My dog loved going to Cindy’s for day care. I can tell because he always runs into her house when we get there. Cindy was great, sent lots of pics and actually got him to eat his food. Lots of other dogs to play with too. I felt at ease while I was at work knowing that he was taken care of! Look forward to sending him there again.

Amanda is hands down a five-star sitter! She watched my dog all day and did an incredible job managing her high energy; she really went above and beyond to get all those "zoomies" out, and I picked up a very happy, tired pup. Her communication was also top-notch throughout the day, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. If you’re looking for someone reliable who truly knows how to engage with dogs, I highly recommend booking with Amanda!

About: Meet & greet required for every new client • Home full-time • Only 1–2 guest dogs at a time • Large fenced backyard • Constant supervision • Family environment • Daily enrichment and play • Red Cross Pet First Aid & CPR Certified • 30 years of dog experience • Meet & greet required for every new client. Dogs have been a part of my life for over 30 years, and caring for them is one of my greatest passions. I've raised and trained my own dogs throughout my life, volunteered with pet shelters and continued expanding my knowledge by learning from professional dog trainers, attending obedience classes, and reading about canine behavior. As a stay at home Mom, I'm home most of the day allowing me to provide constant supervision, companionship, and individualized care. Your dog will enjoy a large, securely fenced backyard, a calm cage-free environment (unless you provide your own crate), and lots of love and attention. My goal is to provide a safe, loving home where your dog feels like part of the family while you're away. Where dogs spend the day like part of the family! Throughout the day I provide frequent potty breaks, playtime, companionship, and constant supervision. I intentionally accept a limited number of dogs so each one receives individualized attention. Enrichment activities; Snuffle mats Enrichment treats (owner approved, of course) Puzzle toys Backyard sniff sessions Fetch Sprinkler or kiddie pool (seasonal) One-on-one play and belly rubs Your furbaby spends the day: playing sniffing socializing supervised backyard time relaxing indoors napping showered with attention You pick up a tired, happy dog after! Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home has a large, securely fenced backyard for supervised outdoor play, and dogs are never left outside unattended. I provide a calm, cage-free environment unless you prefer to bring your dog's own crate. Baby gates are used to separate areas of the home when needed. I accept a maximum of two guest dogs at a time to keep the environment safe and low stress. All guest dogs must be at least one year old, house-trained, fully vaccinated, non-reactive toward other dogs, and most importantly are comfortable around children ages 4 and 7. I do not accept puppies or board cats. Meet-and-greets are required before every first booking to ensure everyone is comfortable and a good match.

I just recently found Ayme & I have booked with her twice in one week!!! I chose her because of her extensive positive reviews & for the fact that she has a nice backyard. Upon meeting her, she is warm, kind & welcoming. My adopted chocolate lab has separation anxiety, which has been getting worse. He becomes immensely anxious when I leave him and he can’t be left alone at all, or else he barks non-stop. He doesn’t love doggy daycare because it’s too many dogs, not enough human interaction and no outside time. He has done well with Ayme twice so far for day care and I look forward to using her services consistently to get him familiarized with her & being away from me. I totally recommend Ayme!

About: While I’m new to Rover, I’ve been caring for pets for friends and family for the past four years, in addition to caring for my own pets throughout my life. My previous dog, a Yorkie, gave me experience caring for a senior pet, including administering eye drops, following medication schedules, and managing a special diet. My current dog, Bella, is a 10-month-old AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy graduate who has taught me plenty about keeping up with energetic young dogs! I also share my home with two friendly, affectionate senior cats, so I’m comfortable caring for pets of different ages and temperaments. I work Sunday through Wednesday, so my Thursdays through Saturdays are completely dedicated to your pup! My black Labrador, Bella, and I typically walk 1–2 miles three times a day. On hotter days, we switch to indoor enrichment and training games instead of long walks. Whether your dog loves an adventure or prefers a slower pace, I’m happy to tailor their stay to their individual needs. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I only accept dogs that are a good fit for my home and Bella, and I always recommend a meet-and-greet beforehand. Whether I’m boarding, dropping in for a visit, or taking your pup on a walk, I’ll follow their normal routine and tailor my care to their energy level and needs. I’ll also keep you updated with photos so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind.

About: As a former teacher and parent, I bring a level of patience, structure, and attentiveness to dog care that closely mirrors what children need to feel safe, supported, and well-guided. I understand how important routine, consistency, and clear boundaries are—not just for behavior, but for overall well-being. Caring for dogs isn’t just something I do—it’s a part of my daily life. I have hands-on experience with multiple breeds and temperaments, including my own dogs: three Huskies, a Dalmatian, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This has given me a strong understanding of both high-energy and more sensitive breeds, and how to balance activity with proper rest. My home is run as a family-supported, professionally managed boarding environment. My husband, a veteran, is also present and supportive, adding an extra level of attentiveness and reliability to the care your dog receives. What truly sets me apart is the intentional structure I provide. Dogs in my care are guided through a balanced routine that includes play, socialization, rest, and calm time. This helps prevent overstimulation, anxiety, and unsafe behaviors. This type of environment doesn’t just keep dogs safe—it helps them build better habits. Dogs learn to settle, share space appropriately, and become more comfortable around other dogs in a controlled setting. For many dogs, this supports improvements in reactivity, socialization, and overall behavior, helping them become more confident and well-adjusted outside of the home. I strongly believe that dogs thrive when their needs are met through routine, rest, and structure. Just like people, they require downtime and sleep to stay balanced. A consistent schedule helps prevent stress and overstimulation, creating a calmer, happier experience. I have experience caring for dogs with a variety of needs, but I am intentional about ensuring that each dog is a good fit for my environment, so I can maintain a safe, structured, and positive space for every dog in my care. Pet care is my full-time focus, and my daily schedule is built entirely around the dogs in my care. I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to provide consistent supervision, frequent potty breaks, scheduled walks, outdoor play, and one-on-one attention. Dogs are cared for on a structured routine that includes activity, feeding, and designated rest periods to keep them balanced and comfortable. I’m able to maintain a calm, organized environment where dogs receive reliable care, attention, and structure every day. I provide care in a structured, well-managed home designed for safety, balance, and low stress. As an owner of 5 dogs, 3 different breeds who are trained, I know what dogs need to thrive, feel loved, and thrive socially. While dogs are treated with love and attention, this is not a free-roam environment. I operate a crate-structured system that allows each dog to rest, reset, and avoid overstimulation while also keeping all dogs safe. In my home: • Dogs are comfortably crate trained • Dogs are crated during rest periods, overnight, and when unsupervised • Dogs are rotated for safe, controlled interaction • Dogs are never left to freely roam together without supervision This setup allows me to safely care for multiple dogs while still providing individual attention and a calm atmosphere. For safety: • Dogs must be non-aggressive toward people and other dogs • No history of biting or unsafe behavior • Dogs must be able to remain calm when confined • Collar or harness is required at all times This environment is best suited for dogs who are used to structure, routine, and boundaries.

Brenda did such an amazing job with little Rocky. This was our first time having someone dog sit in their house and we felt very confident he was in good hands. She sent so many update and pic/videos so we knew he was doing well. I highly recommend Brenda as she cares so much for the dogs in her care. So nice having that peace of mind.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Chesterfield commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 594 sitters in Chesterfield, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
