Allison gets 10 stars out of 5!! This was our first time using Rover and we couldn't be happier with Allison and the job she did with our 7 year old dog. She stopped by on two separate occasions prior to our trip to get acquainted with our dog. She was super diligent and on time for every visit. She communicated very well and provided ample updates and pictures. We’re lucky to have found her and will use her again.

Jayne has been just amazing! She provided drop in service for our cat Bernice for a week and I could not imagine ever getting any better care. She came on a regular schedule every day, took care of all her needs and spent time playing with her. I received pictures and a Rover report after every visit. She even bought her new toys! Bernice and I were extremely happy with Jayne and would highly recommend her.

About: I’ve had a dog since I was 9 years old. I’ve been taking care of them ever since! I have been watching other dogs since I was a teenager. I’ve pet sat a good variety of dogs, from border collies to labs and teeny little Pomeranian mixes! I have a good deal of availability during the summer, so my schedule is very flexible! I teach private lessons on Monday and Friday afternoons for a couple hours, otherwise my other jobs provide me a good deal of flexibility, so that I can pet set as much as possible! At my home our dogs have an electric fence, and have been properly trained not to cross the invisible line. I have also lived in areas where dogs are fenced in, and even with neither type of fence and just a long chain attached to the ground. Regardless I will take care of your pet regardless of the outdoor situation. I am pretty physically fit, so I can carve out some good time to take them on walks, long or short! I follow your instructions to the T when it comes to specific needs and potty/bed times. I will come to you and do whatever needs to be done to make sure your pet is happy and safe!

About: Hi! I'm a K-1 reading teacher with 5 years of teaching experience, and I'm looking forward to spending my summer helping care for your pups! As a teacher, I am dependable, responsible, and patient. I've had dogs my entire life and have spent years walking and pet sitting for friends and family. I currently have a Miniature Pinscher named Pinot, who is my whole world, so I understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your dog like family. Whether your pup needs walks, playtime, cuddles, or companionship, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. Since I'm currently on summer break, I have a very flexible schedule and can accommodate a variety of pet care needs. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family member! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. As a teacher currently on summer break, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. My own dog, Pinot, is a big part of my everyday life, so walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of affection are already built into my day. I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, making pet care something I genuinely look forward to each week rather than just another task. When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow their established routine as closely as possible to help their pet feel comfortable and secure. Whether I'm stopping by for a potty break, feeding, playtime, or a walk, I make sure each pet receives plenty of attention, affection, and exercise. I always prioritize safety, follow any specific instructions provided by the owner, and keep them updated with photos and messages so they can have peace of mind while they're away.

About: I am 18 years old and I have been dog/cat sitting for 3 years! I have three families that I routinely work with! I am comfortable staying nights on weekends or weekdays! I love animals and I am seeking more jobs to save money for college! I currently work part time at a restaurant as a hostess! My schedule is very flexible and I work about once a week due to being over staffed so I am very available to go above and beyond to make sure your pet(s) is extremely well cared for! I have two dogs at home so I don’t offer care at my house, but anything you need done for your pup I am happy to do! I can water plants, walk dogs, let dogs outside throughout the night, wake up early for feeding schedule, and much more to make sure your pet is happy!

Kaylee was so wonderful with our senior cat, Holly! Holly already misses her. ☺️ We knew she would be the perfect fit at the meet-and-greet when shy Holly came out from under the bed to eat treats from Kaylee's hand. Kaylee is very kind and patient with animals. Holly was given playtime, brushing, and treats daily along with her dry food and prescription wet food. Kaylee sent photos and videos every single day at the end each pet-sitting check-in. Her communication was consistent and excellent, allowing us to truly relax when we were on vacation. It gave us reassurance knowing that Kaylee was enjoying her time with our cat and that Holly warmed up to her so quickly. When we got home, we couldn't believe how clean everything looked! Kaylee also brought in our mail and followed all of our instructions for Holly. We will definitely hire Kaylee again without hesitation! She truly has a heart for cats and other animals, and for people too!

About: I’ve had cats and dogs all my life and even taken care of pets of friends and family! I love walking dogs, playing with cats and dogs, and taking care of them. I’m especially good with big dogs as I’ve had Great Danes all my life. I’m a college student so I’m busy but most days I have a couple hours in between classes to get things done. My weekends are easier to fit things in like house sitting. But I’m also flexible! When caring for pets I will make sure they have all the food, water, and attention they need! If they need a walk or to be let out, I am there for them. If they just need all the pets, I would be happy to provide that too!!

About: Animals have always been a major part of my life from cats to dogs to toads, I love them all. Over the years I have always had indoor cats and dogs in my care that have ranged in age from newborn to senior, energetic to unwell and everything in between. When I’m not caring for my pets or others, I’m a work from home artist and volunteer at the humane society as a foster and dog walker. Take comforting in knowing I would treat your best friend right. Currently I work from home as an artist (predominantly pet portraits) and can set my own schedule leaving me with ample availability for bit time or day and days throughout the week. I have a three acre yard with a large fenced in area, my dogs are extremely friendly and there is lake access that my own dogs use for swimming very often

About: I have experience in walking dogs, and house sitting. I have stayed with cats as well. I used to be a doggy daycare attendant! My responsibilities included: feeding animals on a regular schedule, walking them on a schedule, giving them medication, and giving them play time and attention. As an animal lover I know that pets need more than just food and water. They need love and affection too! Count on me to give it my all to your pets. :) I am currently employed part time, and am looking to make extra cash and to connect with pets since I don’t have any of my own. (Yet!) I would have to have an early heads up of when you’d need me, because I get my work schedule weekly. I apologize, but I am unable to provide at home services. I will do all that is necessary to love and take care of your pet.

As of July 2026, there are 2,495 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Columbia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Columbia stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Columbia. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
