“Zoe was great! She came over for a meet and greet and rolled with the punches as I ended up getting locked out of the apartment (lol!) She was very respectful of the space and the needs of my dog! She sent pictures and updates and was comfortable getting him in and out of his crate. I will definitely be reaching out to her again to watch my dog!”

“Kass took good care of my cats (and my plant!). Everything was in order when I returned, and communication was also consistent throughout. I would feel comfortable leaving them in her care again.”

“Meghanne is wonderful! She provides excellent care for my Great Pyrenees and I never have to worry about her while I’m away. She was also great about giving her her allergy meds. It’s so good to find someone who is so dependable and provides so much love to my pup when I’m not here.”

“Jennifer is so kind and went above and beyond what our general drop-in request was. she also helped bring in mail and packages while we were gone. she kept the kittens fed and entertained. We will use her services any time she is available!!!”

About: I don't remember a time when I haven't had an animal in my life! I grew up with both cats and dogs and enjoy taking care of both! Family members, neighbors, and friends have had me watch their pets of all ages and breeds from puppies to senior dogs and yorkipoos to labs! My favorite breeds are golden retrievers and black cats! I love playing with pets and giving them the love and attention they deserve! I recently moved back home to the Syracuse area and looking to spend some time with pets in my free time while I'm searching through the job market! Happy to come to you and your pet to give them the care they need! All I need is clear instructions to provide care and I’ll be excited to shower your pet with attention and affection!
“Janyl was fantastic with my 19-year-old cat. She is very communicative, writes great updates, and sends lots of photos. She also went above and beyond to take care of a trash issue at my house. I’ll definitely reserve her services again.”

About: I grew up with two cats, so I love cats as well as dogs. In 2019, I adopted an incredibly loving, gorgeous lab pit named Lucy, and she keeps me very active every day! She was a rescue dog, and although we were originally fostering her, I bonded with her too much to let her go. I’ve always been a natural introvert and have been drawn to the compassion of animals. I believe we can learn more about our own humanity through caring for animals. I look forward to meeting your amazing furry friends! In addition to Rover, I substitute teach right now, and this allows me to have a very flexible schedule. It's closer to part-time than full-time. My priority is to listen and adapt to each client’s needs/preferences, so that both the client and their pets will be as happy as possible.
About: As a certified dog trainer, I provide structured, positive reinforcement-based training tailored to each dog’s needs. I also offer safe and enjoyable walks, ensuring dogs get both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I’m skilled at reading canine body language and behavior, which allows me to provide calm, engaging, and stress-free experiences for each dog I work with. Whether it’s training sessions, walks, or enrichment, I treat every dog with care, understanding, and empathy. My client hours are Tues.-Fri. from 12 to 8 pm, and Sat. 12 to 3 pm (excluding holidays). As a professional dog trainer, I love spending quality time with pets each day. In addition to caring for my own animals (two dogs, a cat, and several chickens!), I work with shelter dogs and training clients, giving me extensive hands-on experience with dogs of all ages and temperaments. I love providing safe, attentive, and empathetic care, whether it’s through training sessions, walks, drop-ins, or enrichment activities. I offer in-home training sessions, Adventure Training sessions, and walks, always making the safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet a priority. All training is based on positive reinforcement (R+) methods, ensuring dogs feel motivated, engaged, and confident while learning. During walks, I make sure each dog is leashed, closely monitored, and walked in a safe environment. Communication is a top priority—I provide updates on behavior, progress, and next steps, so you can rest assured that your pet is in capable, attentive, and compassionate hands. All walks include loose-leash reinforcement.

About: I have grown up around pets my whole life! Dogs, cats. I loved getting to know them all and take care of them. There personalities are all different much like a human and I am always excited to see who they really are. I am looking to get a part time job within the next two weeks. So more than not I will be able to watch and play with my new friends more! I have been around many dogs before even ones that are more aggressive. Over time I have started to learn the signs of two dogs who are uncomfortable with each other. I would never leave a dog with another dog that isn’t comfortable. I can crate the dog or have them there at different times.
“Our overall experience was fantastic. We felt like we didn’t have to worry about how things were going and the daily check in updates were just what we needed in order to know our dog was doing fine. For our particular middle class lifestyle, we would only use this type of service every once in a while.”

“Thomas was wonderful with our two kitties. He checked in on them daily and provided us with pictures and updates that were so appreciated. He truly has a gift with our four legged friends!”

“I will HIGHLY recommend Elaina. She is awesome with my two cats, taking the extra effort to try to make friends with my skiddish girl, and giving extra love to my friendly girl. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Elaina again in a heartbeat.”

“Katie was great! She sent me pictures of my two cats while I was out on a cruise. She made sure the automatic feed/litterbox and everything was working. Don't have to worry about your animals while you are away at all!”

“Alison and Rob did a great job with our cats! Very attentive and they spent a lot of quality time to ensure they were all cared for. Would recommend!”

“Was great with our dogs and seemed to love her. Came right on time every day and went above and beyond with cleaning up their accidents and tiring them out on their walks and letting us know of any issues or needs. Will use again in the future”

“Christopher was very professional. He took great care of my Kitty. He communicated with me regularly with updates , questions and photos. He did a great job. He played with her and gave her lots of attention.”

“Adriana provided thoughtful summaries after each visit that always reassured me that my cats were happy and in great hands. I would absolutely book with her again.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
