“Cats were well taken care of during our vacation”

About: Getting to know each furry-one’s personality is foundational to providing personalized care. Whether your pet is playful, curious, cautious, mischievous, or lazy, I'll get to know their quirks and make sure they are purring or wagging their tails when you get home! Keep reading for dog care, and for cats click on ‘View fill cat experience’ below. From growing up with ranch dogs to walking neighborhood dogs, spending time with dogs has always been a treat! Caring for your precious pup through play time, walks (with your permission), meals, and scratches behind the ear would be my honor. Experience includes caring for outdoor and indoor dogs in an array of sizes, ages, and energy with delightfully unique personalities and play preferences. Evenings and weekends are best for shorter visits when you're out to dinner, on a day trip, or celebrating away from home. For longer overnight care in your home, I'm typically available to care for your furry loved-one from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Monday - Friday, and most of the day on Saturdays and Sunday. When in your home, I will treat your pet and your space with respect. This includes following all your house rules such as no dogs on the couch, no cats on the counter, shoes off in your home, etc. Creating normalcy in behavior is important for your furry loved-one to know they are safe and for you to know that bad habits won't be encouraged.

“Emily stayed at our home with our two kitties for 5 weeks while we were on vacation. Our older cat had a medical problem and had surgery while we were gone and Emily took care of everything. She was in contact with us with updates, etc. we are very appreciative. Emily loves animals and is very dependable, intelligent and caring. We will definitely have her back.”

“Lou did a great job with our Stanley!!! He met with us the day before we needed to go over a few details. During the day when we needed him to watch Stanley he gave us several updates along the way. Highly recommend Lou if you need pet sitting in Cambria!!! 5 stars!”

“Liora is very sweet, and both my cats bonded with her (one takes a while to warm up). She sent me pictures and videos throughout the time I was gone. With the exception of one communication issue, she was very communicative about how they were doing, what her schedule each day would be, etc.”

“Cami was so excellent with my sweet kitty Lucy - incredibly accommodating with my last-minute requests, and so attentive to Lucy’s needs. I returned to a really content cat which is all I could ask for!”

About: I treat every animal I take care of like they are mine. All of my animals are VERY spoiled and loved and get the best quality care I can offer. I love being outside (weather isn’t a issue I’ll walk dogs in the rain/snow!). I’ve taken care of puppies that needed help potty training all the way to old senior dogs that need special medication 3 times a day. I love all breeds! I believe there are no “bad breeds”. I will love on your dog the whole time I’m with them and treat them like they are mine. I know it’s hard for you to leave your animal, so especially during the 1st couple days I will spend extra time with them to make sure they are comfortable with me and not stressed about you leaving. I also love cats. I’ve taken care of kittens and having to bottle feed them to old cats with maintenance/special lifestyles. I believe cats need as much attention as dogs. I have owned horses for 20 years. I can also care for any and all equines. I’ve worked with unhandled horses to high end show horses. I don’t mind making up grain, cleaning stalls and weighing hay as needed. The only animal I will not watch are snakes. I will happily watch any critter you have! Just no snakes. If I’m being honest I’m absolutely terrified of them. Lol! It is second nature to me. Taking care of animals is just the norm. It is always a priority to me. I’m always thinking about them and how to make them happier. I work, but it is very flexible so I am able to let out for potty breaks and give meds as needed. I will follow your routine with your animals so it’s not strange for them with a new person. They will be treated as if they are my own personal pet. Lots of snuggles, pets, love and treats if allowed! Your house will be as clean as when you left it. I always strip the bed, start any laundry, take out trash, wipe down everything and make sure all dishes are done and put away if applicable.

About: I love animals and have had dogs and cats my whole life. I’ve also cared for other varieties of animals including birds, reptiles and rodents. I’m happy to feed your birds, reptiles or rodents too. I’m currently working part time so, I’ll have plenty of time to care for and play with your animals. I’m also happy to taxi them to doggy day care or the vet. House sitting also available. I treat animals like my own. If they’ll let want to play or lay, it’s fine with me. I adhere to your rules but try to spoil them too.

About: I’ve been a professional house sitter for 10 years. I had a dog of my own for about 5 years-a big beautiful german shepherd who we trained extensively. I love dogs (and cats!) but with my traveling lifestyle, I can’t commit to having my own, but I have plenty of love and energy to give to others. I’m reliable, clean, communicative and love to adventure & hike, especially with doggy friends. I have a flexible work schedule and can work around you and your pets specific needs. Happy to help with high energy dogs, older chill dogs-and everything in between. I believe animals should be treated with respect and love and consistency just like a member of the family. They are full of unconditional love and that should be returned to them.

“My husband and I traveled to the central coast and brought our cat. Hotels do not allow you to leave animals behind in the hotel room, so we made arrangements ahead of time using the Rover App. Edina watched our cat in her home while my husband and I toured Hearst Castle. I brought a large kennel with food, water, bedding and a litterbox so my cat had everything she needed. Edina stayed home to watch our cat and played soothing music for her. We returned to pick up our cat and she was happy. I highly recommend Edina as a pet sitter! Thank you, Edina, for watching our cat. We appreciate that you were willing to watch a cat (most sitters only watch dogs) and that you took good care of her!”

About: I'm a licensed small-animal veterinarian retired from 40 years of clinical work. I'm comfortable with pets of all needs, including medical treatments. I wish to continue service to animals through providing daily care. I love being around animals of all types, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, birds, reptiles, fish, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, etc. I also have a wealth of training experience based on positive reinforcement. I'm retired from clinical settings (working under my maiden name Carol Hansen, DVM), and still maintain an active lifestyle. I'm free most days. My routine is very flexible. I spend time with my own 2 dogs and 5 feral cats. I love travel and seeing wildlife worldwide. I have done pet care for my own and others' pets for most of my life. I'm very honest, trustworthy, and conscientious in making sure animals thrive in a healthy environment.

“My dog Millie loves it with Laura! She treats Millie with extra special care! She sends me daily pictures and everything! She is Millie's new sitter!!”

“Jennifer did a wonderful job of taking care of my kitties. She was great at communicating with me before and during my time away.”

About: As the token "animal lover" friend and family member, I've been the go-to for all things caretaker since I was young. It's my pleasure and joy to spend time with animals; I'm extremely attentive, love to give pets and cuddle. As a pet owner myself, I always worry if the sitters I have to watch my babies are going to be attentive enough and really ensure that they feel loved-- so that's always my MO. I currently work from home with a super flexible schedule, so I'm easily able to accommodate last minute requests as well as regularly scheduled visits for your fur babies! I'm a cuddler, and love to go on multiple daily walks myself, so you never have to worry about me just "checking the box" and leaving. I love to hang around, am very present with my visits, and big on cuddles. I believe I'm the perfect fit for anyone who wants to make sure their fur babies are well loved and seeking lots of pets/ attention. When taking care of another's fur baby, I always strive to meet the animal where they are and ensure that they feel as comfortable as possible as I know missing mom and dad can be hard and produce anxiety. I'm big on giving cuddles, attention, keeping them busy and going for walks, etc. More than happy to administer medication, stick to any special routines, and keep things as "normal" as possible. I'm extremely reliable and responsible; caretaking is one of my callings in this life and I thoroughly enjoy being that resource for others :)

“Michelle is awesome and was great with my dog. She sent photos while I was out and kindly stayed an extra half hour. I’m so glad she was available when I needed a sitter. 10/10!”

About: I possess a deep and unflappable care for all animals-- big or small. I have owned several animals, from cats to dogs and now I am often the friend that asks others if I can take their dog for an adventure. I am experienced with training and dog care for all ages. I am currently starting my own business so I am home often, which allows me to provide the best and most intentional service for your lovely animals. I do not have other animals, so your pet will be my priority. I have a fenced back yard and I am centrally located in Bend, Oregon for tons of walks and play time.

About: I work FT, weekdays 7:30am-4:30pm, but available all other hours, and all weekend. I'm in Morro Bay, an Oregonian import, and living on a sailboat. If you don't want your dog on the water, no problem, we'll go to the beach, hikes, and dog parks. I'm happy to spend all my time with dogs, hence the low low rates. I don't mind lazy dogs, especially if house sitting, but I'd prefer the owners who want there dog to get as much fun and attention as we can so we can both be active together. I have had a dog in my life for over 30 years, I recently volunteered at a Malaysian Dog rescue (cared for 13 feral pooches). My former partner was a dog trainer (so I have extensive knowledge in the field and back up advice on hand) and our dog was a service dog that we trained. Dogs naturally like me, and I'm able to lure even the most timid dogs by way of patient and persistent love. That's why they always eventually trust me, because I genuinely love them. All of them (bad repped too, most of my dogs have been pit mixes). I'm also a great fixer and handyman if needed. Weekends are wide open, Week nights too, but weekdays I work 7-5. Weekends are wide open, Week nights are too, but weekdays I work 7-5. I'm on a sailboat, so if its home stay, pooch needs to be able to be lifted (under 60lbs). Otherwise there will be minivan rides, walks, or park play.

Alexis M.
“Alexis is a caring and responsible person who makes quick, lasting connections with our pets. Not only has she owned and fostered cats and dogs her entire life, but she has also provided pet sitting for Homer, our very special (and now elderly) cat on many occasions. Homer gets overstimulated easily, can come across as grumpy, likes to boss his people around, is indoor/outdoor, and fundamentally prefers males. And yet, during our 6-week cross country trip, Alexis stayed at our home and regularly sent photos of Homer happily (so happily I occasionally told my husband "he doesn't do that for us!") hanging out with her and really not missing us at all! Having been around cats forever, Alexis knows what to be concerned about and what is normal. She gives the right amount of attention, and we come home to a well-adjusted cat. I highly recommend Alexis for your pet sitting needs.”

She is respectful of your home and strives to provide the routine and safe space your animals are accustomed to.”
