About: Hi there! My name’s Emma, I'm 25 years old. I’m a Dog and Cat Mama to three of my own fur babies, and work part time for the local school district. I've raised animals my whole life, and started pet sitting and dog walking for neighbors at 12, and I took care of the same animals regularly for nearly 6 years. Taking care of animals is second nature for me, and it's a fun way to help pay the bills. I do also have experience with epileptic dogs, elderly animals, and pets who need medicine regularly administered. Please feel free to message me with any questions! I work for the school district almost full time so have limited availability throughout the school year, with more availability during “winter break” and full time availability throughout summer break. I am only able to go to client's homes, I do not have the space to house client's pets. That being said, I treat and care for every animal as if it was my own. For client's I make myself daily checklists for the pets needs to make sure I never miss a thing.

About: Experienced Vet Tech • Animal Caregiver I’ve been working with animals since 2017, beginning as a manager at a boarding, daycare, and grooming facility in Livermore, where I also cared for Alameda County Sheriff’s animals. Every temperament I met taught me something new and ultimately led me into veterinary medicine in 2019. Since then, I’ve worked in veterinary hospitals throughout Danville/Blackhawk, Fremont, and Pleasanton. After years in vet med, I’ve realized what I love most is simply caring for the animals themselves. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet—their quirks, routines, personalities, and what makes them feel safe and comfortable. I have a knack for connecting with animals and making sure their individual needs are understood and met. Most of the animals I meet end up becoming little friends of mine. The occasional possum or feral cat may not be quite as convinced, but I promise I’ll still give them my very best. ❤️ Your pet will be cared for with the experience, patience, and genuine love I would want for my own. I am taking a step back from my career and pursuit of Veterinary Medicine. I would like to get to the basics of what I know and love so very much. Caring for and spending time with each animal. Making sure they get the care they deserve, and so much more. I like continue with each animals normal routine. If they like to lay out in the sun for a few hours, that’s what we will do. If they want to play fetch until nap time, consider it done. If we want to go for a run through the neighborhood or a walk on a nearby trail, I’m ready to go.
About: I have had dogs and other animals all my life. I take my dog on a walk every day and am happy to help out those who need help making sure their best friends gets exercise. Pet care is a huge priority for me and basically my primary job. I only part time for odd jobs at this time which is why I am available for so many services. I would treat your animal as if they were my own. Happy to work with how you want me to care for them during our service.
About: I am a dog lover and fiber artist who works from our currently petless home. Our beloved Chu-chan (who I often used as a model for my tapestries) passed a few years ago. My high school teacher husband, Dennis, and I miss her lots and would be happy to care for your dear house trained over 2 year old pup while you are away. Doggies must be up to date on their shots, on a flea prevention regimen, NOT use 'pee pads' inside the house, wear dog tags (whether or not they have a chip), and, especially, be able to sleep on their own in the living room. We prefer dogs under 40 pounds but larger, mellow dogs might also be workable. Pup can hang with me as I weave in my studio or have free rein of the fenced back yard. I'm happy to take breaks during the day for puppy walks. We are conveniently located in Walnut Creek near the Iron Horse Trail and can walk or drive to the Heather Farm Dog Park. Various open space trails are also a short drive away. Currently we do not have any animals living with us- just my husband and I- and are happy to host yours. Our fee, before Rover's add-on charges, per 24 hrs. is $50 ($60 holidays) if your dog can be with other dogs- we like to have 2 to 3 dogs at a time. Please be aware that Rover does add additional fees- the number you see listed on the site is the total per day fee. If your pup does not get on well with other dogs and needs to be the only 4 legger around the fee is $150 per 24 hours if we can accommodate you. In addition to overnight boarding we accept dogs for daycare in our home. For daycare during the daytime our fee is $45 or $50 during holidays- again, Rover tacks fees on so check to total price on the website. Please identify any food bowls you bring with your dog's name on them and know that we don't guarantee that any toys you bring will not be damaged ;) Please check the calendar for availability as I might be away leading trips to Guatemala to explore the Mayan Textile Culture or in Japan showing my artwork**. I also speak Japanese and Spanish ** Even if the calendar says unavailable please feel free to send an inquiry as we might be able to accomodate you depending on the timing of drop off and pick up. I work from home and am almost always there. Happy to have doggies around when I work and also happy to let them out into the fenced backyard when they desire.

About: I have one French Bulldog, ZaZa who is three and a tiny poodle mix, Blake, who is 2.5! Blake has lived with me throughout most of my college experience ever since he was 2 weeks old. I trained him by myself while also taking care of zaza from time to time! I just graduated from UC Berkeley, and I am currently looking for a part time job, but as of now I am completely free to focus on caring for doggos! I also have my dog Blake at home with me, so I am open to fit with your schedule. Blake is an energetic dog, so I like to take him out on 3-5 walks everyday. I also take him to the dog park once a week to help release his energy and interact with other dogs. I have plenty of toys at home, and training treats! Since Blake is a poodle, and he has long curly hair, I have a grooming kit at home as well that we use once every two weeks!
About: I have spent my entire life with at least one dog in the household. I currently own two of my own that are ready to welcome slumber pawty guests! I have used Rover for years so I know what I like in a sitter, and plan to extend those same qualities and perks to our guests. My partner Ryan also works from home most days, and has also owned and cared for dogs and cats over the years. We both wake up early and let the pups out supervised in the fenced yard before breakfast. While the yard is fenced, we do keep a constant eye on them as they roam from the house to the yard throughout the day. Afternoon naps on the couch are typical. We usually go on early evening walks around the neighborhood if your pup has an exercise routine you’d like them to stick to. If they are good in public we are happy to take them on hikes. Our yard is fully fenced, and we have an additional fenced side yard with fake turf for when it’s raining and the pups don’t want to go outside.
About: From pups to senior dogs and kitten to elderly cats, all pets deserve a little extra pampering when their people are away! I look forward to meeting your pet or pet crew and helping them live their best lives! I work a variety of odd jobs so I'm available when needed for your pets! During a typical pet sitting stay I aim to spend nor more than 2-8 hours away from the house depending on the needs of the animals. Keeping animals in a familiar routine is my main focus. Whatever their usual daily schedule looks like (feeding times, walks, bedtime, etc) is what I try to recreate. I have experience administering medication if needed and am happy and able to provide walks as far as your pet enjoys.

In my home, I have my fur baby who will keep your fur baby company, I make sure pets feel comfortable and safe by giving them a cozy space, regular walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. About: Hello, friend!!! I have been housesitting and caring for other's pets, homes, and gardens since my teen years. As a writer I spend a lot of time working from home, meaning that I will largely be available throughout the day to give your pets all the attention they need and ease the discomfort of having their loved one (you!) away for a while. Staying attuned to an animal's needs comes naturally for me as it brings me fulfillment as well. Cats are my absolute favorite - I have had a cat as a companion in every stage of my life and cared for many more. I have cared for many dogs as well, but mostly quieter dogs with a "cat-like" demeanor. I have sensory sensitives so I am unable to care for younger and more energetic dogs that bark a lot. (Barking because excited for certain activities is expected and fine, though). Other pets I have owned and cared for include smaller pets such as goldfish, bearded dragons, hermit crabs, snakes, and tarantulas. I have great respect for what a home means and treat every space I am in with reverence, keeping it clean and cared for. I also have light experience gardening and am comfortable watering a mass of plants! I have housesat several locations that have an entire array of potted plants. I always make sure they are well tended to and kept as lively as ever! A little bit about me - I am a 35 year old writer and performance artist. (They/them pronouns). I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, and attended college in Santa Fe, New Mexico where I received my BA in Creative Writing and Literature. I remained in the beautiful high desert for close to a decade in earlier adulthood. The culture and gorgeous landscapes of both Northern California and New Mexico have deeply informed who I am. I've also worked in childcare and children's entertainment. Being a caretaker has always come naturally to me and often brings me a sense of fulfillment. Some of my favorite activities (other than writing and performing) are hiking, reading, dancing, reading tarot, and making art. Any of my close loved ones will tell you I am a calm, kind, humorous, intelligent, and thoughtful person who approaches all things in life from the heart and with great intention. I can't wait to meet you and give your beloved pets the attention and love they deserve while you go on your next great adventure! Since I mostly work from home writing, pet care easily fits into my daily schedule. Occasionally, I have live performances and community events but when I am needed all day elsewhere I typically know well in advance and can communicate with you effectively to make sure this housesit is still a good fit for both of us and especially your beloved pet! All pet care will take place in your home, so I will keep your pets' routine as stated, ensuring that nothing is disrupted for them aside from your departure. Plants and home will also be cared for as you would care for it. Cleanliness is part of my values, so you can expect your home to be as organized and neat as you left it. I do not do deep cleaning such as vacuuming unless previously negotiated.
About: I've been housesitting since 2010, mainly cats and dogs. Multi-pet houses don't bother me and I'm good at keeping with your fur kids' schedules. I have and RVT license that is current and have been an RVT for over 10 years. I took a break from housesitting to work at animal hospitals, including a 24-hour critical care hospital in the ICU. Medications and medical treatments are no problem for me. I have an open schedule and am comfortable with either staying at your home for your pet's comfort, or I can visit everyday to make sure they are cared for. I adjust to their wants and needs and stick to their schedule. I'm low stress and understand that sometimes pets just need to warm up to you. As for my personal pets, there's four cats with totally different personalities that run the house (I just live there).

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
