About: 🌐Bilingue FR/EN | +30 ans d’expérience | ⛑️Premiers soins chiens & chats — Croix-Rouge. 🐾 Vous pouvez me confier votre famille poilue! Daytime visits Overnight stays Weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays Short-term and long-term bookings For stays of 6 nights or longer, I'm happy to travel up to 250 km from Gatineau/Ottawa. Client’s home: I believe pets feel safest when their routines are respected. Before each stay in your home, I take the time to learn your dog's habits, favourite words, feeding schedule, medications, exercise routine, and any special needs. I'm comfortable administering oral medications (pills and oral syringes), checking for and safely removing ticks after walks, wiping muddy or snowy paws, towel-drying after rain or swimming, cleaning food and water bowls, and handling the occasional "oopsie" with patience and good humour. I pay close attention to changes in appetite, mobility, energy, or behaviour and will let you know promptly if anything seems unusual. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can enjoy your trip knowing your companion is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
“Nooki et Isabelle ont eu une super ballade. Le premier contact a été excellent. Nooki lui a tout de suite fait confiance et semble s’être bien amusé. Isabelle est douce et montre de l’assurance avec les chiens. Elle a su bien s’occuper d’elle parfaitement. J’ai reçu des photos et des vidéos de leur ballade, ce qui était très rassurant pour une première fois. Merci beaucoup! Et a très vite.”

“Johanne was beyond amazing with my dogs. She was always on time, kept up communication, got some fantastic photos and kept us updated about both our dogs. I was worried at first as one of my dogs is a muscular puller and thought for sure that it would be a challenge but not at all. She handled both dogs perfectly and I am pretty sure she taught them to be bilingual as well. 10/10 she will be my number one choice and the only person I will recommend to others. I can not express how happy we were with our experience. I am not sure if there are awards or 6 star status but If anyone from the Rover teams see this Johanne should be given elite status.”

About: Experienced in Veterinary Medicine for 8 years. I've been working with dogs my whole life. Dog walking since 11 years old. Working along professional dog trainers in boarding facilities was a huge plus to help me guild dogs safely around our neighborhoods and parks. I have experience grooming (please contact if you wish to book your dog a groom while they are with me) as well as emergency veterinary care for the past 7 years. My job working in the veterinary hospital is a blessing to be surrounded by animals every second of every day. I am looking to fit some walking into my lunch breaks or night walks in the Ottawa/Gatineau areas. I'm free all day from Friday-Sunday for Pet sitting or dog walks any time of the day. Caring for animals on a daily basis keep me alert and on my toes on what pets are doing all the time. I keep a close eye and make sure they are well and happy.
About: I am the go to dog sitter for all of my extended family, and I have sat for small to large dogs. And I have mostly sat for houses with multiple dogs. I work early mornings Monday to Friday, so I’m free during the normal working day. And full availability most weekends with advanced notice. And I can sit multiple days in a row. I can follow whatever routine you have with your pet. I can follow complex instructions, detailed feeding schedules and I have care for an elderly dog that required diabetes shots daily.
About: I have cared for my family’s dogs for periods ranging from a few days to several months, and I have regularly lived with dogs for long periods of time. Through this experience, I understand that caring for animals requires time, patience, responsibility, and dedication. I truly enjoy helping animals feel safe, calm, and comfortable, and I always try to create a caring environment where they can feel relaxed and secure. I would plan my daily routine to make sure your dog is included throughout the day, with dedicated time for rest, feeding, playtime, and exercise. Your dog would not only be cared for by one person, but welcomed as part of a family environment. I genuinely enjoy the company of animals and feel comfortable understanding their behaviors, needs, and personalities, which helps me provide attentive and caring support. I live in an apartment with balcony, available for pets to move around comfortably. Even large dogs can move freely, and my home is free of fragile objects, so your dog will not feel restricted or stressed while staying with me. I also live near parks and pet-friendly walking areas, which makes it easy to provide regular outdoor exercise and enjoyable walks. I understand the needs and behaviors of animals, and I would adapt my daily routine to the schedule and specific needs of your pet. I am very protective of animals, so your dog would always be safe and carefully supervised with me, especially in open or public spaces. I believe in building trust and discipline through patience, consistency, and positive interaction rather than using force. In general, I connect well with animals and enjoy giving them a sense of safety, comfort, and confidence so they can feel protected and truly enjoy their time with me.

About: I grew up with dogs and have always considered them family. Our first dog, Sasha, was adopted four months before I was born and had significant behavioural needs. She was my best friend for thirteen wonderful years, and caring for her taught me patience, attentiveness, and how important it is to meet each dog where they are. Since then, my family has had two more dogs, and I’ve gained experience caring for seniors, managing specialized diets, preparing food, and handling unexpected veterinary concerns. Our current dog, Zyler, has canine megaesophagus and requires specialized food preparation and feeding techniques. He’s a lot of work, but he’s also the absolute love of my life! I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and taking the time to make sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I am a full time student. I have 3-5 hours of non-negotiable commitments during the week, but I am a homebody and I can be around constantly outside of synchronous in-person classes. I am free Tuesdays. Saturday’s and Sunday’s without restrictions I care for pets by taking my cues from your animal. Having been a foster volunteer, I am aware of signals and cues and how to respect an animal’s boundaries while caring for their needs. I am the cleanest, most respectful house guest and will leave the place immaculate. I will respect homeowners predefined boundaries while providing as much play and cuddles possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Val-des-Monts choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
