Travis and Roberta were critical in helping us get our dog settled the first week we had him! They were so kind and patient with him. He loved going over to their house when we couldn’t be home! Their dog was older than ours and was also patient and gentle with him, so it was great socialization for our pup! We will definitely be booking with them again in the future!

Diane did an absolutely perfect job taking care of our Brittany cokie. Super sweet and caring and her little dog was a great companion to ours. They had a fantastic time together, and she loved every minute of it. We went back the next day, and our dog was wagging her tail and excited to go in. Thank you so much Diane for your great work! Michael.

Lauren was great. She had really good energy that matched my excited 2 year old dog energy. Lauren sent me really cute photos..some of which could be framed. I knew the minute she contacted me (which was right away) that she was a responsible good person. I had no worries and would definitely use her again. Thanks Lauren

Melissa has been everything we could hope for - and more - in a pet sitter. She is kind, professional, loving, and patient with our young puppy. We were initially nervous to leave Ruby for the first time, but Melissa’s home is a safe, fun, and relaxing haven filled with just the right balance of play and stimulation. She keeps us updated often, and Ruby always comes home happy and excited to return the next day. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

About: I've been taking care of dogs my whole life and they all have good experiences and they are very comfortable with me. I love dogs Pet care is already part of my daily routine. I have my own dog, Ziggy, and I’ve had my service dog, Eclipse, for two years. Living with and caring for dogs every day has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to understand each dog’s unique needs. As I prepare for college, I have a flexible schedule and look forward to providing dependable, loving care for your pets. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. As the owner of Ziggy and my service dog, Eclipse, I’ve learned how important routine, patience, and positive care are. I’ll carefully follow your instructions, provide lots of walks, playtime, and attention, and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since the fourth grade, and I truly can’t remember a time without one! Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all kinds—whether for neighbors, family, friends, or even friends of friends. I’ve cared for puppies up to senior pups.Dogs have always been a part of my everyday life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We absolutely adore our Chihuahua, Romeo, and we’d care for your furry friend just like we care for him — with love, patience, and lots of cuddles. My husband and I split our work-from-home days, so someone’s almost always around during the week, and we're both home on weekends. We do not go out much. We are home bodies and like it that way. I have a fully wooden fenced with chicken wire backyard and live in a quiet, dog friendly neighborhood with very little traffic. If your pup needs a crate, that’s totally fine we can manage that otherwise, they’re welcome to roam free and make themselves at home. We only have one resident dog, a sweet little Chihuahua whose favorite activity is sunbathing and napping.

About: I have over 20 years of experience taking care of dogs. I have owned dogs for the past 16 years straight, the last 10 years with two dogs. I have a lot of experience with all types of dogs (from chihuahua to Great Dane) and connect easily with them. After all, I am a dog myself (per the Chinese Zodiac!) Currently I have two rescue dogs: A special needs (epilepsy) Healer/Aussie Shepherd mix named Ace and a senior Supermutt named Maisie. We lost our senior Boston Terrier in early 2023 due to Cushings and Cancer. So, I have experience taking care of dogs from puppy through hospice. Medications and special food needs are no problem. NOTE: As I have two dogs of my own.....if your dog is not well socialized and does not get along with all other dogs, big and small, or has a history of aggressive behavior, please do not put in a "Boarding" booking request. Socialized, friendly dogs only, please. No excessive whiners or barkers and dogs must weigh 35 lbs or less. Thank you! Reliable, Responsible, Mature. I'm currently retired so am able to spend all of my time caring for my animals (and yours). The most i'll ever leave the house for is 2-3 hours for an appointment, but this is rare. We start our days with breakfast at 7am, take a morning hike in the woods or trails or town. Then some relax time at home before lunch and a 1pm neighborhood walk. Then more home time and play or naps until our 4pm hike. Then dinner at 5. All meal times adjustable for your dog's needs. I am able to be home 99% of the time so am always able to focus on the pets needs. I have been an animal lover my whole life and care deeply about the health and well being of animals in my care or under my stewardship. We live close to many hiking trails and nature preserves so the dogs always get plenty of sniff walks and exercise and socialization. Always on leash and always careful of meeting unknown dogs that may be receptive. I'm pretty good at sussing out a dog's behavior signals, if we should meet or not, after so many years.

About: I have loved and cared for dogs my whole life. I am starting my journey to become a trainer. I would love the opportunity to care for your amazing best friend(s). Dogs are amazing loving creatures and not one is the same! I have two rescue dogs of my own. One is Miss (Queen) Kona an Australian Cattle dog mix who my family agrees is just about perfect. She is the reason we adopted Buddy, he is a special needs dog with anxiety and a multitude of issues we have been working through. He has a very sweet side to him that always gives us hope and makes us love him more. I would love the opportunity to help you with your dog sitting needs. Contact me and we can talk! I am currently off for the summer since I work in a school. I can spend time caring for and playing with fur babies. I can visit up to 4 times a day or have them stay at my house. I am available full-time from August 15th to August 29th. After the 29th, I will be available weekends only, Friday evening to Sunday evening. I have a fenced-in yard for exercise and fun. I no longer have dogs at home, so your pet will be the center of my attention! When I visit, I will make sure the water bowl is full and clean. I will feed at the proper times and clean up any messes. The rest of the time it will be spend time having fun with your pet.

As of August 2026, there are 10,801 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Central Nyack. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Central Nyack commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 10,801 sitters in Central Nyack, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
