“This was my first time using Rover, and it was amazing Whitney and her family were great! Avery had a great time at doggy day care. Whitney was great to communicate with and her family and dogs were great with my puppy. Will definitly be booking again :)”

“Jeffery and family provided exceptional care for my dog. I was provided with pictures, great communication and they were flexable with timing. I would hightly recommend them!”

“We had an amazing experience with Max’s daycare! From the moment we dropped him off, it was clear he was in caring, responsible, and loving hands. Max came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which says everything. Communication was excellent, updates were reassuring, and it’s obvious that they genuinely love what they do. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy daycare for their dog.”

“Yonathan and Lezette were awesome! They looked after our Murphy on very short notice, followed all of our instructions for his restricted diet, took lots of photos, and even took him on an extra walk. We would love to work with them again!”

“Christine took care of our Gemmi in an exceptional way. Due to a family health crisis in our home Christine was there to make sure Gemmi had care and love she needed during this stressful time. We highly recommend Christine.”

About: Newcomers USE Promo code: SHEENW15608 to get 20 dollars off your first booking! I have a very personal approach to petsitting. I take only one guest at a time. So your dog will get all of my focus and will be in a very calm environment. My dog Marlo is very sweet and calm and is an excellent hostess to our guests. I have been away from Rover for awhile busy with clients I’ve had for many years but I would love to expand my clientele and look forward to giving your dog the best one on one care like they deserve.I have loved animals my whole life. In my late teens I had rabbits and for the last 30 years I have had dogs. Out of high school I worked as a vet tech in training for a year. Then from the age of 21 to my early 40s I was blessed to have 6 dogs in my life 3 of which were rescues. All were with me until their very senior years. I have learned so much from them. Most of my dogs were fairly close in age so they were young together and they grew old together. I had the joy of a pack and I have seen and learned so much through the lifetimes of six dogs, one of which was a paraplegic with IVDD. So I am experienced with special needs dogs, seniors, IVDD, manual bladder emptying, dog diapers, blindness, and palliative care. I am able to administer medications including injections and know CPR and what to do in other emergencies. My experiences have taught me empathy, how to serve selflessly and love unconditionally. When my last dog, who was a paraplegic, passed away I fostered a 4 year old female dachshund with IVDD and working with the rescue fully rehabilitated her. I adopted her (Marlo) in 2024 and she is a great hostess to our guest dogs. I get to meet so many perfect little souls and spend time giving them happy moments, comfort, and security while their moms and dads are at work or travelling. I am extremely capable with seniors and special needs dogs because I understand them and what they need medically, physically, and emotionally. All dogs hold a special place in my heart. I have many repeat clients I gained through word of mouth before I came to Rover and look forward to being more available to start meeting new Rover clients so, though I'm just becoming available, I can provide plenty of references from petsitting clients I've been booked with. *Please note my rate amount covers the the booking fee you pay to Rover and the 30 percent fee I pay to Rover I am retired so petcare is something I choose to do because I love it and so I don’t just work it around my routine. Instead I work the rest of my routine around it. I am home full time so your dog is with my dog and me all the time. I am in a pet friendly condo with a fenced in private dog yard for residents. The area has great parks and walk routes also.
About: Our pets are our family. I'm so happy to be able to look after yours, and will treat them as my own. We recently had to let go of our 15 year old girls, so I know how to look after them in all stages of life, including giving them the medicine they need to be comfortable when they get older. I'm very happy to visit your babies and give them all the love they need. I can do drop in visits, house-sitting, and dog walking, and am flexible so can work with your schedule. I also volunteer as bunny hugger with the Calgary Humane Society, so also have a lot of experience with rabbits, and would also be happy to look after yours. All pets are welcome, and I will look after them with my whole heart. I'm currently living on an acreage, and volunteering with the Calgary Humane Society, Inn from the Cold, and the Calgary Library. I have all the love and time to look after your little ones, and can be flexible for what works for you. I am happy to visit your pet, giving food and medicine as needed, and all the treats and love. I would also be thrilled to take your pup out for a good walk and play. We will talk about your pets needs, and I will ensure they are comfortable, safe, and cared for.
“April accommodated my same day request and took Beau in for me. Normally when he stays at new people's places he doesn't eat much but he actually ate! He was in love with April's son. I think he had a great time there. Would have April and her son look after Beau again!”

“Belle says "thanks so much for such a nice visit with you and DuDu today"! And us humans say thanks as well, and we really appreciate your great communication and your lovely home. Hope to see you again soon!”

“Gail and Ross looked after our 4 year old Havanese and we could not be happier with the loving care and attention he received. They let him settle in at his own pace and gave him lots of snuggles and belly runs when he was ready. Their home and backyard are very dog friendly and we would definitely use their pet sitting services again should we ever find ourselves back in Okotoks.”

About: Hi! I'm a 31 year old professional with a love for animals. My dog Penny and I love to go on adventures and meet new friends. I have had animals my whole life (dogs, cats, rodents, birds) and so I understand the care and patience it takes to have an animal. I am an active person and enjoy going on long walks/hikes right here at home or mountain adventures, which the dogs I’ve cared for LOVE! My dog and I get along great with new people and animals and our home is perfect for dog visitors. I live in a bungalow with a large fenced backyard in Diamond Valley with lots of room to run. I currently work from home and am available to let the dogs in & out all day. My loads of experience and loving personality make this a great side-gig for me, and I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon :) I currently work from home and take my dog to the off-leash park regular to run/swim. We also do lots of walks around our quiet neighbourhood. Our backyard is prefect for the dogs to hang out in on a nice day. I have a fenced in back yard and live on a quiet cul de sac. Dogs are allowed to come in and out as they please while I am at home.
“I had to look for a sitter for my puppy who has seperation anxiety and found Samantha. Samantha was really patient and loving with my puppy who was extremely hyper and in the biting phase. Samantha kept me posted with pictures and videos of my pooch while I was at my job training which helped with my own seperation anxiety from my pup. I would definitely recommend Samantha as a person to care for your pooch.”

About: What sets me apart is that I truly treat every pet like family. I’ve had pets my entire life and have experience caring for puppies to senior dogs, so I understand the extra patience, attention, and TLC they sometimes need. We also have a friendly Golden Retriever who loves having new furry friends to play with! Of course, we’ll always respect your pet’s personality and comfort level. Whether your pup wants walks and playtime, extra cuddles, or simply a cozy spot beside me while I work, they’ll feel safe, happy, spoiled, and loved while you’re away. I work from home, so I’m available throughout the day to give your pet plenty of companionship, attention, potty breaks, and supervision rather than leaving them alone for hours. I’m available for boarding and pet care throughout the week and can be flexible with drop-off and pick-up times when possible. We have a secure, fenced yard where pets can safely enjoy some outdoor time, play, explore, and get their zoomies out! I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications or special care instructions, and their individual comfort needs.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your High River commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
