“Absolutely wonderful and reliable !! Went out of his way to care for my birds and cat while I was away . Went the extra mile and used his own timer so my birds would have their lights on during the day. A really great guy !!”

“Markie did a great job with our cats while we were away. We know they got lots of love and attention and everything was tip-top when we got back! Would recommend!”

“Michelle was great with our scaredy-cat kitties. She even got them to come out to see her a couple of times, so they must have felt comfortable with her. And she took their pictures so we could see them when we were out of the country. She did a great job for us.”

“Ashlyn was great. She came 4x a week for 5-6 weeks when I was out of state. She stayed and played with my cat for a bit and didn't just feed, clean, and run. I will 100% use her again.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was young it has always been a passion of mine. I was always the person people relied on to let sit because people know their pets will be in good hands. I love taking walk with my pets , playing with toys, and anything else to make my pet happy. I work part time working from home currently so I will be able to give your pet my undivided attention and it’s never hard to fit pet sitting into my daily routine if anything it makes it more exciting. I will follow all instructions about caring for your animal so if I am at your home you can rest assure that your animal will feel no changes with me caring for them.
“Elizabeth was absolutely AMAZING! She took such great care of my fur babies. I got to fully enjoy my vacation because I knew my cats were in good hands. We can't thank Elizabeth enough 😊😊😊”

“We had Lexy do drop ins to give medicine to our pet duck. She did such a great job- giving medicine to a sick duck is not an easy task! Lexy was great at communicating and made sure our girl got the care she needed. I’d absolutely recommend her to provide care (even to unusual pets)!”

About: This account is shared by two people! Alex and Hickory both have 10+ years of pet owning experience, including casual pets, breeding, and show animals. Animals are a large part of both of their lives, and one of the many things that bring them purpose in life. At 19 and 20 years old, both sitters have above average experience for their ages. Hickory is certified in dog training, animal husbandry, and herpetology. Alex is not certified, but has plenty life experiences and volunteer hours at animal shelters such as South Hills Pet Rescue. What animals can we care for? : Dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, fish (both saltwater and freshwater), bearded dragons, geckos, snakes. What animals can we NOT care for? : Monitor lizards, birds, farm animals, bite risk pets, pets needing injected medication. Both sitters are working part time, and have plenty of time to care for your pets. If anything were to come up, owner and calendar will be updated. We own two dogs with PTSD, and are currently in the process of adopting a stray cat with dead tail. Our pets are fed breakfast and dinner, given oral medication, and are given ample time to play outside. Our aquatic pets are fed once daily with fasting on Sundays, and their water is tested and changed weekly.
About: My partner Jack and I love caring for pets! Both of us have been caretakers for pets practically our whole lives, including senior pets and pets with special needs, in addition to small animals like rodents and birds. Whoever you need help with, we’re more than capable. We are so excited to get to know your pets. With us, your pets will get all the attention and exercise they need during your busy day. We are both very attentive to your pets needs and do our best to make them feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. We know just how important your companion is to you, so safety is taken into consideration at all times. We keep dogs on leashes at all times when letting them go outside. I work as a barista at a coffee shop and Jack is an employee at Pitt. Together our schedules allow us to have at least 1 person home for most of the day. On rare occasions when neither of us are home, at most we are away for 3-4 hours. We have a large yard with a lead and 2 cats. Our house is moderately sized, with room for playing and relaxing. We are attentive to feeding schedules and potty breaks.
“Ryan was an excellent find! Pleasant, dependable, and responsive, he did a fantastic job of taking care of my three cats while we were away for almost two weeks. Not only did he take care of my boys, he also brought in all the packages that we received while we were gone. He will be my first call when I need a pet care from here on out. Thanks Ryan!!”

“Kaylah is great! This was my first booking with her and I found her to be kind, reliable and attentive to detail. She was also very flexible when I had some unexpected changes to my schedule, which I appreciated. I am new to the area and have some travel coming up in the future - it's a relief to know that someone like Kaylah is nearby to take care of my kitties while I am away.”

“Sheena has always been so great with both our dogs! Our dog Jake has trouble getting along with some people but she took the time to come have a little meet and greet with him before we left for our trip and he absolutely loved her! She is extremely reliable and gives regular updates. Absolutely recommend!”

“Carly has been so wonderful and reliable for our dog, Phoebe! She has provided weekly drop ins for a couple of months and one long overnight stay so far, which she extended a night on short notice for us. She provides us with consistent updates and communication and Phoebe is always a happy girl after each of her visits. We highly recommend Carly, she’s been one of our best Petsitters to date.”

“Sooo lucky to have found Rebecca. She has been phenomenal. I know I am leaving my little one in great hands every time I need to travel for work. By little I mean my 110lb baby. I can't say enough great things about Rebecca I was always nervous leaving my little guy with someone since he can be a handful, but I know I don't have to worry about him when I am not around. I am sure you will be just as happy as I am.”

About: I have taken care of two large breed dogs for over a year. I brought them into my home when they were puppies, and cared for them as they grew into adult dogs. For dog walking, I am able to walk one or two dogs at one time. When walking my own dogs, sometimes I would like to go for a little run just to make sure the pups get the exercise they need. For dog sitting, I like to let the pup(s) out for plenty of bathroom breaks. I will do everything I can to ensure that your pet is well-taken care of. I will be sure to provide a good amount of playtime for your pet to make sure he or she is having a good time! I'm currently working a shift evening schedule on Thursday-Saturday, so I have plenty of time during the traditional work week to look after your pets! I have a fenced yard and would love to spend time with your dog or cat! I would love to play games with your pet, take them on walks, and will be incredibly watchful over them to make sure they don't get into trouble.

Lindsey was great with our cats while we were out of town for a week. She sent plenty of pictures during check ins and they looked so happy to have someone hanging out with them. Everything was well looked after and I'll definitely reach out to her again next time we need a sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
