About: My husband (Scott) and I have had dogs (and other animals) our entire lives. Over the years, we have consistently opened our home to rescues, strays, fosters, friend/ family pets, and have even socialized 4 litters of feral kittens for the Humane Society. Scott also has close to 15 years’ worth of experience with the Humane Society as a cruelty investigator. In 2024, we had to say farewell to both our aged cat and dog . “Our pup Nova has seperarion anxiety and it's been difficult for us to leave her anywhere for more than one day. We've tried other pet sitters and kennels and it would always break our hearts to see how stressed she would get. We're so fortunate to have found Debbie and Greg. We had a few trial daycare stays before a longer trip in the Fall and while Nova was initially nervous she was able to settle into their home after the first stay. I can't express enough how relieved we are to have found people that Nova feels comfortable with. We can finally go on vacation without having to stress. Debbie and Greg have a calmness about them that helps Nova deal with her anxiety of being without us. They have a calm home environment and a nice backyard that Nova enjoys during her stays. I would highly recommend especially for pup parents that may have a pup with some separation anxiety. I'm comfortable administering oral medications (pills and oral syringes), checking for and safely removing ticks after walks, wiping muddy or snowy paws, towel-drying after rain or swimming, cleaning food and water bowls, and handling the occasional "oopsie" with patience and good humour. I pay close attention to changes in appetite, mobility, energy, or behaviour and will let you know promptly if anything seems unusual. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can enjoy your trip knowing your companion is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

About: I grew up with dogs and have always considered them family. Our first dog, Sasha, was adopted four months before I was born and had significant behavioural needs. She was my best friend for thirteen wonderful years, and caring for her taught me patience, attentiveness, and how important it is to meet each dog where they are.
