His would got infected while we were away and she was even kind enough to take him to the vet and ensure that he got proper treatment. She followed up by giving him all his meds while we were gone. Pet care is an important and fulfilling part of my weekly routine. I currently work Wednesdays from 7 AM to 1 PM, and 12 hour shifts on Thursdays and Fridays with rotating weekends. About: ***I've had several requests for last-minute sittings. I do require a meet and greet AT LEAST 24 hours before the beginning of the stay. I want to make sure your dog(s) gets along with mine before accepting the stay! Thanks :) I've had dogs my entire life and have a love like no other! I have a 7 year old lab and a 2 year old Lab/Border Collie mix. I will be happy to spoil your furbaby while you're out of town as well! I have a backyard with plenty of playing room. I work from home 4 days a week. On the days I'm in the office, I'm just a few miles away and come home at lunch for a quick play break with the pups. I also have a doggie door that allows the pups access to the yard at any time. I will treat your pup like my own while they are in my care. If you have special requests, I will honor them. Your pet can have free roam of the house or be crated - your preference!

About: We started hosting dogs as a family when we ourselves needed to board our pets but we’re uncomfortable with the idea of leaving them in a kennel. We found Rover and decided to open our home as well so others could enjoy the same quality of care, love and companionship we did. Since then, we all relocated to different areas so I took a break. Now that I am settled in Pittsburg full time, I figured there may be a need here as well. The separation alone can be hard on our babies so having a reliable and trustworthy person to look after your pet is of utmost importance. I have a small rescue dog named Roxy who is very social and has lots of "friends". She was found eating from a dumpster and is now a lil fatty with a wonderful spirit and the cutest personality. I have kept many dogs over the years (large and small breeds) and feel it’s more like a slumber party than a job. If this is your first time, don't worry, we can always do a meet and greet before the stay. I find it becomes more like a play date than a scary situation to both the owner and the pet. Even for the more timid dogs, I make the situation comfortable. With constant love and attention, I think this is a great safe place to leave your babies. If you have any questions, please let us know. Why I love dog sitting I actually didn't start enjoying dogs until I got one of my own. It was by default. My friend is a rescuer so I volunteered to help while she was working for a few days. The pup attached itself to me. Since then I have become so attached to animals that we ended up having two dogs and work at the shelter on the weekends. My oldest son has always had a passion for dogs and plans to be a vet so this experience is so beneficial to him and his future. We just love having them and giving them a safe, loving place to visit and play. Meet my pets We have two spayed/neutered rescue dogs, both very social and love to have friends visit. One is a medium breed, the other is a smaller dog. About my yard It does not have a fence all the way around but I have never had an issue with this. My schedule is very flexible as I own a small business and work remotely. I am also semi-retired so my company is less demanding of my time than typical scenario. I find crates work great for those who have not become extremely social yet. The safety of their “room” seems to relax them as they warm up to new surroundings.

My apartment has a large dog park, and it is very quiet. Not many dogs and animals at my apartment complex. Lots of walking areas near my apartment.

About: I’ve always had animals in my life, and usually more than one. I feel at home and comfortable with animals and they always seem to gravitate to me too. I’ve had a lot of experience with different types of care and grooming, and most messes don’t bother me at all. It comes with the territory! I just want your pet to be as comfortable and reassured as possible in your absence. This summer I’m working a very light schedule so I should be available at any time! I can start check-ins early in the morning, continuing until bed time. I like to announce myself when entering your home, to keep the anxiety as low as possible. I try to keep to their routine as closely as possible to keep pets comfortable. I try to use words and terms they know to let them know what’s happening next. Once they’re comfortable with me, I can match their energy level and play or cuddle, whatever they want. I’m committed to keeping their schedule and routine whatever it takes.

About: I’ve fostered and pet sat animals of various species from ferrets, hamsters, turtles, birds, dogs and cats. I understand the worry a pet parent can have leaving their animal in the care of someone new and will do my best to update you and answer any concerns. I’m currently a college student studying for law so I will be firm about the days I’ll be unable to care for animals as I do not wish to give you a bad experience if I’m not fully prepared. However on days that I’m focusing on your pet they will have my full attention and care. The afternoons are my most free but I will have days I can do mornings. I will ask for a walk before setting up an appointment that we both through of any specific concerns or routines I would need to know along with normal habits your animal exhibits. This will be so I do not over stress you if I’m unfamiliar with your pets behavior or desires as some animals have their quirks.
