“I have used Michelle for both of my dogs, yesterday was her first time watching my 3 month old yorkie & she did a wonderful job. She made sure he was comfortable because he was afraid at first. I really appreciate Michelle for all of her help. I highly recommend her to anyone needing pet sitting services.”
About: I have two cats of my own who I adore. I frequently help take care of relatives' and neighbors dogs. My own black lab recently passed and taking care of other dogs is enjoyable and therapeutic. I am a teacher and home by early afternoon . My husband is home all day and helps take care of fur babies in our home while I’m at work. I am free in the evenings and weekends to help care of your fur babies! I have a two-story home with a back yard. Typically, dogs hang out with us during the day in our family room and sleep on dog beds in my bedroom. We live in a very dog-friendly neighborhood and walk dogs during the day on leashes. We have two cats in our home who are used to having dogs in the home.
“Absolutely wonderful ! Walked my dog twice .it was my first time using rover in a new state and Benjamin was a delight. I will be rebooking when I’m in the area again ! Thanks so much for taking such good care of my pup”

“Dana is our guardian angel. I am a self proclaimed helicopter mama but I felt completely at easy leaving my little girl. Maddie got to go on a field trip to the garden store and then play in the yard. She couldn’t have been happier which made me happy. We can’t wait to spend another day with Dana and her amazing husband.”

“Had work done to my home and my puppy needed a place to stay for the day. Bruno had the best time with Kacie. I received so many updates and photos. It was so comforting to know he was in great hands.”

“Janay was great with Layla’s first daycare session! She sent plenty of pictures and I could tell Layla was very happy hanging out with Janay. We’ve already booked a weekend next month.”

“Lucy and Daniel are a great team for the best doggy daycare you could ever want/need for your dog! My dog is extremely needy and they gave him nothing but love. We look forward to next time!”

About: I trained my current dog (golden retriever) since he was a puppy. I grew up with many animals including chickens, bunnies, cats and birds! I also took in 2 stray cats I found at a local gas station. I adopted my border collie and other cat from AACACC. I also like to help out my older neighbor by walking and playing fetch with his Lab. I’m familiar with a decent portion of breeds and understand their needs can vary a lot! I have a very flexible schedule, I do college classes online so I can choose when to do my assignments based on my schedule during the day. I prioritize training and basic obedience with my dog. My dog goes everywhere with me from car rides, to getting a pup cup, to the lake to swim! I love to take care of him, and spoil him with toys as well. I’m very much the same with your pets! I like to ask what their usual routine is and if you’re working on training or anything specific with them. I also always send a detailed Rover Card for you to look over. In addition, I make sure to check in frequently and send updates during visits/stays.
“Lindsay was awesome with our dog Zuzu! We are so glad to have found someone who we can trust to leave her with. We have already told several friends that they should reach out to Lindsay to watch their pups too.”

“Sarah and Peter are great! They took care to read my dog’s profile carefully to attend to her needs. They were sure to give her play breaks away from their dog (mine’s older and gets tired faster) and gave her lots of attention!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover and advocate since I was a small child. I’m now 37, have volunteered for Rude Ranch in Davidsonville, have 4 dogs of my own that I adore. I believe pets are family and should be treated as such. I also believe all pet parents wishes should be strictly followed. They are like children, after all. I promise to give as much care and love to your pet as I would my own. I’m experienced with dogs, cats, and even small animals like ferrets and guinea pigs. I would love the opportunity to work with your pet. I promise you won’t be disappointed. My availability is very flexible since most of my days and nights are free. I’m looking forward to working with you. Currently I have very open availability as I am a freelance dog groomer but I am expecting to start working with a mobile grooming company soon. I have a fenced in yard and four friendly dogs. I also can provide a crate if necessary. I am an AKC certified dog groomer.
“Brittany is the seriously best! She took care of my 2 year old labradoodle, and it was clear from the photos that my dog was having the time of her life in her big backyard and welcoming environment. Thank you, Brittany!”

“We were visiting from out of state and needed somewhere for our pups to hang out while we did touristy things. We looked for someone that was highly rated and after reviewing profiles we found Alexis. We couldn’t be happier with the care she provided our dogs. She’s friendly, competent, and our dogs loved her. THANK YOU ALEXIS!”

“Danielle was the perfect sitter for my pups! She was incredibly easy to work with, responsive, and kind. My dogs absolutely loved their time with her. When I went to pick them up they didn’t want to leave! Would highly recommend. Thank you!!!”

“Marliez was amazing and took such good care of my fur baby and even sent me photos of how he was doing through the day that was so sweet and very much appreciated. I will be booking again soon.”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
