“Ashley and her family took wonderful care of my Siberian Husky for a week while I was traveling. They sent daily updates with photos and made sure he had lots of play sessions, regular feeding times, potty breaks and loving care. I would use them again, overall a great dog boarding experience!”

“This was the best Rover experience for me! Susan made sure my dog is safe and feels comfortable. My dog easily gets nervous with strangers, but she got used to the new environment faster than normal. I felt like Susan is really good with handling dogs too because she has great amount of experience with dogs. I really appreciate her updates, photos, and all the accommodations she has made for us. Thank you!!😊”

“Alicia provided excellent pet care for our cats in her home. She had a special cat room where they stayed and it had ample toys to play with. Her love for animals was obvious and she gave our cats. Excellent care attention. Thank you so much!”

“Aaron and Kaylee took a good care of my cat and dog! They followed the instructions and sent me updates while I was away. They responded promtly and were tursted. Will book them again in the future.”

“Becca went above and beyond to take care of our dog blue while we were on vacation. Blue was boarding with Becca and her husband at their place. They would make Blue delicious, nutritious food everyday. The pure excitement in blue’s eyes when he sees the food shows in the pictures Becca send us regularly. We get multiple updates of blue everyday with tons of pictures. Becca and her husband even took blue to Ithaca falls and let him play in the water. Blue got exercised more than we asked for. Blue had problems with allergies during his stay with Becca, but they took good care of blue: wiping his paws after every walk, and feeding him medication hided in a cheese wrap everyday. If you want someone that’s attentive, treats your dog like their own dog, goes above and beyond to meet the individual needs of your dog, and send you updates constantly without you even needing to ask, choose Becca! My boyfriend and I are so grateful for Becca and her husband’s effort in taking care of Blue. They are the ones that made us relaxed enough to enjoy our vacation - knowing that blue is in good hands. She made it feel like that our dog was on his little vexation too.”

About: I have had dogs and cats since I was a kid and have always enjoyed looking after and caring for animals. My girlfriend and I don't have any pets at the moment and have been housing our friends pets when they are traveling. Hoping to offer our comfortable house to other pets while their people are traveling! I currently work from 9-5 a short bus ride from my house. I have a lot of flexibility to go home for lunch during the day and check on our house guests. On the weekends we are usually around the house and enjoy going for walks along the gorge trails. We have a three-quarters fenced in backyard for quality fetch time and a large house for the pets to roam in. We have a very open living and dining room for running around and chasing toys! When I visit houses to check on pets I like to stay and play with them for a bit. Make sure they are comfortable and getting some fun in during the day!
“Maxine & Kyle were great - they sent plenty of pics of Kenzo enjoyiong his time. They took excellent care of him and we look forward to bookng with them again soon!”

“Lorinda was absolutely fantastic! This was the first time we have left both of our boys with someone else and were a little nervous. Lorinda immediately made us feel at ease and communicated/sent pics everyday that we were away. Even when leaving both of our boys ran up to say goodbye to her. We highly recommend and will absolutely be using her services again!!”
“Nina was a lifesaver! She was able to schedule a meet and greet, and book our dog for the weekend with short notice. She was very communicative. We received updates, and pictures, which was so appreciated. Our dog seemed very content during his stay with Nina. We are looking forward to using her again!”

My schedule is very flexible and I am available most days and times for your pet! I am even able to care for pets on weekends, early mornings and evenings. I have a one bedroom apartment and no animals in the house.I can keep up with feeding schedules, walking schedules, and any medical needs your pet may have such as providing medication. I treat each pet like my own and I love staying in touch with pet parents throughout the stay by sending pictures!
“Jennifer watched my dog for 4 days while I was out of then. We did a meet and greet ahead of time to make sure all dogs got along, which they did! They also have separate areas for dogs that would prefer not to overly socialize. My dog had a wonderful time playing, swimming and taking walks with Jennifer and crew. Jennifer was great at communicating daily and sent lots of pictures and videos. It was clear that nacho was having the best time. I definitely recommend Jennifer and will absolutely book again.”

“We had a wonderful experience working with Charlene. Her knowledge of dog training and experience put us at ease immediately, and she took affectionate and attentive care of our dog. It's obvious she really enjoys spending time with dogs and knows how to make them feel comfortable and well cared for. We would absolutely recommend her and hope to have her sit for us again!”

“Kaylan and her husband were amazing while our dog Lily visited with them over the last week. I got daily updates and pictures of Lily that were heartfelt and cute❤️ Lily was well cared for no doubt I couldn't recommend Kaylan more! She did daily walks and let Lily snuggle at night in their bed. We couldn't have asked for a more loving home for our fur baby while we were gone.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Blodgett Mills home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Blodgett Mills.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Blodgett Mills sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
