About: If you have decided to keep your pets at home, where they are most comfortable, hire a person who will shower them with love and keep them safe. I'm retired from banking and loving the simple life, enjoying what I truly love.... caring for pets. Besides caring for my own pets, home, and family. I am available all days and will do my best to meet your needs. My three precious furbabbies-a very funny cat-Miss Kitty and two Pomskys-Sheeba & Earl-are my pride and joy. My Pomskys are escape artists which makes me hyper-aware. I understand the importance of protecting them and ensuring their safety. I love all fur babies with all my heart and treat them like children. I love to walk my dogs along the Niagara Falls Gorge trail and ArtPark in Lewiston. I have a bike trailer and take my dog and cat for rides.

About: I have been taking care of a variety of animals since I was 5 years old! If you need someone trustworthy, caring, and kind to animals to watch your babies, I am definitely the one to call! I have taken care of many different types of animals including birds, cats, dogs (big and small), bunnies, guinea pigs, lizards, chinchillas, squirrels, fish, and more! I treat all animals as my own, and I believe that each and every creature deserves respect and love, no matter how small (or how crazy) they may be! I recently graduated college with a degree in Elementary Education, and am on the hunt for jobs! For the time being, I have a completely open schedule, and am free to visit your pets anytime you would like me to be there! I can care for any type of animal, small, big, feathered, scaled, furry, etc.! I am extremely careful when working in other peoples' homes, I know how nerve-racking it can be! I will care for each and every animal to the best of my abilities, making sure every animal receives the love and care they deserve. When I am watching your animals, you don't have to worry! I can promise they will be in the best hands possible!

About: Years of fostering dogs has given me hands-on experience with all kinds of breeds, ages, and temperaments. I know how to handle anxious pups, high-energy dogs, and everything in between. My goal is always to provide the same love and structure I’d want for my own pets—so you can feel confident your dog is in good hands. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because it’s something I’ve been doing for years through fostering and pet sitting. I plan my days around walks, feedings, playtime, and any special needs—like medications or training. I love creating a consistent, calm schedule that keeps pets happy and stress-free. I always start by learning each pet’s routine, preferences, and needs. In my home, I provide a clean, calm, and fun environment with regular walks, playtime, and lots of affection. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their schedule to the letter and make sure their space stays tidy, secure, and welcoming.

About: I’ve always loved animals. I had two Golden Retrievers and three cats who were a huge part of my life. They’ve all passed over the last few years, and while I’m not ready for new pets of my own just yet, I’d love to care for yours. I have a soft spot for Golden Retrievers and could really use one to love right now — but no matter the breed, I’ll treat your pet like family. Whether it’s a walk, a visit, or just keeping them company, I’ll make sure they feel safe and cared for. I have a full time job Monday- Thursday. I can be available for drop ins on those evenings if needed. Most Thursdays I’m available after 2. I have off Friday- Sunday and am available for several drop ins and walks When your pet is with me I will treat them as my own. I understand that every dog is unique, and I take the time to learn their quirks, preferences, and routines. My goal is to make them feel at home while you’re away, giving you peace of mind and your pet a new friend they can trust.

About: I have taken care of different types of dogs since I was little, I have always surrounded myself with that environment and I really enjoy their company. And I was always known for doing my job very well. I currently work partially, but in my free time, I engage in productive activities. I find that pets are always good company and a great way to spend the day. I think a way to start taking care of the owner's house is with treats for the pets, ensuring all the dog's needs, and making sure he feels comfortable.

About: I’ve taken care of a couple different dogs for around three to four years now doing basic care takings needs such as playing, walking, and feeding. I have also had a Shih tzu of my own for 3 years now. I work part time and I am a full time student. My summer schedule has classes and work several days of the week. I’m generally free most mornings and after 9pm on days I work. I let my dog walk around our home freely. However in our backyard I have a leash for him so he can walk around while not being able to run off! When I am dog watching when I am away I would crate the dog if im gone for several hours and let them roam if its for a short amount of time.

FAQs for Dog Walking - Colonial Village

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 892 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Colonial Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Colonial Village. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Colonial Village.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Colonial Village. On Rover:

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 92% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
