“Sam was AMAZING! She took such good care of my pups while I was out of town. She sent pictures and I could tell they loved having her there. She updated me on anything I needed to know and replied to my texts right away. Thanks for everything Sam!!”

“Hailey was awesome with our pups! We have a senior cavalier and a 2 year old lab mix. Hailey was timely and kept us updated with pictures of the fur babies. Very responsive and responsible - would definitely recommend her!”

“It was comforting to have Kristin in our home pet sitting while we were away. Very professional and caring with our pup. It was a relief to know that if there was an emergency she could take care of it. Coco loves Kristin! Thank you for taking such good care of her!”

“Mallory took great care of both of our dogs, especially our medically needy senior. She was easy to communicate with and diligently monitored symptoms in our senior. Our dogs were well cared for and I would happily rebook.”

“Phillip did a great job watching my doggo. He sent photos and updates which helped ease the separation. One photo was so funny I am printing it for my office desk. He left the house exactly as it was and I absolutely would rebook for our next trip.”

“Emma was absolutely fantastic with our large dogs! They are a bit high maintenance in their own ways but they were taken care of perfectly! Will absolutely be booking again in the future!”

“Bella was a great communicator, did a wonderful job watching our two dogs. She left the house in perfect condition after house sitting for 4 nights. She even did the laundry and cleaned up when one of our dogs had an accident on the couch. She was wonderful!”

“Jessica was the perfect dog sitter! We needed a house sitter on short notice and she really came through. The dogs loved her and I felt so comfortable leaving them with her. She introduced her dog Maya to ours and everyone got along great. Highly recommended!”

“Dominique did an exceptional job house sitting my two large dogs for 3 nights. His communication was consistent and reliable. I appreciated his attention to detail for each dog and their unique quirks. My home was just how I left it upon my return. Water bowl was full and my pups were happy! I fully recommend Dominique and have already booked another sitting with him.”

About: I have had and cared for dogs my entire life. I often dog-sit for friends and family, and I have had 6 foster dogs in the past! I’m familiar with taking care of old dogs and those that need medications as well. I recently finished graduate school and am applying for full-time positions. That being said, I am home a majority of the time to give your dog plenty of attention! I have one small, friendly dog that would keep your pup company! I allow my dog on furniture and do not crate her, so I am willing to care for your dog in the way you prefer (crate, free roam, etc.)

“Jamila is the Best! Repeat dog walking and in-house sitting and she is consistently great with our now 9year old dog and cat. She is a part of the pack now :)”

About: I bring hands-on experience caring for dogs with a variety of needs, from energetic pups to seniors requiring extra attention. I’ve successfully cared for up to three dogs at a time, making sure each one gets individual love, exercise, and attention. I’m also comfortable providing medications—whether it’s oral medicine or ear treatments—so you can feel confident your pet’s health routines will be followed with care. My goal is always to make your dog feel safe, happy, and loved while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re in capable hands. As a full-time teacher, my weekdays are structured and reliable—which means your pets can count on a consistent routine with me, too! I’m available for drop-ins and walks before and after school hours, and I have every other weekend off, which allows me to dedicate extra time to longer visits, boarding, or overnight care. Teaching has given me patience, attentiveness, and strong multitasking skills—all qualities I bring into pet care. I also offer house sitting, which means your pets can stay in the comfort of their own home while I keep up with their routines and give them lots of love and attention. I make sure your pets feel safe, your home is cared for, and you have peace of mind while you’re away. Spending time with animals is truly one of the best parts of my week! When I’m caring for a dog in your home, I want them to feel completely loved and comfortable while you’re away. I do my best to stick to their normal routine—whether that’s mealtime, walks, playtime, or even just those quiet snuggle moments they look forward to. I pay close attention to the little things that make your dog happy, because I know how much they mean to you. While I’m there, I also treat your home with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. You can count on me to keep things tidy and follow your instructions so you can come back to both a happy pup and a peaceful home. My goal is always to make your dog feel like they’re spending time with a trusted friend until you return.
“Amanda was a godsend when our house sitter cancelled last minute. We met her first then her with her dog, Sedona, and I knew right away this would work out really well. You see my dog, Millie, doesn’t warm up to people easily and doesn’t always play nice with other dogs but Millie instantly liked both of them. Amanda stayed at our house along with Sedona, so Millie was spoiled having her two new friends stay with her. They went on many walks and Amanda sent me lots of pictures while we were gone. I will definitely use Amanda again!”

“Kya did an amazing job caring for our animals. She kept us updated every day and sent pictures, which we really loved. It was clear they were in great hands. We would definitely book with her again!”
About: I have 15+ years of professional pet care experience through shelter, boarding, dog daycare and rescue experience. I previously managed a large scale, highly awarded facility in Madison. I can offer a vast amount of knowledge to make sure your pet not only has a great time while you are away but also is safe and well card for. I offer walks and drop in visits any day of the week. Walks can be in your own neighborhood, at a nearby trail location of your choosing or off leash at my rural home in our 1.75 acre fenced in yard. (Additional travel fees may apply for locations other than your home.) Your pup will come home tired from not only physical exercise but also from mental stimulation as I will encourage them to use their sniffer and their brain with basic obedience. I also offer a limited amount of In-Home Pet Sitting services in customer homes only. I am not able to sleepover in customer homes due to having pets/children of my own but can offer house sitting on a drop in basis and make multiple, extended visits to your home daily at your preferred times. I look forward to meeting your and your pet! I work a part time job that is only in person on Mondays. Every other day of the week my schedule is very flexible for walks, drop ins or pet sitting services. At our meet and greet we will discuss safety protocols for getting your pet inside and outside safety as well as ensure they have a collar/harness setup that is secure for walks.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cold Spring walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cold Spring maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cold Spring choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cold Spring. On Rover:

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
