“Madelyn was very responsive to our questions, and sent photos and updates. She even managed to walk our new dog who takes time to warm up to strangers. The house was very tidy and clean upon our return. We would be happy to book again with Madelyn.”

“Hannah did a great job! My dog is 12 and she does not eat well, especially when we are away! Molly is fat or fatter and happier! She walked her, gave her treats and took her out often.”

“Annie was wonderful! Our dog Luna instantly took to her kind presence, and knew that Luna was well taken care of while we were out of town for a few days. I will definitely call Annie again if we go out of town.”

“Destiny did a great job with my 2 doggies. Stayed at my house and spent the 2 nights. My house was just as clean as I when I left. She kept me informed with updates and pics. Had to give meds 3x a day to one of my older dogs. I would definitely recommend Destiny and I was glad to find her, great job.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats since I was 11 years old. I trained my family dog, buttercup, and I’ve dog sat and cat sat for friends and family. I want a good excuse to get off my phone while I’m at school and I believe that taking care of pets is the perfect reason! In the morning I’ll wake up say hello, feed my dog and then it’s time for a walk. After the walk we’ll chill for a bit and play! After it’s been a while I will take the dog outside to have a potty break, and I’ll do so however many times they need. If I have work or a class, I take them outside before and after I leave. And it’s time to feed the friends again around dinner time. Then later in the day when it starts to cool down it’s time for walk #2. Then I’ll take them out one more time before bed, and if I wake up in the middle of the night that means they get to go out again! I am happy to keep your fur baby company while you’re away! I will make sure to play with them, take them on walks, and whatever else you may need. Please make sure to tell me where cleaning supplies is, and the poop bags are for any messes I’ll need to clean up.
About: I’ve had extensive experience working with and taking care of dogs. I grew up with 3 dogs and have been around and taken care of them my whole life. 3 years ago when I adopted my dog Luna, an anxious rescue, is when I really dove into research on the best practices for ways to train, take care of, and advocate for dogs— and now consider it one of my greatest passions. I also spent a year on and off volunteering at Coconino animal shelter in Flagstaff, AZ getting experience providing care to all kinds of dogs! I am in an online grad program for mental health counseling, with a part-time internship— so I am home a lot and am flexible! I have a fenced yard and 1 friendly husky mix that looooves to play. Big area of grass, with lots of toys, bones and a large backyard that provides plenty of stimulation. I have a large doggy door for easy access outside. I also have a large cozy crate in my garage if needed!
About: I have owned many pets. I love talking care of dogs. I am extremely flexible with hours. I am very loving and kind, going to be a very good friend to all pets. I love to meet new people, and animals. I am very responsible, and am very big on communication. I love to send updates on how your pet is doing when you're gone, or while we are out. One of the reasons I started doing this is because I love to be outside. I love connecting with the outdoors. I hope that I will be able to connect well with the people and animals that I meet, and build more than just a dog sitter relationship. I have taken care of my own pets for many years, sadly I do not have any pets of my own at this current time, so I'm looking forward to helping others take care of theirs.

About: I’ve grown up around animals and currently have a cat of my own, so I truly understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. On the other hand my partner is a preferred sitter on here , and through him I’ve learned so much about providing attentive, reliable, and compassionate care!! Taking care of your pet as if it were my own is my main goal, and I want to respect your home as it were mine.
“Amalia was a true life saver for us. She was able to watch our kitten on very little notice while our daughter was at a tournament in Cedar City. She sent photos and always responded to messages very quickly. She was flexible with us on the pick up time. I can’t express how grateful we were for her services. Would highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cedar City
Phoebe was wonderful!! She took excellent care of our dog and our home, reaching out to us daily with her schedule (she is a student athlete) and when she would be leaving or returning to our home for the day, and sent photos and updates on how everything was going. We would highly recommend her, and in fact have booked her again for another week later this month!!
Ketera, has been absolutely wonderful for my 2 fur babies!! They both warmed up to her well, she has checked with them frequently and stayed over night with no issues. She was also able to be flexible with me regarding my travel plan changing suddenly. I will most definitely be checking her availability for my next travel before anyone else!!

Aspen took such great care of my dog while I was away for a few days! She kept me updated every visit with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear my dog really enjoyed her company. She also helped me out greatly by responding to a last minute sitting request. Highly recommend her!

Olivia is amazing! I can be a crazy dog mom sometimes and she just rolls with it. She babysat tobey for 5 days even when she was soo busy with school, work and she still made sure that tobey was cared for and loved. She would send me a picture or video once a day and my house was spotless when I came home. I will definitely book her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cedar City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cedar City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cedar City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
