Third time Melanie has looked after Rosie in our home! As always, we appreciate Melanie's cheerful & dedicated approach to the role, and we can tell how much Rosie loves Melanie by how she misses her (and looks for her!) after we return. Melanie saved Rosie from a groundhog on this stay, so there's never a dull moment!

Inci is awesome. She communicated before, during and after the visit, sent lots of pictures. My dog got lots of loving from Inci and her fiancé. My home Was left spotless. All the dishes were done and away, the linens were washed and folded. She even cleaned up what I refer to as “messy corner”(that place where I just drop stuff until I have a chance to organize it). We will definitely be using Inci again. Thank you Inci.

About: 🦮🤗 hello, Bonjour, Je m'appelle Isabelle et j'ai 39 ans. My name is Isabelle and I just mooved to Val -des-monts. 10 minutes away from perkins at McGregor lake. In Montreal I had my dog clients for 3 years meeting them as babies. I provided care with consistency, fiability, empathy and kindness. I still go visit in Montreal. I miss them a lot. Im offering ; dog sitting/walking, home visits for dogs, cats and small animals. I love the act of taking care in general and the special connection I have with animals. Im a campanion for the elderly and I do home visits. Work shifts are short so i have a lot of availability any time of day. I have been fostering animals for the SPCA. One time, i cared for a pregnant guinea pig who gave birth at my place. It happened a few times that i signaled a hurt pigeon that i saw on the street and put them in a box while waiting for the spca. I volunteer in a cats shelter. I regurlaly dog walk and dog sit. Maria was an absolute joy to have at our house to dog- sit while we were away! She was so good with our 16 year old dog— managing all her little idiosyncrasies without any issues or reservations. She was patient with her and sent us updates daily with photos and videos. I felt that Maria cared for our dog like she was her own— with kindness and love! Maria was so responsible and respectful—our home was tidy and clean and she was happy to do a few other things around the house like watering plants outdoors! I would recommend Maria to anyone looking for A+ care for their dog and home. Thank you so much for putting our minds at ease while we were away!

Kayla was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of our home and, most importantly, looked after our golden retriever, Archie, so well. We came home to a happy dog and a house that was exactly as we left it. Kayla was responsible, caring, communicative, and a pleasure to have stay. We would happily recommend her and have her look after Archie and our home again anytime.

About: What sets me apart is the genuine love, patience, and experience I bring to every pet I care for. I’ve been around animals my whole life and have trained three of my own dogs, giving me experience with different personalities, energy levels, and training needs. I’ve also cared for senior and disabled dogs, as well as dogs who experience anxiety and stress. My own puppy has severe anxiety, so I understand how important it is to give nervous pets extra patience, reassurance, and a calm environment where they feel safe and comfortable. I love making sure pets get plenty of attention and enrichment, whether that means going for walks, playing, grooming, practicing training, or simply spending time together. I treat every animal as an individual and want them to feel happy, loved, and cared for while their owners are away. 🐾❤️ I work part-time, usually 5-hour shifts, and I’m completing university online, so I’m home for most of the day. This means pets will only be alone for a limited amount of time and will get plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and love throughout the day. I’m happy to work around each pet’s individual routine and needs. I care for pets in their own home, keeping them in a familiar and comfortable environment. I follow their normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, grooming, and any special care they need. I treat every home and pet with respect and care, and my goal is to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Val-des-Monts on Rover is $66.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 810 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Val-des-Monts. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Val-des-Monts maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Val-des-Monts walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Val-des-Monts choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 92% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
