I cared for my Doberman for 10 wonderful years, including his senior years, which taught me patience, responsibility, and how to understand a dog's unique needs. After recently losing him, I'm not ready for another dog of my own, but I'd love to care for yours. About: I have been a dog walker, dog bather, kennel tech, and worked at wildlife rehab. To say I love animals is an understatement, and I can't wait to meet and care for yours! I have been pet sitting in people's homes for nearly 20 years now, and have worked professionally with animals for many years. Dogs to Hedgehogs and snakes, tell me how to best care for your pets and I will exceed your expectations. I have watched over nursing puppies in shelters, and senior dogs in veterinary care and boarding, so I have experience with animals with anxiety and giving medications. I am on summer break from work at a local school, so your little ones will have my full attention. I do have a few 2/3 hr events two evenings a week, but I will be available for any pets in training, or who may need more frequents outdoor breaks. Because I understand that for many pets, consistency is very important, I try to stick as close to your regular walk/outside schedules as possible to make sure routines are kept just that*. Since every animal is different, I will let your pet lead the way with how much attention/ what kind of enrichment they like. I don't mean to brag, but my belly rubs are the bark of the town my neighborhood. **With the summer heat, I expect any walks taken will be very early or as the sun is setting so their paws are protected.

Most commands and demonstrations to the animal will be verbal, and if I need something better I use a dog correction light (it flashes a two small bulbs fast at once when I press a button. Most dogs will react and calm down and realize their behavior needs correction). All animals will get my full respect on boundaries if their forte isn’t necessarily socializing. Simply sitting in the same room providing them company can be enough for some babies.

“I asked Jonathan to care for my new 6 year old dog while on vacation. Jonathan agreed and the experience was absolutely the best. You see, my new dog, Andy had previously lived with a neighbor behind me and bc Andy is a fence jumper my neighbor had locked the dog in a cage his entire life. So he was not socialized or house broken until just the last 3 months since I took him to live with me, however I had given Jonathan as much info as I knew about him. Jonathan was so attentive with Andy he even made a special leash where Andy could run in his very large backyard but yet could not jump the fence. My biggest fear was he would run away but Jonathan sent me videos every day so I could see he was safe and happy. This was so comforting for me. When I picked up Andy he seemed a but confused which broke my heart bc I truly believe my new dog wanted to stay with Jonathan. I really think Andy had a great week staying with Jonathan and I will certainly call him again when I need a safe place for Andy to land for a few days or weeks. Jonathan is the best. Oh and Andy had his own spot on Jonathan's couch just like home.”
