My husband and I are retired so we are very flexible in our schedule and decided we want to do something meaningful and enjoyable in our retirement.

Safety, trust & environment
We have a large 1.5 acre lot with a pond on property. It is very serene and peaceful here. Our yard is only partially fenced so we keep the dogs on leash when walking outside. We make frequent potty breaks and like to take dogs for walks in the woods behind our house. They dogs usually sleep on a bed on the floor in our bedroom but will be crated if we have to leave the house for their own safety.

Information Sheila & Joseph H. would like to know about your pet
Is the dog housebroken. Any history of biting or aggression. Do they get along with other dogs. Are they crate trained. How much and what do they like to eat. What is their activity level. Any medications required. Are they ok being alone in the house for awhile. Where do they sleep. How do they behave in the car.
A typical day
I typically wake up and say "good morning" to my dog. Then it's out for a potty break, back for breakfast and maybe a treat and some hair brushing. Then we lounge around for awhile while I have my coffee, maybe read or do work on my laptop. In the afternoon we may go for a walk around the property or in the woods behind our house depending on the weather. In the evening we'll probably do more couch lounging while watching our favorite programs on TV, before the final potty break then off to bed. Together usually (sigh)

For the love of Dog
Pet care experience
I've had dogs off and on my entire life but it wasn't until we adopted our baby girl Coco that I really fell in love. We had 13.5 wonderful years with her, then after she passed we decided to foster dogs in her honor and have been doing this since Sept. 2020 with several local organizations. We have fostered 25 dogs and have sat 26 dogs to date, including puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with behavioral and medical special needs. Our pricing reflects the peace of mind of knowing that your pet is well cared for and part of our family during their stay with us. Or for in house sitting, we are mature, reliable and trustworthy and treat your home like our own. We look forward to hearing from you!

Reviews

100% would recommend S&J! I had an unique circumstance of coming from out of town for a family event and Sheila accepted my 8 month old pup, Reggie, for the day. She provided constant updates and made me feel comfortable leaving him for the day without them every meeting. Thank you so much!
Sheila & Joseph were wonderful ! Their communication and care for the dogs was exceptional !

Sheila & Joe took great care of Dixie. We didn’t want to leave Dixie at a kennel and have her in her crate too much. Sheila and Joe took care of Dixie like she was their own. Dixie came home very happy and I’m sure will be excited to see them again. Highly recommend Sheila and Joe

Sheila and Joe did a great job taking care of our dog, Louie. He was very happy when we returned to pick him up. They kept us informed on how he was doing and sent pictures.
