About: Hello, I’m Tom! I’m a retired mailman after 33 years of delivering mail and getting to know the wonderful people and pets in my community. Now that I’m retired, I’m looking for a fun way to stay active while doing something I truly love—spending time with dogs! I’m a proud dog dad to several dogs of different breeds, so I’m comfortable with all kinds of personalities, sizes, and energy levels. One of my pit bulls is also a Certified Therapy Dog, and for three years, the two of us visited Marquette Elementary School in Machesney Park, where we loved spending time with the students and bringing a little extra joy to their day. During my years as a mailman, I didn’t just deliver mail—I built relationships with the people along my route and often became friends with their dogs, too! I’ve always believed that dogs have a special way of bringing people together, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know both the pups and their families. My own dogs get several walks a day, so I’m no stranger to keeping up with happy, energetic pups! Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first when im caring for them in your home, follow your feeding, potty, and exercise routine so they feel secure and settled. If you don’t really have a route with pups and are a go with the flow person like I am I can provide, 8-10 potty’s breaks and lots of attention. For safety during walks in my neighborhood, there are no sidewalks so we walk against traffic so we can see oncoming cars with dogs on the right side of me farthest away from the road in grass. In the winter, I follow a cold-weather walking policy for safety: if it’s too cold for me in an t shirt it’s too cold for them! Usually requests winter weather gear like boots and coat but one can be provided(washed after every use with pet safe detergent). (Black puffer and no slip socks.) Night time walking- don’t worry about the days getting darker I’ve got it covered with my reflective gear, flashlight, collar light clips, and more. About: I have direct experience taking care of dogs and animals through helping neighbors and owning a dog myself. Ever since my adorable Labradoodle passed away, I've missed having a furry friend. I can't wait to get to meet so many new pets on a daily basis. I am very patient and know the tricks to make dogs feel like they can trust me and I am a friend in their home. I will be quiet and gentle when entering the home as to not scare them or make them feel threatened. I can be flexible with your schedule as needed since I work a full-time remote job. I still need to be available 8AM-5PM but I can drop in or squeeze in a walk pretty easily. I am available on the weekends unless stated otherwise on my calendar. I don’t own any pets of my own. I am very meticulous and careful with pets I watch for others. Many people would say I am compulsively neat and organized so it comes in handy when handling other pet’s schedules or requirements.

About: I've owned many animals over my life, cats, dogs, horses, chickens, lizards. I've taken my dogs to animal chiropractors, trained my horse and distributed meds accordingly to my senior animals. I've also pet sit for my older siblings on many occasions. I understand that the needs of every animal is different and needs to be attended to. I am currently trying to apprentice in a very competitive field and pet sitting is my in between job while I look for better positions. I live on a small farm, before my dogs passed I walked them twice a day, I have bout toys and boxes to entertain my cats, handled my lizard with care and an appropriately sized tank, and trained my horse slowly and it has really kept him healthy in his old age. Animals in my care will receive the attention, exercise and safety they need. I have a very open schedule as I am not yet employed but have applied at pharmacies. I also work a couple shifts at the Cold Stone and get to bring home ice cream oftentimes. I feed them and change their water every everyday, play with them, search for enriching toys for them to play with. With. Sometimes I put on TV for them and my girl cat likes when I rock her.

About: I have been taking care of animals for roughly 13 years. We always had pets growing up and I did a lot of dog sitting in high school. I grew up on a farm so I have experience taking care of all sorts of different animals I work for a school district so I have fairly short hours during the day and have weekends off. I also have summers off as well as several random days off and full weeks here and there. I work less than half the year so I am very flexible. My house is already pet proofed with locks and baby gates. We have a dog area that is fenced in and has a doggie door connected to our screened in porch that is shaded.

About: I've taken care of my dogs for the last 3 years but also have experience taking care of dogs for neighbors and family friends. My experience includes giving medication to dogs and working on basic skills training such as walking nicely on leash and sitting. My daily schedule is to work from home which has allowed for flexibility in checking in on pets. Because of this, I can check in on a pet almost as often as needed. Pets in my home are put on a tie out for bathroom breaks but also taken to the local dog park to run around if they are comfortable with other dogs. There are also many walking spots that I take my dogs and others to.

About: Get ready for your dog to be spoiled! I am the owner of a 7 acre mini Farm home! Your dogs will absolutely love it here! There are lots of trees around and beautiful grass for them to run around in here. I have always been a natural when it comes to pets, but specifically I love dogs, especially really big dogs! I have had dogs my entire life and I now have a small Shepherd Lab mix at home. I make it a priority to make sure that your dogs are well taken care of, well fed, have lots of fun, and get lots of exercise! So it's more than just a regular boarding/walking experience. Also I am a bit of a photographer so plan on getting lots of beautiful pictures of your dog on the farm from me during their visit. I also have two older daughters who are absolute animal lovers and will play and pet your pups consistently while they are here. I am a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time to take care of your pets, I an usually always home unless I am on a call for thr fire station. My land is not fully fenced off so If need be I will have to walk pups on a leash which is not a problem at all.

I have taken care of a 1-year-old cat along with 3 other adult cats, including a cat who required at least 30 minutes of playtime and interaction every day. I have also cared for a large dog who ate home-cooked soup mixed with his food at specific feeding times, as well as a husky who stayed in an air-conditioned dog house unit and required daily vitamins and attentive care. I am good at following direction for the desired care you and your pet need. I work remotely and any activities I plan I would plan around a schedule if at all with the pet in mind. I typically stay in the pets home to create a less stressful environment for the pet and go about its daily routine as instructed by the pet owner. About: I've had a love/passion for dogs since I was born into this life. Growing up, I've always had a dog in the house, so it easily became the norm for me. I have experience with a wide variety of breeds, including doberman, pitbulls, great dane, labs, boxers, beagles, and mutts. I truly love them all. I'm open to taking care of all breeds. I don't discriminate! One thing I will note is that I specialize in high energy/working dogs and am very familiar with larger breeds. Just to give you a quick example, I raised a Doberman from a puppy which led to me learning A LOT throughout the process. Doberman are a working breed and require plenty of mental and physical stimulation & I think I cracked the code! I’ve developed a deep understanding of what high-energy dogs need to thrive. I'm good at stimulating their minds, keeping them active and most importantly, happy. I'm not a certified dog trainer, but I do understand the importance of balancing their physical and mental well-being, and I'm dedicated to ensuring each dog has a great time with me!
