About: I have had animals in my home since I was 7 years old. I have had a variety of different animals, and along the way they have all left an imprint on my heart in there own way and have taught me many lessons. I currently live on a farm, and have many animals and experience with many different types of animals. I have taken two training courses, and now train all our own animals. I have also fostered in Calgary for 8 years before moving to the farm. I have specialized in rehabilitation, shy, abused, fearful, and neglected animals. I give these animals grace, a loving, soft and caring place to be able to find forever homes, and in some cases my home was home. I have had seniors, wounded, babies, and sick animals in my home. We have also had new births and babies on the farm. I am truly meant to be taking care of animals, definitely my calling. Now that my kids are grown I left the school system, and I am getting back to what I love. This along with my farm are my commitments. I can devote all the time needed to care for your fur family as required. I have a fully fenced 2 acre area for dogs to play. I do have a heated shop, and outdoor run available, that always are accessable. I have rooms in my home that when we take in dogs it's designated their space. Free roam is all day when home. But unless I need to leave, for the safety of your animals, a round wire area is designated for your pet. Will also depend on frequency and relationship built, these dynamics could change over time.
“I’m super Glad that I found Amanda for taking care of my dogs. She was nice enough to accommodate my last minute booking and provided the best care for my dogs. Everyone in her family was kind and welcoming toward my dogs. I could tell as my dogs got super excited to go to her place every morning and came home happy and tired. Definitely she is going to be my go to dog sitter in future. I would highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a caring and dependable dog sitter.”

“Lynette and Romeo were absolutely fantastic with our dog! They made us feel so comfortable and would constantly give us updates and pictures throughout the day. We have tried doggy daycare before and didn’t love the care or feel like our dog was paid attention to. This was so nice because even though they had three other dogs there, they made sure to give him individual attention and take great care of him. I will definitely be rebooking in the future. He was exhausted when he got home and the next morning when we took him again he basically ran out the car door and was so excited to go see them. Thank you so much for everything!”

“Chester loves going to Whitney’s house. He is so excited when he gets there and is absolutely worn out when we pick him up. I love knowing he is so loved when he’s there.”

“Xi truly is the best! She has an amazing space for the animals both in and outside, she consistently sends photos of my boy having the MOST fun and he always comes home tired after a long day of playing hard with his friends. We had recently switched sitters/daycare as his previous sitter had to move, although Loki is a great boy I was nervous for him being anxious by new environments/people. He has went for the day, a couple hours and spent the night. Xi does it all. She always gives the best updates during the day via the app as well as touches base in person for pick-up. I would recommend Xi to anybody with a fur-baby. Truly a pleasure working with her.”

“Christine has been an incredible with our two mini dachshunds, Cooper and Sadie. We’ve been doing daycare sporadically these past two months in preparation for an upcoming trip. I’ve felt very comfortable knowing my girls are taken care of and loved. I highly recommend Christine.”

“Great communication on the app, Frederique sent a photo midday of my happy furbaby, and she was super friendly in person. Because it was rural and we aren’t familiar with the area, she gave us directions that were easy to follow. She has 2 larger dogs, a lab cross and a husky, that are super sweet & friendly, too. My dog got along well with them and they were unbothered by his socializing and getting to know the place.”

“Amazing yard for the dogs to play in, showed amazing care and my dog came back very happy and tired from a full day playing with the couple other dogs! I also valued her watchful care in observing how the dogs got along. 5 star sitter!”

- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Strathmore commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
