Thank you for the time attention and walks. You can gave Alani while we were gone. I appreciate the photo updates and some of the silly and funny things she was doing.

Groot sure loved having her here. He seemed to open up to her the first time she met him and that made me comfortable leaving. He’s a needy boy and I’m sure all his needs were met plus some! Thanks❤️

Livvi was great caring for our two cats! The cats are still getting used to each other so required extra care and monitoring. One cat has special medical needs requiring medication and care. Livvi was great with them and communicated so well with me throughout. She left the house and cats in wonderful order and we are so grateful! I was nervous about being away, but now I feel so much better leaving in the future if I can book Livvi!

Cailee was an excellent dog and cat sitter. She stayed at our house with our dog and two cats for four days and took great care of them. They all seemed happy on our return and the house was just how we left it. We would definitely hire Cailee again.

Kat was so great with Olive. She took the time to really get to know her and learn her quirks. The communication was perfect and she was very accommodating when my flight home was delayed. When I got home my house was clean and perfect. Olive was happy to see me and not at all stressed. I highly recommend Kat and will definitely be booking with her again!

Kristen treated our dogs and home like her own. We received regular updates that included smiling dog pictures. The dogs got to do their favorite activates, chasing a ball, having a nice brushing and then relaxed in the evening knowing someone was there for them., which of course allowed us to not worry about them. Kristen will be our go to when we have to be out of town! Thank you Kristen! Dave and Crystal

Laura is hands down the best dog sitter we have ever had for Murphy. A week before we had a horrific experience with another Rover we booked for a last minute trip, and we just prayed Laura was as great as she seemed during our meet and greets. She exceeded all expectations. She was extremely communicative and sent frequent updates everyday. We never once had to worry about the safety or wellbeing of Murphy. She was incredibly caring and intuitive when it came to caring for him. Murphy is extremely affectionate and requires lots of cuddles and attention, and Laura never failed to deliver. We could tell he was well loved while we were gone for 2 1/2 weeks. This is the longest we have been away from our boy and I am so grateful that we found an angel like Laura. She also took care of our house and it looked impeccable when we returned. Thank you so very much! Laura will be our number one choice for any future services.

About: My father taught me about life by giving me pets since I was able to walk. Animals are a gift and should be treated like they are family. I work full time, but I still have plenty of time to take care of your pets. Having a small farm myself, my kids, who are older, pitch in to give animals all the care and love they need! I have a fenced in property and enclosed kennels for exercise. I also enjoy taking them on walks and playing ball with them outside. Any specific requests will try to be honored…

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats (and other animals) since I was a kid. A proud godmother of a Yorkshire Terrier, a sweet gentleman. Got on Rover during college, and I absolutely loved it. My situation makes it hard to raise my own pets, so I take the chance to be around them whenever I could. I work remotely, which gives me the flexibility and time to provide attentive care for animals, including long walks and companionship. This allows me to be consistently present and available while pet sitting. I’m not currently able to host pets in my own space, but I take the time to get familiar with each new environment so I can provide the best possible care. I make communication with owners a priority, especially when learning the details of a new home or routine.

Crystal was great with our pups! She calmed a very anxious Ruby and I could tell when we got home that the dogs really like her. She sent us a couple of pictures throughout the evening and that helped me ;>)). I felt confident in the care of our dogs and our home. We will definitely be asking Crystal to pup-sit again and highly recommend her!

About: I am a school counselor, a mom, an adventurer, and a huge pet lover! We recently adopted a sweet Pitty named Bruce and are head over heels in love with the guy. I am no longer able to accommodate pets for daycare or overnights, but am happy to still check in at your home and go for walks :) I grew up with 6 shih tzus, 5 ferrets, 2 parakeets, and a mink. My pets were a part of our family and were always well cared for. I personally have owned a pit bull (now 2), a husky malamute mix, a german short hair, a terrier, a ferret, 4 cows, 4 ducks, 3 pigs, and 12 chickens. I have experience caring for animals of all ages. I enjoy going for walks and hikes and am looking forward to having some pet pals to tag along. I am patient, flexible, and open to new opportunities to bond with different types of pets. I'm available most weekends and holiday breaks. For longer durations please send me a message and I'll try my best to work with your schedule. I love the outdoors and would love to take your pet on some short hikes around local parks with your permission of course. When doing drop ins and walking your pet I am always happy to play fetch, tug of war, get in all the snuggles, and soak up all the fun.

Kaitlyn was amazing! This is the first time we used Rover and from the first initial contact and meet and greet, we immediately felt like Kaitlyn would do well with our pups. Our older dog gets quite a bit of anxiety when we leave which can turn into aggression sometimes, but Kaitlyn wasn’t afraid and was understanding/aware of how to handle the high stressed/anxious dog. She was comfortable giving anxiety meds as well. We will definitely be using Kaitlyn again and felt very relieved and comfortable having her watch our two dogs and house while we were away on vacation.

FAQs for House Sitting - Sturgeon

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 710 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sturgeon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sturgeon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sturgeon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sturgeon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sturgeon. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
