Can not ask for better dog sitter. The moment we met Lisa I knew my dog is in great care. I love that I received an honest feedback about my dog’s stay and Lisa’s willingness to accommodate our needs. Thank you, Lisa, for the great care!

About: Hi! I’ve been taking care of pets and animals of all kinds ever since I was a teenager who wanted to be a vet (I’m not!). I’ve worked in a vet clinic, boarding facility and on a horse farm. I’ve had dogs my entire life and have a soft spot for senior fur-friends. I’m comfortable giving meds, grooming and with other special needs. I typically work from home one day during the week and am close enough to come home during the day at lunch for outside breaks. We live on a couple of acres and have a 6 year old, extremely friendly, lab and 2 year old cat at home. The yard is not fenced, so it would be leash walks for any visitors. Depending on the comfort level and habits of the dog, visiting fur-friends would be crated when no one is home.

Moka seemed to have had a great time with Michelle. She was friendly and easy to communicate with, and also provided me updates and photos as this was our first time leaving Moka in someone else's care.

About: I live in Beautiful Memramcook and own 2 goldendoodles age 5 and 6. I have owned dogs all my life and I am now in my 40's. I can care for puppies to senior dogs. I have a large property ideal for play and on leash walks or off leash if your dog is obediant. I am home all day so dogs will have on site supervision. I am home everday. I can care for your dog like it was at home with its loving pawrents. My 2 dogs are very friendly and well mannered. I can crate your dog at night if you wish or they can sleep freely anywhere in the house. For the moment I have a tie down in the backyard and will be adding a kennel in the near futur. I am home so dogs will not be left unsupervised.

About: I've been looking after my friends and family pets for many years now. Being a cat mom myself, leaving my babies alone at home is a huge stress, gut-wrenching feeling and I am sure it's the same for you. I will gladly take this burden off your shoulders and provide the love and care every single pet needs and more... got to get some cuddles in for myself too 😉 I've been passionate about animals all my life, having multiple pets of different species at my side since I was a baby. I know how to give medical treatment and I've also trained all of them so I'm comfortable with behavior problems/agression. There is no cat that I could not cut their nails and I've had pretty challenging kitties 😁 If you need to chat first don't hesitate to reach out, I'll gladly answer all your questions. Thank you 😊 Working in schools, I get the summer off. I'm able to provide more quality time for your pets per every visit any day of the week. I take care of all my babies as if they were humans. Healthy feeding, quality time, yearly visit to vet, emergency vet visit, medications and much more

Jessica was amazing! Winnie had a great time, and was calm and happy when we picked her up. I could tell from the (many!) pictures and videos that Jessica shared that Winnie was doing well. Jessica's love for animals is obvious. I think Winnie really loved not being kennelled during her stay. Thank you Jessica & family for giving Winnie such a great week!

About: We have grown up around dogs our whole life. We have had years of experience taking care of dogs with all sorts of temperaments and activity levels. As shift workers we definitely prioritize our animals and ensure they have ample play time and potty breaks. Our dogs receive a minimum of 1 hr of physical exercise per day. As the days get warmer we spend the majority of the day outside. Our availability reflects the days we are off of work and can spend the entire day caring for your pups! We have two sheepdog/border collie mix dogs who are very active and are very welcoming to any new animal that comes into our home! We will separate all animals for meal times to avoid any issues with food guarding. All dogs will have the ability to roam around the house and our fenced yard freely with supervision.

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Amherst

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 21 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Amherst. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Amherst home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favourite hang-out spots in your Amherst

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
