“Loved working with Brandon! I was a little nervous leaving my dog for the first time but Brandon let me tour the back yard, I felt like everything was secure and safe. Very responsive and I could tell my pup had a great day. She usually cries when I pick her up from grooming/vet/etc but she was super laid back today!”

“From the first day my puppy met him , his tail wouldn’t stop wagging. He was very gentle but also allowed Tank to be independent. I really appreciate him also working on commands with my baby as well. I will be utilizing him whenever I can”

“Murphy was so excited to go to Leslie’s for the day! It had been awhile since he stayed away from home. I told him he was going there and he ran to the door to wait until we were ready to leave! I never need to worry because I know he is getting wonderful care!”

“My dog did well in Austin’s care. He enjoyed playing with their dogs and came home happy! He provided updates and was quick to respond. Austin came recommended by three different people. I will definitely use him again.”

“100% would recommend S&J! I had an unique circumstance of coming from out of town for a family event and Sheila accepted my 8 month old pup, Reggie, for the day. She provided constant updates and made me feel comfortable leaving him for the day without them every meeting. Thank you so much!”

“We could not have ask for a more perfect experience with Susan. We wanted to go and enjoy Cleveland for the day and not have to worry about our dogs. She and her husband welcomed them into their home and we were able to have a worry free and fun day. When we picked them up they were tired and happy. What more could you ask for! We would highly recommend!!”

“Susan was great with Zeke. She even suggested a quick meet up the day before she has to meet my dog to make sure that my dog was OK with her dog. Excellent care. Thank you so much.”

“Sandra was a lifesaver. Accepted my emergency request at the last minute. Allowed me to pick up the dogs at an insane time of night (10:30pm). Her house is the perfect set up with a lovely fenced yard. She gets five gold stars!”

“We'd highly recommend Angie as a sitter! Our dog has pretty bad separation anxiety, and Angie made sure she felt comfortable while in her care. She's very attentive and provides lots of updates and pictures!”

“Al was amazing! We're so glad we've found someone that we can trust our dog with. Dom is a pretty cautious dog who right away asks for belly rubs from Al so if he trusts him, we do too. Al also sent us many videos and photos of Dom throughout the day which was so comforting to see him feel at home outside of home. We're very grateful to have found Al & Stacy with Dom's two new friends Bri and Sky. If you're nervous about leaving your fur family with someone, please try Al & Stacy out -they are people who actually know and love dogs.”

“Samantha is awesome! We are preparing for a long vacation so we wanted our puppy to get to know Samantha a long stay. Onyx came home very tired from playing! Thanks Samantha!”

About: I've owned and loved dogs all my life. I hate to leave my dogs at a kennel and think home dog sitting is a much better option. My goal is to make sure dogs don't feel abandoned when left temporarily, but rather give them the experience of a joyful vacation with "Grandpa Ron". I've almost never found a dog who didn't like me and have never found one I didn't like. I'm a widow, retired and living alone. I have plenty of time to devote to dogs who are left in my care. I schedule my own travel and outside activities so they are not at the same time when I am available for pet sitting. I limit the number of dogs I watch so that I can give full attention to each one. I have a large back yard, fully fenced, with plenty of squirrels for your furry friend to chase. I also give your dog full run of my house and he is allowed on my furniture and beds. I try to make myself available on holidays and popular travel times. If requested I offer pickup and delivery of your pet from your home.

“Daniel was fantastic!! Very kind and welcoming. He eased my worries of leaving my dog as soon as I met him. I can’t thank him enough for today. He really helped me out by watching my dog at the last minute. My dog loved him!! I don’t think he wanted to leave. Daniel sent me pictures of my dog having a great time at his house. Those pictures are priceless. My dog is smiling in them😊 I will definitely be using Daniel in the future. Thank you again Daniel. It was very nice meeting you!!”

About: I currently have a 4 year old mini Australian shepherd. My experience includes watching a puppy overnight, helping train a deaf dog, and taking neighbors dogs on walks. I am a teacher so I am available all of June-August to provide all day care for dogs or just walk dogs during the day. I provide a safe, loving, and comfortable home where dogs are treated like family. I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, walks, fresh water, meals on schedule, and lots of affection. I follow each dog’s routine and make sure they feel happy and relaxed while they’re away from home.
About: Hi there! My name is Jada. I am 26 years old and i am a graduate from Horizon Science Academy High! All my life i’ve LOVED dogs. I’ve had different dogs growing up. When i was growing up, i found myself spending more time with my dogs than actual people. I would watch movies with them and play with them! They made me feel safe and warm! Dogs are way better than humans in my opinion! I can make conversations with them, make them feel loved, and most importantly, make sure they’re cared for! I believe that everyone needs a companion/bff, even animals! That’s where i come in! Allow me to care and love for your dog as i would for my own! We will for sure make memories! I’m currently working part-time, so I’ll have tons of time to play with your pups! I always make sure to give all of my attention to the pups! I do not have a secluded yard, however I do have open field areas for your pups to run around in! There are tons of other dogs in my complex that are very loving and friendly!
“Andrew provided excellent care for our precious dogs. He kept them exercised, hydrated and rested. He sent pics and updates and made us feel so relaxed about our decision. Will definitely have Andrew watch our pups again!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Chesterland commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 522 sitters in Chesterland, 90% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
