Rhiannon was absolutely amazing with our two dogs! One of my dogs struggled with bad separation anxiety while we were gone and she went above and beyond to help him cope with it and gave him so much extra love and attention. She left our house in excellent condition as well. We appreciate everything she did for our fur babies and highly recommend her to anyone!

Lydia is such a great sitter! She took amazing care of my (high maintenance) dog, even though there were extra instructions because she had unexpected dental work just before my trip. Lydia followed everything exactly as I requested and left the house sparkling clean. Definitely appreciate her attention to detail and recommend as a sitter.

About: I volunteered for the internship at Save A Dog in Sudbury, Mass., back in 2020. Helped them clean and gave plenty of lovely attention. I also dog-sat several dogs for four years during college and experienced house-sitting for a lovely couple for three weeks in summer 2024. I love doing my job as I treat them as my own. I will make sure dogs have a blast time and are loved while they are with me. I over-communicate by sending updated texts and pictures, or videos. I would say you come to the right dog sitter here who loves dogs like crazy. Since I work full-time, I am primarily available on weekends, with occasional weekday availability depending on my schedule. When your pet is in my care, I will make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, and quality time. If you are comfortable with it, I may also be able to care for your dog in my home while I am at work. Your dog would have the companionship of my own dogs, who would love having a new furry friend around! Of course, I will always make sure this arrangement is a good fit for your dog and that everyone feels safe and comfortable. I am more than happy to follow your specific requests and your pet’s regular routine. I understand that every pet is unique, and I will do my best to provide the care, attention, and love they deserve. My goal is for you to feel confident and at ease knowing your furry family member is in caring hands. 💖 We have two sweet and friendly dogs: about 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier and a 1-year-old Dachshund mix. They both enjoy meeting new dogs and can be playful or relaxed and cuddly, depending on their furry friend’s personality and comfort level. My pups are true social butterflies! Creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment is very important to me. I understand that every pet has different needs, routines, and personalities, and I am happy to accommodate them whenever possible to help make their stay as smooth and stress-free as possible. I also understand that trusting someone with your beloved pet can be difficult. Building trust, maintaining open communication, and providing a safe environment are my top priorities. I am an open book and want you to feel completely comfortable asking me any questions about myself, my home, my dogs, or how I care for pets. My goal is to build a trusting relationship with you while making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for. ☺️🩷

About: 🐾 QUICK OVERVIEW • Private in-home dog boarding & limited doggy daycare • Calm, low-volume care (typically 1–2 dogs at a time) • Work-from-home dog sitter with a large, securely fenced yard • Excellent for anxious, sensitive, senior, or routine-loving dogs • Pet CPR & First Aid certified • Mindful walks, attentive companionship, and overnight care (A peaceful, boutique alternative to traditional daycare or kennels.) ––– ✨ABOUT ME Experienced • Attentive • Grounded • Quality-Focused Animals feel safe and deeply cared for in my presence—and I treat that trust with the utmost respect. – I’m a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs (puppies and adults), cats (kittens and seniors), birds, fish, and other small animals. From childhood through adulthood, animals have always been part of my life, including personally caring for multiple dogs and cats, as well as animals while living abroad in Bali, Indonesia—where attentive, mindful care and environmental awareness were essential. – My primary focus is private in-home dog boarding and limited doggy daycare, allowing me to offer consistent companionship, a calm nervous-system-friendly environment, and truly individualized attention. I intentionally limit the number of dogs in my care so each dog can fully settle, relax, and feel at ease—never rushed, overstimulated, or overlooked. – I’m certified in holistic health, mind/body somatics, and breathwork with a trauma-informed lens. This means I’m especially attuned to nervous systems, subtle behavioral cues, routines, emotional regulation, and safety. My care is particularly well-suited for dogs who are sensitive, anxious, elderly, or adjusting to change. – This is boutique, quality-focused care—designed to feel steady, thoughtful, and deeply supportive for both you and your dog. ––– 🐾 What Sets My Care Apart • Work-from-home dog sitter with a securely fenced yard • Calm, grounded presence dogs respond to quickly • Excellent for dogs who value routine, familiarity, and predictability • Attentive observation with proactive, thoughtful care • Clear, dependable communication and updates • Respectful, low-stimulus environment • Pet CPR & First Aid certified • Very large, spacious backyard with outdoor doggie lounge (see photos) • Sun-filled doggie studio space with large doggie door (see photos) • Orthopedic, washable pet beds (small, medium, large) with blankets • Stainless steel feeding bowls, leashes, toys, grooming basics on hand – This is quality—not quantity—care. Your dog will never be rushed, ignored, or treated as “one of many.” ––– 🏡 Home & Environment My home offers a spacious, serene environment designed for comfort and ease. Dogs have access to a secure sunroom/studio for lounging and rest, with a large doggie door opening to an expansive, fully fenced backyard. A front side patio provides additional fresh-air space (see photos). – I’m also a mom to two kind, animal-loving boys (ages 8 and 12) who have grown up around dogs, cats, birds, and fish. They are gentle, respectful, and understand boundaries. They are mostly at school and are not caretakers. All animals in our home are treated with respect and consent, and quiet companionship is always honored. ––– 🐕 MY SERVICES OFFERED (Dog-Only): 🏡 Boarding & Doggie Daycare (Primary Services) I specialize in overnight dog boarding and dog daycare in a private home, offering a low-volume alternative to traditional kennels or group-style daycare. – Dog boarding and daycare is offered in my home for a very limited number of dogs (typically 1–2 at a time). Dogs enjoy a clean, hygienic, serene environment with access to a large, securely fenced yard and a predictable daily rhythm. – Doggy daycare is available in a private, low-volume setting—generally one or two dogs per day if they are compatible—to maintain calm, attentiveness, and safety. – Available upon arrival: • Orthopedic washable pet beds (small, medium, large) with blankets • Stainless steel feeding bowls • Extra leashes, toys, brushes, poop bags • Pet wipes and plant-derived deodorizing dog spray • Light grooming for small and medium-sized dogs A meet & greet is optional to all boarding and daycare bookings. ––– 🚪 Walks and Drop-Ins (Limited Availability) Ideal for pets who need feeding, walks, playtime, or check-ins. I’m punctual, attentive, and communicative. I offer dog walking and drop-in visits in a limited capacity to maintain high-quality care for boarding and daycare clients. – 🐈 Cat Care (Limited Availability) From playful kittens to senior cats who prefer quiet companionship—I’m especially skilled with various feline personalities and subtle cues. – 🦜🐠🦎 Other Care (Limited Availability) (If you have birds, fish, or other small animals, I’m happy to care for them too—just ask!) ––– 💛 MY APPROACH & PRICING I focus on quality, not quantity. My care is intentionally low-volume and highly attentive. Dogs in my care receive consistency, calm, and genuine presence—never rushed or overstimulated service. – My pricing reflects private, individualized care, limited availability, and the level of attention I provide. This is not a high-volume or rotation-based setting. Clients choose my services for peace of mind, reliability, and the quality of care their dog receives. – Meet & greets are always encouraged to ensure the right fit. ––– 🤍 BEST FIT/ NOT A FIT My care is an excellent fit for dogs who: • Thrive in calm, predictable environments • Are comfortable with structure and routine • Enjoy individualized attention and companionship • Do well in a low-volume, private home setting • Are sensitive, anxious, elderly, or adjusting to change • Are potty-trained and comfortable with basic obedience – My care may not be the best fit for dogs who: • Require constant high-energy play or group-style daycare • Are not comfortable in a calm, low-stimulation environment • Are not potty-trained or have ongoing marking behaviors • Need intensive behavioral training beyond routine support • Do best in large, high-volume or highly social pack settings – If you’re unsure whether your dog is a good fit, I’m always happy to have a conversation. My goal is to ensure every dog in my care feels settled, supported, and genuinely at ease. – My services are intentionally designed for families seeking private, attentive, low-volume care rather than traditional or high-energy daycare environments. I work from home, allowing me to offer a highly attentive and flexible schedule. Your dog’s day is thoughtfully shaped around their established routines for meals, walks, companionship, and rest—never forced into a rigid or overcrowded timetable. – I intentionally limit the number of bookings I accept so each dog receives unrushed, individualized care and consistent presence throughout the day. This allows me to maintain a calm, predictable environment and respond thoughtfully to each dog’s needs. – My approach is designed to feel steady, considered, and reliable—providing peace of mind for you and a sense of ease, security, and familiarity for your dog. 💛 A safe, and loving environment for your dog Safety, trust, and calm are at the heart of the care I provide. – My home includes a large sun-filled studio space with access to a spacious, securely fenced and gated backyard. Dogs can safely move between indoors and outdoors through a doggie door, allowing for plenty of fresh air and gentle movement throughout the day. If your dog uses a crate or has specific containment preferences, I’m happy to follow whatever routine feels most familiar and supportive for them. – I live on a quiet, peaceful street in a safe neighborhood, with access to a beautiful nearby walking path. I offer structured, mindful walks that are tailored to each dog’s comfort level, energy, and needs. – I care for every dog as an individual and follow your established routines as closely as possible. I’m very attentive to doors, gates, leashes, and overall environment safety, and I always communicate clearly if anything out of the ordinary comes up. – For daycare and boarding, I provide clean, comfortable orthopedic bedding suitable for small, medium, and large dogs. I also keep extra leashes, dog wipes, poop bags, plant-based deodorizing pet spray, toys, and a ChuckIt ball set on hand. – My goal is to offer a clean, nurturing, low-stress environment where your dog feels relaxed, secure, and genuinely cared for while you’re away.

David is simply the best! We came to Santa Fe from Denver for a few days (Monday-Thursday) and we have 7 and 8 year old Border Terriers. Our male has epilepsy, and we do not leave him alone, so we hired David to watch them. David came on Monday night, Tuesday day, Tuesday night, Wednesday day and Wednesday night so that we could go out to dinner, go to the spa, etc. He stayed for several hours at a time, which was a big ask, especially since he has his own pup, but we couldn't ask for a better experience with him. He arrived on time or early, walked them, played with them, administered medications, gave them snacks and loved them! He sent us lots of videos and photos and updates, so we knew they were being taken care of and meds given, etc. He is also just a lovely person, and we really enjoyed getting to know him. He has a calming energy which was great for my boy with epilepsy. We won't hesitate to use him again if we go back to Santa Fe. Thank you so much David!

About: I grew up in a house full of animals. As long as I can remember, my family has lived with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens, lizards, frogs, snails, salamanders and all manner of wild backyard critters as well to attend. I was raised to respect these animals as well as attend to their needs. I believe love and respect go hand-in-hand, and I love creatures of all shapes and sizes! Since I was old enough to babysit, I was also pet-sitting! I believe that animals are not only our friends and our kindred spirits, but also our duty to care for well. I spent time working as a pet nutritional expert at a store in Austin, TX, and that experience only increased my passion for animals and their well-being. I love to travel, and know that it makes all the difference to leave someone you trust with your critters. My headline includes my vision statement; I endeavor to become a friend to your pet, and while you're away, provide my full presence, my dedicated care, and my joy at being with them. I work at two museums in Albuquerque on weekdays, but live in Bernalillo. I'm a graduate student at UNM, so my class schedule is mostly afternoons right now. My cat's a rather needy fellow, so he's happiest when I'm home. I make sure to make time to spend with him on weekends, mornings, and evenings, and spend time making up for missed cuddles then. I keep his areas very clean, he drinks only from a fountain, and I keep him to a strict feeding schedule (much to his chagrin and occasional break-in attempts of the food container). My frogs, Gus and Markl, need live food once a week and clean water every day, and I maintain a heat lamp schedule for them as well, as well as regular maintenance to their bioactive terrarium. When my parents are out of town, I take care of our two dogs, Lilo and Clara, and nine chickens. The dogs need to be walked, the chickens need to be fed and their eggbox cleaned, and there's lots to do to make sure everyone is comfortable. Lilo's pretty anxious, and Clara's getting up in years, so I make time in my work schedule to return home midday to check on them if I'm out and about. Depending on your pet's needs, I'm flexible in terms of schedule. :) It's important to me that you are confident in your pets' safety and comfort. I will not take dogs outside without a leash, unless they are in a fenced-in yard, and I don't let cats outside unleashed on principle as I believe this makes them a danger to themselves, other cats, and smaller animals. You can expect photos from me of your pets if you'd like them, and if they let me I'll happily clean out eye-boogers, snuggle with them, and ensure that they have love and companionship during the stressful time you're away.

About: I grew up with dogs and love all breeds. I spent my youth volunteering at a doggy day care and always loved the movie "Best in Show". I've researched and spent time with many diverse breeds with a unique understanding of their various temperaments and requirements. I have training skills and patience to give your pal the attention and love they deserve while you're away. I currently work part-time remotely on my own business as an astrologer. I am able to be very present and attentive while in your home. I make sure to learn all you and your pet's preferences for expectations (like if they are allowed on furniture, or how they are with other dog's / social time). I provide daily check ins so you have peace of mind that all is well.

He sent us a picture of a fetch game with my dogs. My cat liked him too. We have already booked Matthew for additional petsitting dates—win!

FAQs for House Sitting - Cochiti Lake

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 265 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cochiti Lake. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cochiti Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cochiti Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cochiti Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cochiti Lake. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
