“Maggie did a great job walking our two dogs. She is responsive to requests, arrives on time, and our dogs (Husky and Maltese) were comfortable around her. She demonstrated good experience interacting with our dogs and taking them on their walks. We won't hesitate to use her again as our future walking needs arise.”

“Angela has restored my trust in Rover! After a bad experience she is exactly what my Teddy boy needs! Great with communication and takes really fantastic picture of my pooch! I couldn't ask for a more awesome person to watch my pet. Angela: Teddy and myself salute you for your great work you've done here!”

“Katirna was a lifesaver when we needed a walker while visiting Blue Ridge for a wedding. She was so sweet and patient with our senior dog to the point where she took him out twice just to accommodate his slow walking. We highly recommend her to anyone living or visiting this area!”
About: Stephanie "Stevie" is experienced with managing the special needs of high-anxiety and/or reactive dogs. She has rescued and rehabilitated 3 dogs of her own, and 6 cats. She is an active volunteer at the local animal shelter, helping with adoption events and enrichment activities. Stevie has been a pet-sitter since she was 12 years old. She started with plants and birds, and now 20 years later, can work with any animal, including ones that require bottle feedings, complex medication schedules, or homestays up to 2 weeks. Farm animals too! Chickens, ducks, and goats! She was a camp counselor for 3 summers and also conducted a work exchange at a homestead farm for 1 summer. She successfully worked for Trusted Housesitters but has switched to Rover for more local opportunities. I understand your home is your sanctuary, and I aim to leave it as if I was never there. All poops are bagged up and properly disposed of immediately. I send pictures of your pets happy and healthy during every visit.
“I really should just pay you for the pictures you take instead of the dog walking! 🤣 they’re hilarious & crack me up! Thank you for taking such great care of my fur baby. It brings me so much relief to know she’s having fun and in good hands, while I’m at work.”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. During college, I worked as a veterinary assistant, where I gained valuable knowledge about animal health, behavior, and safety. In addition to my professional experience, I have rescued and fostered numerous dogs over the years, helping them transition into loving forever homes. As a proud dog parent to five dogs of my own, I understand that pets are family and deserve the same love, attention, and care we would give our own. I am responsible, compassionate, patient, and attentive to each pet's individual needs. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply a calm and reassuring presence, I strive to provide a safe, comfortable, and stress-free experience while you're away. I look forward to treating your furry family member like one of my own! Experience with: •Senior care •Puppy care •Pets with disabilities •Pet medication administration This season of life has taught me to slow down and focus on what matters most. As I recover from cancer and gradually return to work, pet sitting has become something that brings me joy, purpose, and healing. I treat every pet with the same love and care I give my own, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in compassionate, responsible, and attentive hands. I provide attentive, loving care whether pets stay in my home or I care for them in theirs. I follow each pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication needs, and plenty of affection. In my home, pets are treated like family and given a safe, comfortable environment. When caring for pets in their own home, I help maintain their routine and surroundings to reduce stress and keep them happy while their owners are away. My goal is always to make pets feel secure, loved, and well cared for.
About: I grew up with lots of pets, a golden retriever, labs, a vizsla, and siamese cats. I have worked with a non-profit rehabbing retired throroughbreads and retraining them for lives off the track, which has given me confidence, patience, and adaptability in handling spirited animals. I am currently working freelance and control my own schedule, so I can customize the level of care required to your needs. I'm happy to care for them at your home or take them on adventures to parks, hikes etc. Depending on your pet's needs, I am available for walks, feeding, playtime, training, boarding, and any other activities they enjoy. My demeanor is calm and patient, able to babysit a senior animal with special needs or entertain the most energetic of birddogs. I have experience in animal training for film and TV and am happy to offer those skills to teach new behaviors if requested.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Cherrylog. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking bookings, your dog walker can send a Rover Card with details about your dog’s walk. Rover Cards require at least one photo and may include a map of the walking route , the total walk time and distance, and any pee or poop breaks recorded by the walker.
The route map lets you review where your dog was walked in Cherrylog after the booking. It is not live GPS tracking.
Have specific details you would like included? Message your dog walker in the app before the walk begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your walker interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and walker for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
walkers on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement walker.
