“Alexis was great! The cats were comfortable with her and she was very communicative. There was a plumbing disaster that came up unexpectedly and she notified me immediately + waited around to let maintenance in.”

About: I grew up in a multi-dog household. I’ve been pet sitting for neighbors and family friends since I was 11! Animals have always had a special place in my heart. I volunteered with an organization for 4 years raising and training service dogs in training. I have experience with puppies as young as 2 weeks (volunteer health checks) all the way to seniors at 15 years old! I also have grown up with cats and have pet sat for cats, so I have experience with cats of all ages as well! I’m currently in school and have classes Mondays from 9:30-1:50 and Tuesdays from 9-10:50. Wednesdays I have class along with a weekly commitment, so I’m unfortunately unavailable. Thursdays-Sundays I’m usually available all day! My experience with training dogs (and dogs in general) has taught me all about reading body language, picking up on their cues, handling them on walks and in the home, along with training basic commands. I am very attentive and will treat your fur baby as my own!

“Allie took great care of Molly again with no issues! We appreciated her being available during the holiday weekend and loved seeing the sweet pictures of Molly playing and cuddling. Thank you!”

My dog Rudy is very friendly and can accompany on visits if permitted or requested. I have a park close to my house and can commute to any area for a needed walk.
“Andrea has done an incredible job at letting our shy pup go at his own pace. We also appreciate her excellent communication with us about how each visit has been going and in arranging schedules. Darwin is more and more excited each time she visits!!”

About: I’ve had pets my entire life and have always loved caring for animals. I’ve been watching and caring for pets for friends, family, and others since I was around 12 years old. My experience includes overnight stays, daily pet sitting, dog walking, feeding, playtime, and making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. I also have a little pup of my own named Gus, and he’s a weenie dog! 🐶 He’s definitely my best little buddy, and having him has given me even more experience with the day-to-day care, routines, and attention that dogs need. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, cuddles, and love. I understand how important it is to have someone you trust taking care of your pets, and I’m happy to provide updates and pictures so you can feel comfortable while you’re away! Pet care fits really well into my daily schedule! I have a flexible schedule and am available for walks, drop-ins, daycare, and overnight stays. Since I have my own dog, Gus, I’m used to keeping a consistent routine and making sure pets get the care and attention they need. I’m happy to work with each owner to follow their pet’s normal schedule, including feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and lots of cuddles. Whether I’m caring for a pet in my home or in their home, I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for the past 10 years, and caring for them is something I truly enjoy. I recently lost my 2 beloved dogs after nearly a decade together, which inspired me to sign up as a volunteer at my local animal shelter so I can continue spending time caring for dogs and giving them the love and attention they deserve. I understand that every dog has a unique personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm, reassuring companion, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I'll treat your dog with the same patience, kindness, and attention that I'd want for my own. I work weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but I'm available before and after work every day, as well as all evenings and weekends. I'll make sure your dog receives plenty of love, attention, and quality care. I can also step away from work, on my lunch break, depending on the day. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. My husband and I own our home. I have a securely fenced yard for safe outdoor play and will always provide close supervision, plenty of affection, and a calm, loving environment where your pup can feel right at home. I can also crate your pup if needed!
About: I’ve been pet sitting professionally for around 5 years now and am very comfortable with most kinds of animals. I have experience in training pups, senior care, and medication administration. I’ve cared for animals with tumor-induced epilepsy, blastomycosis, diabetes, recovery from surgery, etc. In other words, I am prepared to care for your animal in whatever capacity they require. I work a part-time position that requires Saturday evenings and at least one 8 hour shift in the morning through the week. Other than that, I am available to be with your companions at all times of the day as per need. I will care for your pet in whatever capacity necessary. If they must be crate trained at night, fed daily medicine, diaper changed, regular training practice in basic skills (sitting, etc.), frequent walks, bathed, trimmed, I'm your girl. I’ll do my best to make them comfortable with me and happy in your home (even if that means love from a distance for some of our timid fellas).

You’ll receive regular photo and video updates so you always know your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I also make it a priority to keep routines consistent to help reduce stress and make the experience as comfortable as possible for your pet. About: Growing up with Steve Irwin as my role model, I have personal experience with pets of many varieties, including cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, crabs, etc. I have professionally worked as a cat sitter for 2 years, as well as experience working in a vet clinic as a receptionist and assistant. I have experience with befriending the most timid pets, playing with the best of ‘em, and providing oral and topical medications. I am the full time pet parent to my two cats, Mabel and Luna! I am a mental health therapist by day and an animal lover all the time! I can be available for overnight stays on the weekends and for drop in visits/walks in the morning before 9am or after 4pm. I maintain a calm, loving demeanor with every pet I care for. Much like humans in therapy, I meet the pet where they are and encourage them by building a strong rapport. In your home, I will be respectful of the space by keeping it clean, as well as towards your pet!

About: I am a lifelong animal lover and have had multiple dogs, two cats, and a ball python for over 13 years! In addition to my experience as a pet owner, I have also volunteered at the Cincinnati Zoo in various capacities for 3 years now, where I have learned techniques in animal care relating to a variety of species from mammals to reptiles to birds. I am currently pursuing a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with the hope to some day work with animals professionally. I was a member of my high schools zoology and marine biology clubs for all 4 years and also founded a beekeeping club. I am currently a college student looking to pet sit during school breaks. I will be in town and available December 13-31 of this year. I offer free meet and greets and I will not have another job at this time and so can be quite flexible to you/your pets needs. I can come over at regular time frames to walk, provide food and water, play, and spend time with your pet. I also offer overnight stays and can accommodate irregular schedules.

I have a flexible work schedule and enjoy being productive and active in my free time. I’m here to help in any way I can! Safety and trust are paramount to me. About: I'd always dreamed of growing up to become a vet, and I came close when I worked at multiple animal hospitals on/off for years! While I was working though I picked up a few pet sitting jobs on the side and realized I loved the one on one care that came with it. Saving animals lives is great, but snuggling, playing, feeding, and loving on them is even better! I'm currently working full time as a petsitter, so I have just about 24/7 availability! I can do visits, daily boarding, and even overnight stays! I can do many things required for any care needed, like changing diapers, and admistering medications! I currently have a routine with a few clients that I do daily visits with. I have also had one of those said clients do a week of boarding when her mom was away recently! I do have pets of my own, but they can be completely separated from yours if need be.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
