walks. I miss having fuzzies and would give them all my heart and soul.

About: I've had dogs my entire life from puppies to rescues! I've also been a grooming salon manager in Ithaca for 7 years. I've cared for many different breeds, ages, temperaments, and quirks all dogs have and I love them all the same. I'm now a stay at home mom missing my daily dog visits! I have two dogs of my own Luke and Yoda. Luke is a 6 year old lab grey hound mix around 35 lbs. He is very loving and playful. Yoda is a 5 year old miniature fox terrier mix who has unlimited energy and is the sweetest snuggler. I'm willing to bathe and groom but it just depends on your dogs hair and size because I do not have a grooming area set up yet in my home, but I'm willing to talk about it! I am home all day with my baby and two dogs of my own so I can give the same care to some extra dogs! I treat every dog as if they are my own. I have lots of extra blankets to make sure they have there own space (i do recommend to bring some of there stuff like blankets, beds, and toys to make them more comfortable) and have extra room to separate them if they need to be alone. I will always make sure they are comfortable, happy, loved, and safe!

About: I have cared for pets all of my life- from hamsters to parakeets to fish to cats to my parents German Shepherd! I now have an Irish doodle, Aurora, and a golden doodle, Blaze, who love new friends. My husband, Jordan, is also an avid dog lover, and his family raises Norwegian elkhounds; so between the two of us we have quite a bit of experience. The neighbors always know that they can leave their pets in our hands and not only will they be fed and cared for, but also receive lots of love and attention as well. I am able to do bathing/grooming when required, as well as administer medicine should the necessity arise. We have moved! We now live on Skinner Hill Road, Sempronius/ Moravia, about 12 minutes from our previous location on Salt Rd, Groton. Our family will be growing by one tiny human in October 2023, and I have quit my full time job in preparation of that! So, I now have extra time to give to your fur babies when they come to stay! At the Doodle & Kaboodle, we’re all about the dogs! I currently live in a large house in the country with my husband, Jordan, our daughter Arielle (born 2023), our Irish doodle, Aurora, and our golden doodle, Blaze. Our backyard is fully fenced with agricultural grade 5 foot fencing for lots of outdoor fun! The dogs also have free run of the downstairs of our home. Overnight, dogs are kept in crates. They may also be crated if they seem overstimulated or need a break from playing. However, they will spend the majority of their time playing freely with our dogs. If your pup is not accustomed to being crated, we will arrange a quiet place in the house for their down time. Tell me your dog’s schedule and I will do my best to replicate it. Dog pick up and drop off is between 8 am and 9 pm seven days a week. Drop ins and walks: I am now able to make a drop in or walk your pup any time, any day! Due to the increase in fuel costs, I can no longer travel more than 10 miles from home. I have raised my drop in/ walk prices as well to compensate for fuel; however, I have drastically lowered my “second dog fee” to help balance the price out for those of you who are lucky enough to have more than one dog. Males over 6 months must be neutered for safety reasons. Unspayed females are welcome. If your dog goes into heat while staying with us, I will do my best to care for her. However, I do not assume responsibility for accidental pregnancy. No dogs who have a history of being aggressive with dogs or people are accepted. For liability reasons, I am not able to keep pit bulls or any mixed breed pit bulls or staffordshire terriers in my home. All other breeds are welcome! For the healthy and safety of all dogs, every dog must be vaccinated against rabies, distemper, parvo, and bordetella, as well as be on an active flea/tick preventative, in order to stay in our home. We also require proof of a clean fecal test within the last 6 months to stay in our home. We appreciate your understanding that this is to keep everyone safe and healthy! When you decide to book, you are confirming that to the best of your knowledge your dog does not have any contagious health conditions including but not limited to parasites, giardia, ringworm, mange, and other skin conditions and parasites/worms. If your dog has an obvious illness when he/she arrives I reserve the right to turn him/her away for the health and safety for all other dogs in my care. If you are not sure if your dog may be ill, please tell me the symptoms before drop off so we can make a decision ahead of time. Please provide food, dishes, bedding, crate, leash, collar, and anything else your dog may need. If you are not able to bring a crate please let me know and I will see what I can do. I have a few extras but may not always have the size required. Every dog must have a buckle on collar or similar. Slip on leashes are not accepted. A collar with id tags is recommended. I have a tag with my phone number that I will attach to your dogs collar while staying with me if you are not able to provide one. About: Miranda has grown up in a home with furry friends since she was 6 months old! Everyone in the family has always had dogs. Miranda has raised 3 of her own from being a puppy to a full grown fur baby! Charles has also grown up his entire life with dogs running around his house. Please do keep in mind that we are dog sitters not dog trainers... If your pooch is destructive or disobedient; please let us know before hand, those kind of surprises are not always fun. We are currently at home full time due to the pandemic and being unemployed which means we will be available for you whenever you need us! We live in a ranch style home with a big fenced in back yard perfect for running and playing! We have a 5 year old boxer who we call Hazel that loves to sun bathe on the back porch as well. She is a super loving and playful girl who gets along with others very well! (PLEASE check her profile at the end of the page!) She has bins and bins full of toys that she has no problem sharing! We do have a 1 year old kitty in the house who is Hazels best friend and her name is Baby Kitty. She loves to play and cuddle with dogs too. We have added another kitty who is a munchkin and she is a little over 3 months old and her name is Bentley! We are BIG dog lovers so we can assure you, your furry legged friend will get the most love you could imagine while in our care! (Side note: Hazel doesn’t get along well with smaller dogs unless they are puppies PLEASE look at her profile for more information)

About: There’s no place like home, right? You can put your mind to rest knowing that in our home your pet will get the love & attention they deserve, just like they would at yours. With a lifetime of experience working with all kinds of animals- senior dogs, lizards, spiders, cats- not to mention professional experience with aquarium species, your pet will be given high quality care. We believe that a tired pet is a well behaved pet, so enrichment is a big deal to us. Your pup will enjoy nature walks where they can sniff their heart out, and mentally stimulating toys when the weather is too cold for walks. My husband, Jack, works from home most days so outside breaks can be as frequent as your dog needs. I work full time 4 days/week and my husband, Jack, works from home to provide potty breaks, walks, and other enrichment as frequently as your pet needs. I make sure that all of your pets’ needs are met from the first moment they come into home, just like I would with my own dog, Brisco. Text/email updates are given throughout the stay, at least once per day. Our spacious backyard and separate zones of the house are large enough for everyone to have quiet time if they like. Pups will be monitored outside at all times. We will be sure to monitor the environment of exotic pets & aquatic species carefully.
