“I will begin with my last paragraph: I highly recommend Vanessa as a pet sitter and would absolutely have her care for my dogs again. I feel very comfortable knowing that they—and my home—are in her hands. If you need more information, read on! I reached out to Vanessa to pet-sit in my home, including overnight stays, for three days. Given her background working at the EASEL shelter and her interest in special education and social work, I thought she would be an especially good fit for my two dogs: my eight-year-old, 80-pound poodle mix and my four-month-old, 15-pound Miniature American Shepherd puppy.
 I was somewhat anxious about leaving a young puppy with a sitter. At four months old, puppies are still learning, and I knew that inconsistent handling could easily lead to the development of unwanted habits. From our very first meeting, however, Vanessa gave me confidence that my dogs were in good hands.
 At our Meet & Greet, my large poodle mix approached Vanessa with his big, loud, deep bark. It was the first time he had ever met her and she handled the introduction beautifully. Rather than immediately trying to engage with him, she remained calm and allowed him the time and space to figure out that she was not a threat. She didn't overreact or become nervous, and the interaction went very well.
 When she met the puppy, who immediately started jumping on her, I said, "Off," at the same moment Vanessa said, "Down." She immediately adjusted and began using "Off" as well. That small moment told me a lot. It was clear that she was paying attention to the puppy's development and understood how important consistency is when training a young dog. She listened carefully to my concerns and gave me thoughtful feedback, which reassured me that she truly understood what I was looking for.
 While I was away, Vanessa sent me pictures and videos of the dogs eating both breakfast and dinner. This was especially reassuring with a four-month-old puppy because it confirmed that they were being fed at the appropriate times. I trust the sitters I hire, but I also appreciate having confirmation that they've arrived and knowing that important parts of the dogs' routine are being followed. I've had sitters in the past who didn't provide that kind of communication, leaving me wondering whether they had arrived or whether something unexpected had prevented them from getting there. A simple picture or message eliminates that unnecessary anxiety for me, and Vanessa was excellent about keeping me informed.
 After I returned, I asked Vanessa if she would be willing to sit again in a couple of weeks. She adjusted her schedule to accommodate my dates, which I thought was incredibly considerate and definitely above and beyond the call of duty!
 As I watched Vanessa interact with the dogs after spending three days with them, I could see that she understood the importance of correcting the puppy when necessary and, just as importantly, knew how to do it appropriately. She didn't overreact, but she also didn't let things slide. She was consistent about using the correct commands, which is particularly important with a puppy who is learning what is expected of her. I now have a list of obedience commands that I can leave for Vanessa on her next visit, and I have complete confidence that she will use them consistently.
 When I returned home, I found the house exactly as I had left it. Vanessa had even stripped the bed in the guest room, making it easier for me to wash the sheets. That small gesture was another example of how thoughtful and considerate she was throughout her stay.
 Vanessa is attentive, thoughtful, responsible, and genuinely caring. She clearly understands dogs, but what impressed me most was her attentiveness to my puppy's development and her willingness to follow through consistently with the training and routines I had established.
 I highly recommend Vanessa as a pet sitter and would absolutely have her care for my dogs again. I feel very comfortable knowing that they—and my home—are in her hands.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and Guinea pigs for the past 9 years. Makes sure my neighbors dog when out of town is fed, walked, bathed, and clothed. Currently working part time in social media management, so I’m home with more than enough time to cater towards fur babies! I’m available Monday through Saturday of every week. I live in a dog friendly neighborhood that even supplies bags for dogs. There’s more than enough room in my apartment for zoomies, crates, And most furniture that they are allowed on!

About: I grew up with all sorts of animals and I learned to find comfort in understanding them. It brings me joy to see them happy and healthy. I am a senior in high school and I’m just looking to make some extra money in order to hopefully pay majority of my college. I’m a cheerleader and enjoy making everyone around me happy. Im very responsible and respectful and value animals so much. At home I make sure all my pets are fed, clean, brushed, and that they’ve had their fun. About: I’ve taken care of both cats and dogs since I was a kid. There has always been a pet in my house while growing up. My family has relied on me to feed and play with the pets while they were away. I additionally have experience in caring for both young and senior pets. I’m currently working part-time, which means I have plenty of time to care for your pets! I’m available most days except for Wednesday & Thursday afternoons. My schedule is pretty flexible so I can accommodate if needed :) I currently have one cat in my home. I feed him, give him affection and play with him everyday. We also have a dog that lives at home with us. I take care of him when his owner is busy.

“This was our third time using Josh for overnight stays, and he continues to be a really great sitter. His communication is excellent. He provides regular updates and is always very responsive. It's stressful to have your pets care (and your home) in someone else's hands. Josh's communication definitely helps us feel more at ease. We have a fenced yard, but Josh always takes Rider on walks which I really appreciate (as does Rider). Every time we've come home you'd never know he was there. About: There is nothing I love more than dogs, except maybe cats. I have always been passionate about taking care of my animals and have always been relied on by family and friends for the same in both official and unofficial capacities. I can’t wait to become best friends with your pets! I am currently home full time and would have ample time to engage with your pets, walk them, and play with them. This can occur in your home or mine. My home has plenty of space to run around. I live in a beautifully grassy complex with a fenced dog yard 50 feet from my front door. I have a very friendly dog who also doesn’t mind being in the bedroom if your dog needs space. I’m also happy to ask all the questions I need to make sure your pets are very happy and satisfied in your own home if that’s where care takes place.

About: I volunteered at a pet rescuer. I also taken care of dogs of every kind. I’ve taken care of neighbors, coworkers, friends and also family members pets. They have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. I use my communicative, positive, and enthusiastic nature to make both owners and their pets feel comfortable around me. I’m currently working from home. I’ll have plenty of time to spend time with your pups. I have a fenced backyard to let your pup play. About: I’ve dogsat for friends and coworkers many times before! I love their company, I think each dog has their own interesting personality so I’m excited to meet yours! I work M-F 9-4 but am free to walk your pup anytime after that and or dog-sit as needed! I’m usually at a park getting my steps in anyways, so I’d love to bring your dog with me next time!
