“What a great experience. Megan was awesome it’s our girls and communicated very well. We were in communications when needed and knew they were well cared for on our absence! Megan, THANK YOU!!”
About: I have cared for many different types of animals since the young age of 6 or 7. I have always had much empathy, patience and understanding for them. We cared for stray dogs, cats and a hurt hummingbird as a child. Christie was our family dog when I was a teen that was a beautiful Collie who I cared for till I moved away for college. Since then, I have cared for many dogs, birds, lizards and cats. I have educated myself greatly on the topics of pet care, behavior, training, feeding and more. I have served as a foster mom in DFW and currently assist Ay Chihuahua Rescue group in fostering and holding adoption & educational events. I also support foster families in their needs for our group. My hope one day is to have a big farm in the country where I can foster many more animals especially seniors in the short years that they have left. I am a retired Texas school educator who runs a small Etsy Shop from home. I am free to care for pets most of the day as needed and boarding on occasion. I have no obligations except my current two small dogs. I ensure pets have their potty breaks on a frequent basis to avoid accidents. I ensure they eat the right amount & quality of food for both meals. I walk my dogs even though we have a fenced backyard so that they can explore, smell the outdoors and be stimulated by all of the sights and sounds of nature. I am very patient, understanding, kind and considerate of all animals especially rescues and those that need more training, discipline and positive reinforcement. I have had pets my entire life from birds as a young girl to a turtle to cats and dogs. I care about all animals and understand their body language and try to be attuned to their thinking so as to not bring fear or aggravate any stresses they may have. As a young girl, I grew up in a neighborhood with many stray dogs and learned from an early age how to read their body and how to move my own body to not scare or threaten an animal. I am also a foster Mom to other foster Moms that need a vacation or break. Caring for pets brings joy, fun and satisfaction to my life and could not envision a life without pets.
“This was my first time using Lillian. She was on time for our Meet and Greet, sent daily pictures of my fur babies and via these pics I could clearly see they were comfortable in her care. She promptly texted me about concerns and left the house neat and tidy. The house needed to be swept/swiffered given the house bunny is in a shed cycle but perhaps I didn’t make that expectation clear.”

“Margaret was awesome!! Skipper had a great time and was very well taken care of. We got updated throughout every day and she was super transparent and kind! We will definitely be hiring her again and highly recommend her!”

“I have never had puppy before , so leaving my puppy for one weekend left me super anxious and nerves. Once Karen meet with us for the meet and greet i felt much better as she knew how much engagement was needed for an energetic puppy , she left me know what she was planning to do and ask if she could take her on field to the local parks which made me feel so relived that my puppy wouldn’t be in a kennel all day. I came back from my trip and my little girl looked like she had the time of her life i highly recommend Karen and well definitely be booking with her again !!”

“Tyler was an amazing rover for Fen. She is high energy and requires a lot of attention. He took her on walks and played nonstop. I appreciate his flexibility and he left my home in great condition!”

“Our boys loved Sam. She did a great job of sitting them at our home and the following the boys’ somewhat wonky “procedures” that I do when it comes to medication feeding and making things “even.” She would talk to them like we do and would send pics which is super nice to ease my mind. Will definitely rebook again when needed and or just so the boys can see her again!”

“Penelope was the best sitter we’ve ever had. She was professional and my oodle puppies LOVED her! They’re usually skittish with new people but they jumped right up to hug her! She takes care of your babies like she would her own! We will be requesting Penelope again in the future!”

“Our first time using Staphanie for our 4 furbabies. She was able to fit them in her busy weekend and care for all of their needs! Great communication! We enjoyed having her and will be using her in the future.”

I’m comfortable adapting to the care your pet needs and the routine you prefer. I understand it can be stressful to be away from your babies, and some may need a little extra love. As a pet owner myself, I want you to feel confident, secure, and worry-free knowing your loved one is well cared for. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to easily prioritize pet care throughout my day. I’m able to plan my routine around your pet’s needs and provide consistent attention. I focus on making pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved. In my home, I provide a calm environment with a fenced yard for supervised outdoor time and crates available if needed. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to their routine, follow instructions carefully, and make sure they feel secure and well cared for while you’re away.
“Madalyn is wonderful to work with. She is very professional and yet personable. It’s obvious she loves animals. This was our first time using Rover and I was so happy to find someone like Madalyn. I felt comfortable leaving our two dogs knowing she would be looking out for them. She always made sure to send pictures and an update every time she checked in on our dogs. She was also very respectful of our house and did more than was expected.”

About: What sets me apart is that I genuinely understand how important pets are to their families because I’m a pet parent myself. I currently care for two dogs of my own—Apollo, a 4-year-old Siberian Husky, and Milo, a 3-year-old Shih Tzu—which has given me experience with dogs of different sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I believe every pet deserves individualized care, patience, and attention. Whether your dog loves long walks and playtime or prefers a calm and relaxing environment, I will adapt to their needs and routine to help them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I am dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to keeping pet owners informed through regular updates and photos. I understand that leaving your pet with someone else requires trust, and I strive to provide peace of mind by treating every pet as if they were my own. My experience with both a high-energy Husky and a small companion breed has taught me the importance of exercise, consistency, supervision, and positive interactions. Above all, I provide a safe, loving environment where pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and care. Right now, pet care fits into my schedule primarily on weekends. I am starting with weekend availability so I can dedicate my full attention and energy to each pet I care for without conflicting weekday commitments. This allows me to provide reliable walks, drop-ins, or overnight care while ensuring pets receive consistent attention and supervision. On weekends, I have the flexibility to plan my time around feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, and any specific routines each pet needs. I make it a priority to follow the owner’s instructions closely so pets stay comfortable and maintain their normal routine while their owners are away. As I grow on Rover, I plan to gradually expand my availability into weekdays as well. My goal is to eventually offer more flexible scheduling while still maintaining the same level of care, communication, and dependability that I provide on weekends. Safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities when caring for pets in either my home or a client’s home. I make sure to follow all instructions exactly as provided by the owner, including feeding schedules, walking routines, medication needs, and any house rules to keep the pet’s environment consistent and stress-free. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and maintain a calm, clean, and secure environment. I ensure doors are properly closed and locked, pets are always supervised during visits, and I stay attentive to anything that could affect their safety or comfort. I focus on building trust with each pet by being patient, gentle, and allowing them to adjust at their own pace. I also keep pet parents updated with messages, photos, and notes so they always know how their pet is doing. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, just as they would with their own family.

“An absolutely wonderful lady that has amazing communication, will definitely be booking with her again. She is kind and patient with the animals and I couldn’t be happier with her service.”

About: I’ve been working with all kinds of cats and dogs of every size for five years now. I really enjoy working and playing with the dogs and taking care of their needs. I’m currently in school for my NP, but when I’m not doing school I do have plenty of time to care for the dogs and do everything they need. I have a dog friendly pug and cat in the home. They do very well with other cats and dogs of all sizes. And the area I live in is very dog friendly.

“Bailey took fantastic care of our two pups while we were away on a trip. It was our first time to use a pet sitter and we'll definitely call for Bailey's help again. She sent us lots of pictures and updates about our two pugs. It was very comforting to know that they were happy and very well cared for. While we didn't have any kind of hiccup during her stay, we felt very confident that Bailey would be able to handle any issue or be able to independently get any additional help that might be needed. One of our pugs needs medicine multiple times a day and doesn't see very well which means he needs special care when he's outside so that he doesn't hurt himself. Bailey was able to handle that with no problems. We couldn't recommend her more highly to anyone who needs pet sitting.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chapman Ranch walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chapman Ranch maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chapman Ranch choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chapman Ranch. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
