“Livvi is very good with the Rush, Poppy, and Charlie. The pets were glad I came home but were very comfortable with Livvi when I was away. I will hire her again when I plan another trip. I am comfortable with her. She was extremely good with daily pictures and messages with me.”

“Christy was great!!! Our pup is not easy to deal with and anxious around new people but they got along right away!! Provided photo updates and felt safe leaving Rollo with Christy. Definitely recommend and will book again in the future.”

“My dog loves Sarah and she loves him. He is usually anxious when I leave but not when Sarah takes care of him. I never worry about Wolfy or my house when Sarah stays with him. She is very good about texting updates and pictures. She has stayed with Wolfy many times over the past 2 and a half years, from one night to over a week. My house is always clean and orderly with kitchen and bathroom clean when I return. Sarah is very good natured, confident and calm. I think that’s why Wolfy is so calm around her. I recommend her without hesitation. She likes cats, too.”

“Cailee was great with my dog, Carlos (who can be a handful)! She sent great video and photo updates throughout the stay, and was super accommodating about scheduling. She went out of her way to stick to his routine and make him as comfortable as possible. I would gladly have her stay with him again!”

“Mary was so sweet and great with our Dane. She took good care of her. She cares about your animals and we trusted her with our baby. Will definitely go with her again!”

“Kristen was amazing while looking after our two fur babies for a week. Attentively, she noticed our older lab had a limp and kept us informed of his progress. She was kind enough to send videos and photos throughout her stay. We truly appreciated how she looked after our dogs and our home as if it was hers.”

“Rachel was friendly and communicative, and she took wonderful care of our dog, bird, and house. She sent detailed updates, and it was obvious to me that our pup enjoyed having her around and was really bonding with her. In addition to that, the house was as clean as we left it, maybe even cleaner, which I really appreciate. I will definitely turn to her again in the future when I need another sitter.”

“Rose was very attentive and made sure she understood what all of our pets needed while we were away. She sent us updates and pictures to let us know all was okay, which is greatly appreciated. Our cats are usually super stressed when we get back from a trip, but this time they were so much calmer (and less mad at us for leaving them lol). We will definitely be using Rose again!”

“Aurora was the absolute BEST! My 2 doggos loved her. She was so communicative and sent lots of pictures and updates. My dogs were so happy and perfectly taken care of! Would highly recommend her!”

“Gabby and Kade took care of our house, two large dogs, and our cat while we were on vacation for a week. We received regular updates (3x per day) with pictures. They walked the dogs regularly and didn’t bat an eye at their large size. The communication was excellent. When we got home, the house was cleaner than when we left it. Don’t hesitate to hire Gabby and Kade.”

I also have experience transporting pets in the car. I thoroughly enjoy long or quick walks or hanging out with the pups at your home :) I am available every day of the week! My only UNavailable times are (including my driving time): - Tuesday 11:15 - 5:15 - Wednesday 9:15 - 1:15 - Thursday 9:45 - 3:00 I spend time with your pups following instructions very carefully . I care about movement and exercise for your pup, as well as finding out their music tastes! I care for them with cuddles and scratches and personal attention. I also will play outside in the fresh air with your doggo. I never give people food to any dog and will rush to grab something off the floor if dropped to get it before they do. I make sure they have enough water in a clean bowl regularly and never have to hold their pee :) if requested, I will pick up poop out of the yard and definitely on a walk or playing at the park. Dogs are so special to us and deserve the best care!

About: Animals and animal care has always been my passion, I’m currently working towards getting my bachelors degree in animal science and zoology! I’ve taken care of all kinds of animals and I’ve done a lot of rescue and rehoming! I love animals, from cats to fish, lizards and birds. I’m crazy about all of them. I’ve cared for babies and elderly of a lot of different species and I pride myself in always doing my best in taking care of all their needs. Ive got quite a few of my own babies at the moment but they’re all very friendly and adjust easily to new animals. I don’t currently work because I’m working towards getting my bachelors degree in animal science/zoology, so I’m home 24/7 to care for my own pets and school, I have two crate trained dogs, five cats, two frogs, two birds, fish, and a hamster, so I’m basically always cleaning and playing or training one or the other! While I live in an apartment, we have multiple fenced dog parks and ample walking area away from the roads for walkies with the dogs, my apartment is pretty spacious especially in the living room and animals are allowed around the whole apartment. If I were to watch your babies at your residence I would stick strictly to the rules you set for me and never overstep your boundaries or rules.
“Jessica was great! Very communicative and went the extra mile with check out - started the dishwasher, took the trash cans out for pickup, picked up dog poop, and the house was super clean when we came back! The dogs were calm and we felt they did great with house sitting versus boarding them. Will 100% book again very soon! Thank you again, this was a great experience for us.”

“Claudia was amazing, I have never left my dogs with a stranger before and I was so nervous. She was always very responsive, she agreed to a prompt meet and greet with my dogs and I and they loved her right away. Even when I had to adjust the booking pretty close to the reservation she accommodated no problem. 1,000% recommend!”

“Jerad was absolutely fabulous with my pups and even went out of his way to work with me when I made a scheduling error. He sent pics and video and made sure both I and my dogs were 100% comfortable with everything before I went out of town. I will definitely be using him again!”

This was out first time hiring Kathleen to take care of our pups overnight! She was absolutely fabulous, followed their routine, send us pictures and even play with them more than we usually do. Very thoughtful person, she knows what she is doing. 5 stars for taking care of them and also 5 stars for communication. We will definitely have Kathleen back.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 475 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Chilco. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chilco walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chilco maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chilco choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chilco. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
