About: I spend my free time volunteering at a local dog rescue. I am a born & raised Midwesterner who is a true "Dog Mom." I am a retired teacher who has lived in SW Florida for four years now. I have embraced the Florida lifestyle even taking my dog out in a "doggy stroller!" I have been trusted to watch and care for friends' dogs and cats for days at a time or even weeks while they've gone on vacation. I love their pets like my own. I am picky about who watches my own dog, so I would like any pet owner to know that their little furball is in good hands while they're away. I work part-time so I have flexibility during the week. I am also available on weekends. I'm willing to discuss any specific time needs with pet owners as well. I am a self-described "early bird" which allows me to walk dogs when the weather is cooler. My dogs have always had full run of the house except when I'm away and then they are put into a crate (mostly for their own protection so they're not eating or chewing on items they shouldn't!) or trying to jump on or off furniture. My dogs have always been treated extremely well. When I wake up early in the morning, my dog goes out first thing, gets a treat, then gets fed breakfast. We usually do a small walk. I take into account the age and wellness of the dog. I had an elderly dog who used to walk two miles every day, but then he slowed down a lot, so I adjusted his walk distances. I also adjust to the Florida heat! No walks during the hottest hours! I like to get out early and walk. Speaking of walking or playing - my favorite motto is: A tired dog is a happy dog!

About: Over the past 4 years, I’ve helped take care of a family member’s dog (golden retriever) which included house sitting, daily walks, playing fetch, vet visits and grooming appointments. About: Cats, dogs and bunnies were household pets since I can remember. At age 13 a small backyard farm started to emerge as my parents bought me my first horse named Cindy. But we didn't stop at one. The herd grew with several horses and ponies, ducks, chickens and goats. Our little family farm in Connecticut was a great place to grow up and learn about animal care. My cats were very special to me growing up and we also always had a dog in the family, my moms favorite pet. As I grew up and had children of my own the small farm continued on. Fast forward many years and pets later, My husband, two cats and I have retired in Southwest Florida. I'm a very active and fit 65 year old. I have an extensive background in fitness and dance. I still teach bellydance twice a week and perform. I also have lots of spare time and would enjoy caring for your precious pets while you're away. We have two beautiful shelter cats whom we adore and I will show your pet the same adoration I currently have a small part time business teaching bellydance classes which leaves me lots of time to fill. I would love to fill it with a passion of mine which is animals and caring for them. I care for your pets in your home. You can trust me to be careful in your home and to keep it tidy while your away. I will go the extra mile if you need me to do something around the house as well.

About: I have volunteered for years at animal rescues. I am well experienced in pet care, especially good at giving medication. I'm caring, loving and attentive. I have a six year old daughter who will not be caring for your pets, but is very respectful, well behaved, gentle and loving towards animals. I am self employed from home so I will always be around. I have one six year old girl who is well behaved and very loving and respectful of pets. I care for them in my home, which is cat friendly and clean. No outdoors for cats. I am always home so they'll never feel lonely.

About: I’ve been a dog lover since I was a baby. My family has always had a dog in the home. We have had a Boarder Collie, German Shepherds, Labs and mixed pups. I have always been very loving with my pets and have always trained them to not be loud except in dangerous situations. I love to just spend time, walk, and play catch with dogs. Right now we are super busy with sports and school but I stay at home so I’m available most of the time. I am available during the weekends and will be able to have a dog at our home or can come to your home. Whatever makes your dog happiest! I have a huge fenced in yard which is perfect for dogs to run around and play. I do spray for bugs and ants so that isn’t an issue. I do have lizards that our puppies love to chase. I do have a pond in our backyard but we have a fence. The dogs like to watch the birds and bunnies. I do pick up doggy duties right after so don’t worry about your buddy trying to eat others. I know some dogs do that. YUCK! I do have older children that love all pets, however I will always be 100% responsible your pets.

About: The love of my life was my 200lb St. Bernard Henry, he has since passed, he was my everything, my grown and gone 7 children just loved him so much and I miss the cuddles and kisses. I have since bothered my friends of pets to let me love them while they are away and now have a golden retriever I share with my sons father part time and that’s not enough lol, please consider me to love on your fur babies while you are away, they will be spoiled. I’m in the process of semi retiring and have days and evenings available to share with your babies during that to time just let me know. I have a great area for pets indoors or outdoors and also a safe place for the dogs to run. If you prefer them to be indoors just let me know what your details are.

About: I’ve owned large and small dogs all my life. I’ve also taken care of my friend’s dogs the last few years while they traveled. My dog could use some other doggie friends too. I work from home so I’m able to have dogs stay with me. I walk the dogs twice a day plus time outside in the yard. I have a fenced yard, plenty of toys and my dog to keep your pets company. There’s plenty of space in my office for them to lay near me while work as well.

About: I’ve watched various animals over the years for friends, relatives, and neighbors. I absolutely adore dogs and currently have 3 in our home. I can handle most medicines if that is needed. I’ve raised 2 puppies and had a senior dog so I know how to handle both. Our one dog takes medication so I am handy in that as well. I am currently working full time but I am able to stop by before work, on my lunch break, and any time in the evening. I understand that spending time with your pup is important and I will make that time. I love going on walks or just playing inside or in the backyard. We have a fenced in yard and only use the side door to our home which leads to a lanai. There are 3 doors before they are able to actually get outside, so there is never any accidental dog escapes! We have 3 dogs currently and they like other dogs. Our corgi and black lab are great players! We also have kiddos that are over every other weekend right now and they love to play with dogs. We eventually would like to start fostering 1 more dog!

Dawn was great at documenting Cashmere's glucose level (patience to get the blood draw is necessary and she was and gentle as well) and administering his insulin .... just all around very detailed in her notes and very appreciated! She sent pics too! Dawn moved any packages inside the house and was kind enough to water a plant outside when we didn't get much rain.
