“Amada did a great job looking after my cats while we were on vacation. She did everything that was asked and sent some great photos daily. I recommend her 110%! I will be using Amanda for all my future trips.”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats and have been helping care for them since I was three years old. People have relied on me to house-sit, walk, and take care of their dogs and cats, so I’m comfortable caring for pets in a variety of settings. I’m reliable, active, and comfortable with dogs of different personalities and energy levels. I enjoy walks, playtime, and keeping pets active while respecting their routines and individual needs. I’m comfortable helping with medications and following care instructions. You can also expect regular updates, photos, and quick responses while your pet is in my care. I will treat your pet with the same patience and affection I’d give my own! I’m a Clemson student with a flexible schedule, and I’m especially available on Tuesdays, Thursday’s and weekends. I’m happy to work pet care around my classes and can often accommodate walks, drop-ins, and house sitting throughout the week. I love spending time with animals, so fitting pet care into my routine is something I genuinely enjoy! I always do my best to follow each pet’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I carefully follow feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions, and I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and other safety details are handled responsibly. I’m respectful of your home, attentive to your pet’s behavior and needs, and I’ll keep you updated with messages and plenty of photos so you can feel confident they’re in good hands.
“Madison helped us out with only a couple of hours notice. She was responsive, polite, and our dogs were well cared for and appropriately tired when we got home. I highly recommend Madison.”

About: I am an Animal and Veterinary Sciences major at Clemson University. I currently work at a small animal hospital as a veterinary assistant. I have done pet sitting for friends and family for about 8 years and have cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and fish. As a Clemson student, I have plenty of time to drop in on your furry friends throughout the day! On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I am available between 6am-8am, 12pm-4pm, and 6pm-10pm. On Tuesdays I am available between 6am-7am, 10am-4pm, and 6pm-10pm. On Saturdays and Sundays I am available any time of day! I have plenty of experience feeding furry friends and making sure they have plenty of water around! I will also make sure to clean up any messes your pet leaves behind!
About: With me on board, you're cleared for departure! Lifetime animal lover with decades of hands-on experience caring for pets through every stage of life. I’ve never lived without a pet, and caring for animals isn't just a side job for me, it’s second nature. Over the years, I’ve managed everything from high-energy daily routines to specialized medical care. Having guided three of my own dogs through cancer, I understand how crucial gentle, attentive, and reliable care is when a pet needs extra patience, medication, or comfort. On the flip side, I currently share my home with two rowdy, high-energy Boxers and four cats, so I’m equally at home managing big personalities, high-energy exercise, structured routines, and multi-pet household dynamics. Whether your pet needs structured crate training, engaging enrichment (like stuffed Kongs to keep busy minds occupied), or a patient, calm presence while you're away, I treat every animal in my care with the same dedication, attention, and love I give my own. I work remotely from home, giving me fantastic flexibility throughout the day for daytime drop-ins, walks, and potty breaks. For house sitting, I am fully available on weekends. During weekday house sits, my remote work structure allows me to split my remote workday between your home and mine so I can pop back to care for my own pets while giving yours plenty of dedicated time, attention, and evening companionship. I prioritize maintaining your pet’s normal routine to make sure they feel safe, calm, and loved. Whether providing care in your home or popping in for a check-in, I am extremely attentive to security, door safety, and personalized needs, including strict crate protocols, medication, or specific feeding schedules. I treat every home with complete respect and treat every pet with the same dedicated care I give my own.

About: I grew up on a farm, so I’ve had the opportunity to work with many different kinds of animals. Since that time, I’ve rescued a few cats and dogs with mental and physical issues. I’ve learned that each animal has their own personality and needs and am happy to provide what they need. I have a flexible schedule. I am able to give your pet the time they need. Whether it’s a potty break, playtime, or some cuddles. I am able to follow instructions. I understand how important it is to keep your pet on a routine, especially when you are not home.

About: I have lived with pets my entire life, I have a 5 year old dog currently. Additionally, I’ve pet sat for friends and family frequently when they leave for trips and used to help my grandmother foster kittens! I’m currently a senior at Clemson with a light schedule so I can drop by before/after classes with ease! I have time in the mornings and afternoons for walks and am available most days for pet sitting! I have a very active dog and am used to playing or walking outside for enrichment time. I grew up around cats and dogs and am very fond of both! Whether you need someone to play with them or just keep them company I would love to meet your fur baby.
About: I am a reliable provider that responds quickly, communicates proactively, and is compassionate to both the pet and owner. As a student, I am looking for an excuse to get away from my desk and release both myself and your pets of our energy! (También sirvo a la comunidad hispanohablante) As a masters student, I am very flexible with my schedule as my work is mostly computer based and outside the classroom. I do not have classes Monday-Wednesday so I am free all day for multiple visits/walks. I will also be free on available weekends for play dates or drop ins when you want to take that well needed vacation! I believe that pet ownership is a great responsibility, and I am here to help you with it. Each animals need is unique, and I cater my services to make sure everyone leaves happy and satisfied!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
