“Courtney was the first sitter I ever hired for my cat, and I couldn't have been more pleased. My cat showed great comfort with her, allowing me to fully enjoy my trip. Will definitely be booking again in the future!”

“She stopped by for a check in on my dogs while we were out of town. My dogs absolutely loved her, she was very responsive on needs that needed to happen for my dogs and even sent pictures of them! Would definitely recommend her to anyone needing their dogs taken care of!”

“Brittney was great. My normally shy cats instantly took a liking to her, and she took great care of them while I was out of town. Would definitely hire her again.”

About: I have owned and cared for more than 50 animals in my 38 years 🥰 I currently have a 3 year old cat, a 2 year old cat, and a 1 year old cat. I had 2 dogs over the course of almost 19 years (12 years old and 16 years old when they passed). I grew up with skunks, cats, dogs, hamsters, lizards, and more. I also have been fostering with local rescues for more than 10 years. Overall, I am just a big animal lover and find joy in watching other people's fur babies 🥰 I work from home full time, which allows me to have a flexible schedule. Evenings, weekends, and overnights can also be arranged. If you need anything overnight I prefer to stay at your home with your pets so they are comfortable and can stay in their normal routine. Let's discuss your needs! I am happy to follow whatever instructions you have for me to care for your furbabies! I know each pet is different. Generally, dogs go out to potty several times a day, as well as need fresh food and water daily. Cats also need fresh food and water daily, plus cleaning their litter boxes at least once a day.
“Joel is awesome. Super nice guy, good communicator, easy to work with & has taken great care of our pup. Gives solid updates at the end of each visit. He goes above and beyond while dropping in at your house. For example - our dog got into our garbage before one visit & Joel cleaned up all the trash off the floor. We appreciate the care he takes in looking after our pup as well as our home. Definitely recommend!”

About: I have a sweet beagle that was rescued 7 years ago. I am fully responsible for his care, including feeding, walking, bathing, nail trimming, etc. I always check him for ticks after visiting a park and know how to safely remove them. I enjoy going for long walks, especially in summer, so would be glad to give your dog exercise. My kids have had goats, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, and ducks, which are all fun to play with, and I would be glad to care for your less-typical pets, if needed. I have even cared for lizards and snakes. I am a teacher, so have loads of time available in the summer. During the school year, I am available most weekends and after 4 on weekdays. I always keep dogs on leash when walking them...you never know when a squirrel or other dog will come by or how they will react.
About: Even though we do not have dogs ourselves, I grew up with many rescue dogs. Friends and neighbors have trusted me to care for their pups! I love to play with them, take them for long walks, or just cuddle. I am a full-time university professor. During the school year, I work from home on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I am also available Tuesday and Thursday late afternoons evenings. I am happy to schedule weekend care. My summer (mid-May to mid-August) is much more open and flexible. I am available for multiple daily home visits, but not for overnights. Since I had a "super senior" cat who needed daily meds, I am punctual and diligent about care. I am excellent at paying attention to details. I give all animals attentive, loving care!
“Flora was the ideal for what I was hoping to find in this app! She was attentive and obviously very sweet to my boy - he was so sad to see her go! I appreciate how communicative and helpful she was, and look forward to having her back soon.”

“Anthony is fantastic, brings treats, toys and a ton of love for your animals. He even made smalll adjustments, of course letting us know first, to ensure if there was poor weather that day he timed it within a window so he could let our pups out without it pouring rain. Absolutely will use him in the future and I am certain our dogs loved their time with him.”
About: I have been a nurse for 30 years but worked for veterinarians and in a shelter setting prior to that. I have had pets all my life and have experience fostering dogs. I currently have dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, goats, and a pig. I have a lot of flexibility and can make most situations fit my schedule. I have my own vehicle and look forward to making your pet feel as comfortable as possible. I am happy to play with your dog or cat, provide exercise, food, and medication if needed. I can do multiple drop ins a day. I truly love animals and will try to connect with your pets so they feel safe with me.
“Adara was absolutely wonderful with Javi and Tamale! From the start, it was clear she genuinely cares about the dogs in her care — she was attentive, gentle, and really listened to everything I shared about their needs and routines. The regular updates she sent gave me total peace of mind while I was away. I came home to two happy, relaxed pups, which says everything. We will 100% be booking with Adara again — highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who treats your pets like her own!”
“Ben is the kindest, most diligent, pet sitter ever! He’s passionate in his love of animals. I want to give him the best review possible, but I also want to keep him all to myself .”

“Paula is great! She has been my go to for a number of years now. My pups love her and our new cat now too! She always sends photos of the wagging tails which puts me at ease while I'm gone. I know I can rest at ease knowing Paula is on the job!”

“Brandon was great! I knew he was going to be great fit since the meet and greet. Our dog Benji loves him. Milo will take a bit of time but I'm sure over the next few visits Brandon will win him over too.”

About: I've had dogs off and on my entire life but it wasn't until we adopted our baby girl Coco that I really fell in love. We had 13.5 wonderful years with her, then after she passed we decided to foster dogs in her honor and have been doing this since Sept. 2020 with several local organizations. We have fostered 25 dogs and have sat 26 dogs to date, including puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with behavioral and medical special needs. Our pricing reflects the peace of mind of knowing that your pet is well cared for and part of our family during their stay with us. Or for in house sitting, we are mature, reliable and trustworthy and treat your home like our own. We look forward to hearing from you! My husband and I are retired so we are very flexible in our schedule and decided we want to do something meaningful and enjoyable in our retirement. We have a large 1.5 acre lot with a pond on property. It is very serene and peaceful here. Our yard is only partially fenced so we keep the dogs on leash when walking outside. We make frequent potty breaks and like to take dogs for walks in the woods behind our house. They dogs usually sleep on a bed on the floor in our bedroom but will be crated if we have to leave the house for their own safety.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chesterland. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
