“When I say I cannot recommend Cami enough, I genuinely mean it! She is kind, patient, communicative, and really loves your dog as her own! We have done house sitting and boarding with Cami and my dog comes home happy and regulated. There’s no one I’d trust my dog with more! If you’re looking for a sign to book this is it!!”

About: I have taken care of dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, fish and I have worked on a farm the last 5 years. I understand that you want your pet sitter to feel comfortable around your animals. Big or small animals I am your girl :) I’m currently working full time Monday to Friday 8-4 with most afternoons on weekdays open. My weekends are free for any kind of care needed. I have one playful dog and one cat to keep your animals company. There’s easily spot for a crate in my house if needed. For boarding if your animals like to sleep in the bed, they are also welcome to or in my room on the floor with a bed. I’m pretty flexible with how I can work around attending to your animal. If your animal doesn’t like other dogs I can bring my dog to my dad’s house for the weekend with no issues. The only requirement is the cat has to stay as she’s old and this is the only place she’s ever known.
“Morgan and her family and their home were awesome! Perfect fit for our Echo with lots of room to run around and play with Morgan’s lovely girl Hazel. Morgan and her husband were very accommodating to our schedule and super friendly. We have no doubt that Echo was very well loved and taken care of in their home :)”

“I felt comfortable with Malu as soon as I met her for the meet and greet that I requested a few days before dropping my ‘Belle’ off for an overnight. I picked up Belle this afternoon and I could tell she felt comfortable there.”

“We felt very comfortable knowing that Colin was taking care of Rocky. He got Rocky out for lots of exercise and made Rocky feel right at home. Would absolutely recommend him to friends and family!”

“Rosie Mae and Winston was well taken care of while staying with Joseph and his dogs for a couple of nights. Would recommend Joseph as we felt our dogs were in safe hands and will definitely use him again. Thanks Joseph!”

About: I’ve cared for cats and dogs my entire life and currently have three cats and one dog of my own. I understand how important safety, comfort, and routine are for pets. I’m experienced with managing multi-pet households, supervising introductions, and providing separate spaces when pets need time to adjust. I can provide separate spaces for cats and dogs if needed, and I also have a quiet basement apartment that can be set up as a pet-friendly space, giving pets a calm place to relax if they feel overwhelmed at first. Most evenings and weekends I’m home, and I can be a touchpoint for pets in the morning, evening, and overnight. I enjoy keeping pets comfortable and following their usual routines to help them feel safe and calm. For drop-in care, I’m away from the home for up to 10 hours during the day, so drop-ins are best suited for pets who are comfortable with longer stretches between visits. I provide a calm, safe environment for pets, whether in my home or yours. Cats and dogs can have separate areas if needed, and I can set up a quiet space for pets who may need time to feel comfortable. I focus on keeping pets happy, safe, and relaxed while under my care.
“Victoria took awesome care of my chihuahua, Kia. They communicated well with each other although Kia probably took advantage of her. They had a great time together and were a perfect match. She kept me updated on Kia.”

About: I have taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. My lahasa apso had a 24 year run with our family. We now have a cavalier king charles spaniel that love friends. I stay at home now and my kids have moved on and we love the company. I stay at home, I am an empty nester and always looking for something to do. Me and Jax take daily walks at the golf course and always happy to have a friend tag along. Very large fenced in back yard with trees, Country setting near the golf course where we do daily walks. Zoomies are no issue here. 🩵

with Julia ! She took amazing care of our puppy while we were away, and made sure to keep us updated with pictures, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear our pup was happy and comfortable with her. Knowing he was in such good hands made it so much easier to be away. We couldn’t ask for a better sitter and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for loving, reliable care for their pets!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
