“Buster had a blast with the dogs in the yard. He was all doggie smiles when we picked him up! On top of that, I booked for the wrong day and Richard was nothing but nice about it, and completely accommodating. We’ll be back when we come through Pittsburgh again.”

“Maria has been professional yet personal since I reached out. We set up a meet and greet and Bernie was completely comfortable from the start. Today he visited early and stayed through the day. I’d say he had a blast since he ate and has been asleep since. Maria provided an excellent experience for both Bernie and I. We will visit again! Thank you Maria”

“Alexis was very responsive during our "interview" stage and very pleasant upon arrival. Although prince was anxious to leave he seemed to be comfortable and safe and that's all that mattered. Thank you for being available.”

“Elaine and her daughter are the best! We always have total peace of mind leaving our anxious girl with them. They’re great with dogs and really know what they’re doing.”

“Would highly recommend! When I realized a big chain daycare place wasn't the right fit for my dog, I turned to Rover to try and find a solution. Raleigh and his dog have been absolutely wonderful for my dog Rascal. He's knowledgeable about dog behavior and keeps play appropriate and fun for the dogs. From the meet and greet to the initial visit, he's been kind and listened to my concerns and works with me and my hectic schedule. This has been a great experience and I am hopeful that more people are willing to work with reactive dogs!”

“Excellent with my dog! Great communication, very accommodating. Will have my pup there again!”

About: I have been working with and caring for pets since the 1980s. I currently an self-employed and work from home while taking regular breaks to walk and tend to my own two dogs, Lincoln and Ginger, both of whom enjoy the company of other dogs. I also have two cats and experience caring for small rodents (gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, mice and rats), reptiles and amphibians, and fish. My philosophy is to let animals express their innate tendencies in a safe and structured environment so they feel loved, appreciated, and empowered to behave appropriately in the spaces they share with humans. I spent 20 years owning and operating restaurants and made a career change in 2023 when my sister received a terminal cancer diagnosis. I now work from home as a self-employed restaurant consultant in large part to be able to spend more time with my own pets, including a dog I inherited after my sister's passing. Pet care is at the center of my life and I'd be happy to help you with your pets as I also care for my own. My goal is to walk my dog for at least one hour everyday, and most of the time I achieve that! I frequently take him for outings to large off-leash parks so he can get a sufficient amount of exercise. I also clean my cats' litter boxes daily and feed everyone meals twice per day with some treats in between. If I am watching your dogs you can expect that I will treat them like my own.

“I can’t even explain what a relief it is to have found Valerie! After our previous Rover sitter moved away, I had major reservations about finding someone else to trust with Teddy. All of my concerns vanished with Valerie. She is warm, kind, and truly cares about the pets left in her care. I was spoiled with photos and video updates all day. It is such a relief to know that Teddy has a happy safe place I can rely on. I picked him up and he was happy and obviously doted on all day. THANK YOU so much! We can’t wait to see you again.”

About: I recently stepped down from volunteering 7 days a week for Bridge to Home Animal Rescue located in Washington, Pennsylvania. I loved every moment. I have fostered 80+ animals, and have had personal pets all my life. Currently I have two golden retrievers and 2 rescue cats of my own. My children are learning to have empathy, and have responsibility as I did when I was a child. From the time I was able to work I held volunteer and paid positions in animal shelters, rescues, and helping my friends and family with sitting and training. My husband helps out often as he’s a large part of my rescue life and thankful for that. Nursing school has helped me to be involved in the vetting process for the animals, birthing puppies, and care from seniors to puppies. Cats to kittens. I can give topical, oral, and injectable medications. I’ve worked with dogs, cats, and other animals of all ages. It is my true passion in life. I would work with animals 24 hours a day if I could and it is why I have not returned to a nursing position at the hospital. I handled our main page on Facebook and other socials alongside with my director for BTHAR, where I also fostered and volunteered for many years. I am stay at home parent, and my children are either in a camp, school, or with my parents when I am away from the home sitting pets. They often participate in the care provided to all animals. I have an underground fenced yard with 2 friendly dogs. Both are crate, house, obedience trained and socialized with other animals. I am off of any main road and live in a quiet neighborhood near a school where we often walk the dogs and take them to play ball. They are a part of my family. The cats are dog savvy and love guests as well. I am willing to offer most services dependent upon the animals ability to coexist with animals in my home. I can provide any service needed in the homes of clients. Different times per year change my availability but it will always be updated/discussed.

“Super friendly and accommodating!”

About: I’ve owned dogs my whole life. I currently have 2 sibling Shelties who are 4 years old, they are very friendly and love to play. I work from home so I am flexible with my availability. I can take dogs out frequently for fresh air and to get exercise and attention. There are common areas/open fields in my neighborhood where my dogs love to run and play. I have lots of space in my home including a finished basement with crates for dogs who like to have some quiet time.

“Anita is great! She took great care of my dog and I definitely will be using her again in the future. I highly recommend Anita!”

About: I'm a wife, mom, friend and animal lover. Over the years I've cared for dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, parakeets, snakes, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, mice and fish. I love the chaos and rewards of owning and taking care of pets (and kids lol) I currently work from home, so I have a lot of flexibility in watching and caring for animals. My kids are nine and eleven and absolutely love animals, and will excitedly help and love on your animals in the evenings and on weekends. We have a closed off, finished basement and some rooms in the house that aren't routinely used and are consistently quiet. We also have high-traffic rooms with dog-friendly toys and beds. My dog, Mazie, loves to play with other dogs, but we can easily separate her if needed. If you pup likes to snuggle on the bed, (s)he will be well cared for in my son's room as he enjoys doggie hugs and cuddles!

About: I have been a dog mom for over 15 years, our current dog is an 3 year old sheepadoodle and she fills our hearts with joy, happiness and love. I know how difficult it can be to find a pet sitter and even more difficult to trust one. I would love to be able to help by animal sitting in my extra time, I love everything about animals. My fashion philosophy is, if you’re not covered in dog hair, your life is empty. They [dogs] never talk about themselves but listen to you while you talk about yourself, and keep up an appearance of being interested in the conversation Pet care is a natural part of my daily and weekly routine. Every day, I make time for feeding, walks, playtime, and plenty of love and attention to ensure pets feel happy and secure. I also prioritize regular bathroom breaks and clean-ups, along with weekly grooming and deep cleaning tasks to keep everything fresh and healthy. Caring for pets isn’t just a task—it’s something I truly enjoy and make space for consistently in my schedule. In both my home and my clients' homes, I provide attentive, personalized care to ensure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I follow any specific routines or instructions provided, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and administering medications if needed. I keep their environment clean, monitor their behavior and well-being, and always make time for companionship and affection. Whether it’s drop-in visits, walks, or overnight stays, I treat every pet like family.

Timothy T.
“Tim has always had a knack of befriending animals of all kinds. He has been the caretaker for multiple dogs and cats, as well as other smaller animals (gerbils and a frog for example), over his life. He has the ability to build a relationship with them beyond just their immediate needs of food and shelter. He is very good with picking up on vocal and non vocal signals from dogs and cats and enjoys playing with and just hanging out with them. Exercise is one of his hobbies so walking a dog(s) fits right in. Currently he is the owner of an elderly, special needs dog and he shows extreme patience with her.”

I have known Mary more than 25 years. She is good person, and she is expert at taking care of and training dogs. She certainly has more than 10,000 hours taking care of dogs. She currently owns two very sweet Shetland sheep dogs she trained and cares for. They are playful and respectful of each other and other dogs and humans. She previously had two Australian Shepherds that lived to 13 and 14 years old. They were well behaved and great with people and other dogs.”
