Valerie has been checking in on our pup for the last several weeks and taking him for walks and we couldn’t recommend her more! She is very easy to communicate with and is great at keeping us updated about how he is doing! We will definitely continue asking her to take our doggo on walks!

About: I've taken care of all sorts of animals (including farm) since I was old enough to drive. I was also a vet tech for years!!! I recently quit my job as a preschool teacher, but don't want to be bored. I have all day to fill with your animal cuddles. I have a fenced in yard and a big fur baby of my own to keep your baby company and entertained. The more the merrier.

About: I have always had many animals from rabbits to birds to fish, and of course dogs. I have had dogs my whole life and love making bonds with them as well as making them feel loved and safe. I am in grad school so have school every day Monay-Friday, off on Thursday's but I am extremely flexible. I have school most days 8:30-4pm. I care for pets in my home by making sure they have access to fresh food and water, regular exercise, and a clean and safe environment. I also make time to give them attention and all the love. If caring for a pet in a client’s home, I would follow the client’s specific instructions and routines for feeding, walking, grooming, and other pet-care needs. I would also make sure the pet’s environment is safe and clean while respecting the client’s home, preferences, and routines!

About: Pets have always been center stage in my life. Currently I share my home with three cats and a granddog who likes to visit and go for walks with me. My love and appreciation for animals has sparked my desire to be a pet sitter. I began my pet sitting journey by caring for pets belonging to friends, neighbors, and family. I gained experience providing for pets needing oral medication, accommodating frightened and lonely animals, and behaving in a manner which gained the trust of my new furry friends. I am a retired teacher and have a flexible schedule. I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening schedules. I am also available for overnight stays for both pet and house sitting. I am able to meet all expectations while caring for your pet at home. I have a large country property to provide stimulating outdoor time for overnight furry guests. I will take all precautions needed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for your furry companions,

About: I currently work at a veterinarian clinic and deal with all types or breeds and temperaments. I have worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility. I would help with playgroups, walks, medication administration, and bathing. I have helped with potty and crate training, including my own dogs. I have a crate and rotate situation in my own home, so I understand that not all dogs can be around others. I would help on my days off at the vet clinic. I am always off on Sundays and major holidays. I would also try to fit any pet care on my days I work as well. I have a crate and rotate situation in my home. I know to take extra care to make sure my non dog friendly dog is up prior to letting any others out. I double check to make sure the crate doors are latched. I also make sure my own gate is closed because I would hate for one of my dogs to get out.

About: I have had and cared for pets my entire life. Highly experienced with dogs and cats from puppy/kittens to seniors. I am comfortable enough with all animals that with some instruction I can care for anything. Experience in administering medication, even with cats. Patient with all animal personalities. I am very detail oriented and thorough. Reliable and great with instructions. I love animals and since semi-retiring I thought it would be nice to spend time caring for them when owners are on vacation or just need a little extra help. I practice reward based motivation. Semi-retired with plenty of time to play with and care for your animals. Happy to care for in home or take for walks. I can do multiple drop-ins a day. I am very good with instructions and will abide by any house rules and needs required for your pet. Experience house and pet sitting prior to joining Rover.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover who’s been around both dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. I currently have a cat of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets like family. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, cuddles, walks, or simply having someone keep them company, I’m happy to provide the care and attention they deserve. I’m dependable, patient, and committed to treating every pet as if they were my own. I’ll make sure they have fresh food and water, plenty of affection, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members and provide them with the loving care they deserve! I am currently a stay at home (soon to be) mom so I will have plenty of time to play with your pups! I am available for drop in visits 3 times a day. When caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping them happy, comfortable, and sticking to their normal routine. During each drop-in visit, I’ll make sure they have fresh food and water, plenty of attention, playtime, and lots of affection. I’m happy to take them on walks to help them get the exercise and enrichment they need. I treat every pet as if they were my own and will provide updates and photos so you can feel confident they’re in good hands while you’re away.

About: I have had the pleasure of taking care of dogs and cats of all ages since I was a young child. Every pet I’ve ever had the pleasure of loving has been in my life from the time they came home until they passed. My mom taught me at a young age that a pet was a lifelong relationship and responsibility and I took that very seriously! I believe that God put me on this planet to care for animals and be a mom. My children are grown and out of the house now so I have 4 dogs (Midas-9, Atlas-6, Echo-5 and Zuko-3.5) and 2 kitties (Boston-12 and Angel 1.5) and I would really like to help you care for your fur babies when you can’t do it. I promise to follow your instructions so your fur babies will get the best experience possible! I am in phlebotomy and patient care in my career but I plan to be a part of a rescue or sanctuary when I retire. I will continue to volunteer at the shelter as often as possible until then. I’m currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to play with and care for your pets! I am available for house sitting on weekends and some days I would be available to do daycare at my home. I have a fenced in yard and 4 small to medium sized dogs of my own that love to socialize! I have a fully fenced in backyard and 4 social dogs to keep your dog company, as well as a cat that enjoys being involved in the activities inside.

Caring for pets requires prioritizing safety, building trust through communication, and maintaining a secure environment. Key actions include adhering strictly to routines (feeding, walking), securing hazards (cleaning supplies, small objects, gates), and keeping detailed records of veterinary contacts. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
