Growing up, I always knew I wanted to work with animals. I have had cats growing up and had been surrounded by family’s pets. It’s not until I got my first dog, Nova, that I turned my love for dogs into a profession. I’ve worked at dog daycares from 2019-2020 and learned lots of skills with various breeds and groups of dogs during my times there. I took a reputable online course in 2021 on basic training and dog behaviour. Since 2022, I’ve been doing pet care independently. I am open to boarding smaller dogs. My yard is fully fenced. Rest assured that I will make sure your pets gets plenty of care just as I do with my own pups! Every pet deserves the best care and I can cater to their specific needs. Pet safety is my main priority. I won’t leave dogs unattended to roam without a fence. I can take dogs off leash for walks within reason.

What toys are their favourite, do they take medication, and how much food do they get? For walks, it is important to me that they have the appropriate gear to keep them safe (like a harness and a light if it is night). I'll treat your baby like my own, and I promise I'll keep them safe! I have a flexible schedule as a grad student working in research roles. Taking dogs for walks is a great add-on to my day as fits wonderfully with my active lifestyle. I will not offer services in my own home. In your home, I will discuss the location of all necessary items, if areas are off limits, and who to contact for an emergency. I will be sure to understand your dogs' needs and your rules.

About: If you live in Central or West End Halifax there's a good chance you've seen my big fella Dwayne and I on our way to or from the dog park, where we get to hang out and play with a dozen or more of our dog friends almost every day! I'm comfortable with dogs of all shapes, sizes and energy levels, and they're usually pretty comfortable with me too. Your dog and I should be friends too! My schedule teaching Judo keeps me busy 3 evenings per week and for a few hours Saturday, but also gives me lots of availability during the day for walks and drop-ins. I'm not currently able to host your pet, but I am available during the day to drop by your home to spend time with your pet, refresh food and water, and let them out if needed for play or bathroom time.

They are responsible and communicated with updates and pictures after each visit. I felt I could relax knowing they were coming by. I highly recommend them.
This was my first time having Ross as a sitter. He did a fantastic job. In my rush to leave, I left Ross with the wrong key. He was very accommodating and helpful in picking up an extra key at a neighbour's place and adjusting the time of his visit. Things couldn't have worked out any better.
Steph is Fantastic! She has taken care of my cat 2x before and when he saw her as she picked up the keys to my place, he was so excited. That says a lot to me about her standard of care for my kitty as he doesn't get that excited for any other of my visitors. My cat recently developed type 1 diabetes :( since Steph's last visit so he now needs insulin injections 2x per day. Steph having education as a veterinary assistant and experience with this was able to provide her usual standard of care and administer the medication. I was so grateful. I didn't realize she had these skills until this visit. I just thought she was excellent with my kitty. So it really took my stress of travelling away knowing that my cat was in excellent care. Thank you again Steph. I am moving away and wish you were available where I am going. I hope you get excellent clients and open your own service or clinic someday soon.

Haley did a wonderful job taking care of my senior cat and was very happy to deal with all his medications and senior needs. She was very prompt to reach out with concerns she had and I was very grateful to have someone paying such close attention to his eating and behaviour while I was away!
Ben did a great job taking care of our two cats while we were away. Shortly before our trip, one of our cats was unexpectedly diagnosed with heart disease and prescribed 3 different medications- Ben took this in stride and made sure he got his meds.
