Kristy was very enthusiastic, professional, and attentive to what I told her. She sent updates and even described their time together in detail. She also seemed very comfortable with my high energy dog. I'd definitely recommend her to others.

About: Hello, I've had plenty of experience working with all breeds of dogs i work at a doggy day care and mange 2 of there buildings! i enjoy dog sitting/ cat sitting because it still allows a dog/cat to be in the comfort of their own home where you know your pet is not only safe but well cared for. Pet care fits into my routine because its nice coming home after a long day and knowing i can go to someone's home and care for their animal and nothing makes a person happier then snuggles from their animal. I do my best to provide the pet a safe place where they can feel comfortable around me so they do not stress while their parents are away. I also like to maintain a very clean environment by cleaning the parents house while i am their so they don't have to come home and worry about having to clean up anything.

This was our first experience using Rover and I was so happy Jessica was available to help us out. She stayed at our place and watched over our senior dog for 6 nights and they got along really well. She was friendly, clean and always very quick to respond to my messages. We even got pictures sent to us while we were away which was a nice way to keep in touch. I will definitely be reaching out to her again when we go away! Thanks Jessica!

Was a pleasure meeting Pam and having her care for our dogs was the best decision. They were so comfortable with her right away. She took wonderful care of them and our home. My dogs have a new best friend. Not sure if they even minded we were gone. We will definitely choose Pam to care for our fur babies in the future without hesitation.

We booked Jasmine to house sit our pup Lenny while we were on holidays for a week. Jasmine was very professional during the booking process, very kind during our initial meet and greet and provided regular updates with pictures throughout our time away. I felt confident that Lenny was in good hands while we were away, which was reassuring. She left the house in great condition as well! Would recommend Jasmine and will use her for future bookings!

About: I provide reliable, loving care tailored to each pet’s unique needs. With over 7 years of experience caring for my own pets as well as my neighbours’ dogs and cats, I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a calm routine, I ensure they receive personalized attention, regular exercise, and plenty of affection. I also have experience caring for puppies who need extra patience and consistency, as well as senior pets who require gentle, specialized care. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule and enjoy spending time with animals, making it easy for me to provide consistent care, walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship throughout the day. I prioritize each pet’s needs and make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while in my care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. Whether caring for pets in my client’s home or during walks and visits, I follow their regular routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise, medications, and any special instructions. I make sure pets are supervised, secure, and receive plenty of attention and affection. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can feel confident that their pets are happy and well cared for while they’re away.

Brooke was absolutely wonderful with our pets, I could tell she loved them and they loved her. As a concerned "parent to my babies" I had reservations about leaving Millie and Ella with someone as they are only a year old and I haven't been away from them much. My husband and I also work from home so our pets are really never alone. Brooke stayed in our home, listened to our concerns, read all our directions, reported to us daily and was very professional and caring. First time using Rover and Brooke, I give them both 5 stars.

Lyra was, without a doubt, the most skilled, patient and friendly dog sitter (and trainer!!!) we have EVER had. Our dogs adored her, and she went above and beyond to train our new rescue dog, working on his fears, barking and leash pulling. I didn’t worry once about either dog, we were updated frequently with pics and training progress, and we came home to HAPPY, brushed dogs and a spotlessly clean house. I can’t recommend Lyra enough!!! Amazing.

Sara came and spent the weekend caring for our 3 dogs and 2 cats. She sent us pet pictures several times. Our pets always seemed happy and relaxed. The house was tidy when we came home. Sara was also kind enough to deal with a repair person while she was at our home. We will definitely use her services again in the future.

About: I’m a reliable and compassionate pet caregiver with years of hands-on experience caring for my own animals, along with professional experience working in an animal hospital. This has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, and safety, as well as the ability to stay calm and attentive in any situation. I treat every pet as if they were my own—making sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you’re away I’m currently working part time serving so my schedule is pretty flexible just waiting to go to school in the fall. I’m always able to work around schedules and what works best for the owner. I’m very attentive when it comes to all types of animals. We have a fenced in yard but live on acreage so my pets have a lot of area to run and play but also no chance of them getting lost because they also are trained. I make sure there are no dangerous areas around my home from sharp corners to things on the ground. My dogs constantly have water but are on a strict eating schedule. My cats are fed at all times and also have water at all times. My dogs and cats usually have a goo rotation when it comes to toys I get them ones that won’t harm them if they rip them apart, but if they do I will buy them a new one. I’d say there pretty spoiled animals but when you love them doesn’t seem like work at all.

About: I’m a loving and attentive dog sitter who has always had a natural connection with animals. I enjoy being outdoors and going on walks, whether it’s with my own dog or the dogs I care for. I also have experience caring for dogs with specific health needs, including administering medication and paying close attention to routines and small details that make a big difference in their comfort and well-being. This has made me very observant and responsive to each dog’s unique needs. I’m confident following any instructions you provide and can help reinforce routines or basic training, such as recall using treats and positive reinforcement. I make sure every pet in my care feels safe, loved, and well looked after, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I maintain a flexible schedule that allows me to offer reliable and consistent care. I plan my days around the pets I’m caring for to ensure they receive the attention they need. I always follow each pet owner’s preferences, whether I’m doing drop-in visits or caring for a dog in my home. I understand how important it is to keep things consistent, so I stick closely to their routine and instructions. If a dog is boarding with me and I need to step out, I’m comfortable leaving them out or using a kennel (whatever they’re used to and what works best for them). I make sure pets feel as comfortable as possible, especially at night. They’re welcome to sleep near me or in my bed if that’s what they’re used to, but I always follow the owner’s preferences (if they have their own bed or routine, I stick to that so everything feels familiar). I also have a fully fenced yard, which is great for safe outdoor time and bathroom breaks. I always supervise and make sure dogs are secure and comfortable in the space. Overall, I focus on creating a calm, safe environment and adjusting to each pet’s needs so they feel at home and well cared for.

FAQs for House Sitting - Wetaskiwin

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Wetaskiwin on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 201 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wetaskiwin. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wetaskiwin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wetaskiwin walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wetaskiwin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
