“Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. Shanna has been very reassuring and understanding. throughout the process. I HIGHLY recommend her.”

About: I’m a dedicated 21 year old dog lover who currently cares for two rescued female puppies. They are friendly and fixed :) Raising young shelter dogs has given me hands-on experience with puppy routines, socialization, basic training, exercise, and lots of patience. I understand the importance of consistency, positive reinforcement, and creating a safe, comfortable environment for pets. Growing up, I also owned a Chihuahua and spent time dog walking for others ever since I was a kid, which helped me learn how to work with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’m comfortable with active puppies, shy dogs, and dogs that need extra attention and reassurance. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your dog needs playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply a caring companion while you're away, I’m committed to making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I currently work part-time as a delivery driver, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to stay close to home throughout the day. Because of that, I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks, exercise, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention. I care for my own two young dogs every day, so pet care is already a major part of my routine. When I'm not working, I spend time walking, training, playing with, and caring for them. My flexible schedule allows me to adjust my day around the needs of the pets in my care and make sure they receive the attention, supervision, and affection they deserve. Safety is my top priority when caring for pets. In my home, dogs have access to a large, securely fenced yard where they can play, exercise, and explore safely under supervision. I also have a large crate available for dogs who are crate-trained or need a quiet place to relax. If a dog needs their own space, I can separate them using a dog gate and provide a comfortable area in my home where they can rest safely. I always monitor interactions between pets and make sure each dog is comfortable and stress-free. When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow their routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise, medications, and any special instructions. I believe consistency helps pets feel secure and comfortable while their owners are away. My goal is to provide a safe, calm, and caring environment where every pet feels at home.

Nalani did a great job making it comfortable for me. I took my dog to her two days and it was such a great experience. He did well and Nalani gave him lots of attention. About: I have experience and patience to deal with dogs. My house is well maintenance and have a big yard for dogs to run around and play I have the time to do it. They just need to let me know with time what days and times will they drop off and pick up I keep them in a save enviroment. Feed them as told by per owner. Will have them in good care. And I have the time to care for the dogs and take them for a walk

About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. Throughout my long-lived animal career I have participated in puppy/kitten/basic obedience training, behavioral rehabilitation, dog sport training, senior care, care for animals with extreme medical needs, and owned/operated a group play doggie daycare. My jobs, hobbies, and passions are all centered around animals and I can't wait to bring that passion to you! I am home full-time, and available for puppies and animals with heavy needs. I have a fairly set schedule for all of the pets in my care, and that level of routine provides comfort to even the most nervous of pups. I am the only Fear Free pet carer in Bakersfield! I provide comforting classical music as well as calming pheromones in the sleeping spaces to make their stay as stress-free as possible. I have a fenced yard and never leave dogs together unsupervised. I do not provide an environment suitable for animals with a history of dog aggression. Small dogs I can be more flexible with, as their attitude usually comes from a place of fear and that is something I can work with for the little guys.

About: I have always had a dog but I can only attest to caring for those I’ve raised. I’ve raised two labs and a huskie pittie. I currently have a young 1 year old male lab who loves a great play session with another doggy friend. I’ve often dog cat overnight and it gives my pets great socialization opportunities. I currently work full time from home from 8am to 5pm. My dog is routinely walked 1 hours a day with several enticing activities through out my work day. On the weekend I like to take him to the park and hiking if there is no playdate scheduled. I have a fenced yard and the most social dog to keep them company. Plenty of toys and treats. I have two different sized crates and fenced areas to give my cats space when new dogs are visiting.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and owned my own for over 30 years. I’ve house trained my own dogs from puppy stage to senior age. I currently own a Siberian Husky and care for two additional huskies. I enjoy brushing, playing and bathing them. I’m retired and pretty much available all week, unless I leave to visit family. My schedule is very flexible although I do have a feeding routine for my own dog (am and pm). I have a decent size yard that is fenced. I have a 4 year old Siberian Husky who is very friendly and loves to play. I do crate dogs if they get out of hand and need timeouts. I allow dogs inside and outside. I’ve been around dogs my entire life and treat them like part of the family.

I am very flexible lmk what works for you :) I care for pets as if they are my own by that i mean i would feed them at the appropriate feeding times and always leave ice water out, constant potty breaks, plenty of play time and walks! I have plenty of toys as well if your pup likes to independently play. lots of cuddles and mental stimulation such as lick treats, treat mats, and toys such as kongs, snuffle mat and chew toys

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life. I mostly grew up around German Shepards and miniature Dobermans. I have two dogs of my own named Milo and Bear. I adopted Milo when he was a little less than a year from the pound. I got Bear just 6 months later from someone who couldn’t keep him. I love dogs and want to help take care of your pets! I am a stay at home mom and I also work from home. Working from home gives me flexibility to be able to be there for your pets. In my home or your home your pets safety and well being is my top priority. I will treat your pets with the same love l treat mine with. I believe pictures and videos are important to provide to show you how your pet is doing. I also send updates about your pets like what they’ve been up to and if I have concerns I definitely would let you know. I do live in a one bedroom apartment but I have a front yard I can take your dogs out for fresh air and to use the bathroom.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 13 I love animals and always make sure they are cared for I would love to take care of dogs it’s truly a passion to me. I am currently studying to be a dental assistant and I have two dogs that I always spend time with on my free time I love going on walks with them. I have a fenced yard with two friendly dogs but if you prefer them not to get to know your dogs they have there own area .
