Caterina proved to be the perfect sitter for my senior dog Max. She sent updates and it was evident that she truly cares about what she does. Max came home happy and energetic—not always the case with some boarding kennels. I cannot recommend her more highly, and Max and I look forward to his staying with her again.

Friendly, open, took the time to show me her house so I felt comfortable leaving my special girl there overnight. Excellent communication and picture updates. I felt very much at ease knowing my pup was being cared for. I will absolutely use Chantal again!

Ashley and Brian were outstanding hosts to my dog Dublin yesterday. Ashley sent me pictures and detailed updates during the day. I understand Dublin became fast buddies with their young son. So glad Dublin has this great family to care for him next time I go out of town.

AMAZING CARE!! This was the first time we have boarded our 15 month old GSD for more than 1 night, so we obviously wanted to find someone who would be good with her while we were on vacation for 10 days. Arya is not only good with his boarding practices, but he is also fantastic with “reading” dogs and has a deep understanding of them and their individual behaviors/needs. Nika has not been properly socialized because of my neurological condition, and difficulty walking her. She lunges at other dogs and has pulled me over. Arya had this frantic behavior and her “skittish” energy around other dogs diminished by the second day! There were daily videos (often 2-3) of her doing different things (walking, eating, interacting with his 3 dogs, lying in the crate, etc.) Excellent communication, and immediate responses to questions. We will absolutely be using Arya again for boarding, and are also considering training classes!!! Thanks again Arya!!! Nika had fun ?

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs my whole life—from my childhood golden retriever, to my first mini poodle in college, and now my French bulldog puppy. Having a Frenchie has taught me how to care for dogs with sensitive stomachs, skin allergies, and special needs. I cook fresh, balanced meals with real protein and veggies for every meal, and I treat every pup like my own—gentle, patient, and a little spoiled. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, or home-cooked meals, I make sure each dog feels safe, loved, and completely at home. I’m an MBA student at Cornell and have classes about three times a week from Monday to Thursday from 9am to 1pm. My boyfriend is home during the day until I return in the afternoon, so there’s always someone available to care for and walk the pups. We’re both huge dog lovers and spend most weekends at home since I usually have assignments to work on — which means plenty of time for cuddles, walks, and playtime with your furry family member. Your pup’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I have a French bulldog with sensitive skin and allergies, so I’m extremely careful about hygiene, food, and playtime routines. I also have a bit of OCD when it comes to cleaning — my home is spotless, sanitized daily, and always pet-safe. Every pup has their own cozy, comfortable space to relax, and I can easily follow any feeding or medication instructions. Whether your dog needs fresh meals, extra attention, or a calm environment, they’ll be cared for with the same love and detail I give my own.

About: I have always had pets in my life. I was born into a house with cats and dogs and have had two dogs for as long as I can remember. I have taken care of the animals when my parents have been gone. We have had dogs old and young of all sizes and I love all animals big and small. I will love on animals and play with them, take care of them or just snuggle if they dont like to play. I will be with the animals as much as possible in between other jobs. I also have worked at petsmart in the pet hotel so I have a lot of knowledge and experience working with pets. I am currently working full time but I can let the dogs out before I go to work and then can go right after work as well. I go in at 8 am and get off at 330 pm I will take special care with each pet and be sure to follow the rules that are set by the pet parent. Because of working at petsmart I pay close attention to details and take special care of pets.

Our bulldog Leia had an amazing time! She played a ton in the huge, fenced-in yard and seemed to be very well cared for and received a lot of personal attention. We received a lot of nice updates with photos and videos. She was very tired when she got home which is great! We hope to have Leia stay with Robert and Eileen again when we travel in the future.

I am fully comfortable leaving Marley with Andrea. During her stay, Marley had some stomach issues, and Andrea kept me updated the entire time. Sometimes after staying with a sitter, Marley can be a bit clingy. You would not know I was gone with how relaxed she was when I returned. I highly recommend Andrea!

About: I've had dogs my entire life from puppies to rescues! I've also been a grooming salon manager in Ithaca for 9 years. I've cared for many different breeds, ages, temperaments, and quirks all dogs have and I love them all the same. I have two dogs of my own Luke and Yoda. Luke is a 6 year old lab mix around 35 lbs. He is very loving and playful. Yoda is a 5 year old miniature fox terrier mix who has unlimited energy and is the sweetest snuggler. I am home all day with my baby and two dogs of my own so I can give the same care to some extra dogs! I treat every dog as if they are my own. I have lots of extra blankets to make sure they have there own space (i do recommend to bring some of there stuff like blankets, beds, and toys to make them more comfortable) and have extra room to separate them if they need to be alone. I will always make sure they are comfortable, happy, loved, and safe!

Kaylee & Aaron were incredible. I was extremely nervous leaving my dog with them for the weekend, as it was the longest we've been separated but it was my wedding and I had no other options. My dog loved every moment with them. I hate to admit it, but she didn't even want to leave when I picked her up. Kaylee and Aaron were flexible with my schedule, allowing me to pick her up once during her stay, sent updates and I'm pretty sure they did some training, because she's better behaved than when we dropped her off. A million thank yous and I'll definitely be booking them when we're off for our honeymoon!

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cortland home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cortland.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
