About: I have always had a love for dogs and that followed me into adulthood where I've spent the last five years working in rescue. Within the last few years, I've pursued my passion of co-founding and becoming the director of a local dog rescue in the GTA (MUTTS Dog Rescue) and embarked on various trips to the US and across Canada to help save and rehome dogs in need. I've fostered 10 dogs (and counting) from 5 weeks old and up, fostered four baby kittens, helped care for three family dogs ranging from puppies to seniors, dog sat a number of times, and currently have two rescue dogs (a husky/lab/shep x and a meximutt) and three cats. Working in rescue has helped me gain a deeper understanding of a dog's mannerisms and behaviours which allows me to advocate for them in the way they deserve. I work from home full-time which allows me more than enough time and flexibility to provide all the things needed to help you and your pets out! With over 25 years of experience under my belt, I have the confidence and knowledge to properly care for your pet whether that be through crating, feeding, walking and/or providing medication. A double leash will be beneficial should the dog be a flight risk and a loose lead walk will be given with proper corrections if needed. My main priority is the safety of your dog. Pet care is a part of my every day life with 2 dogs and 3 cats. I will always make time for my pets and in turn make time for yours! Our pets receive the utmost of care. We have a large fenced yard, multiple crates in the home to provide safety and security, gates in the home to ensure dogs don’t get into anything they shouldn’t, toys are away to manage proper play.
“I see now the difference between hiring a real cat sitter instead of relying on a neighbour to look after your pet. I loved the pictures and updates on how my cat was doing each day. Maria did a fabulous job!”

About: I understand that dogs are our "Best Friends" but I also fully understand and believe that dogs become part of our family and friend circle. We consider them a part of our life...but to dogs we are their everything...they live solely for us and depend solely on us for life. We should always honor and trust that bond . They are truly magnificent creatures and and deserve to be loved. I would take care of your furry family member as I would my own. I have an amazing back yard which is completely fenced my home is pet friendly and I would walk your dog to his or hers favourite park and we will laugh and have fun and meet new friends along the way. Furlove always

About: My family has had a cat almost my whole life! Love the sassy and loveable felines. I also love dogs! I have been dog sitting over the past two years for friends and family all different kinds of breeds :) I work full-time but have usually 3 to 4 days off in a row a week to take care of your lovely pet! My girlfriend also works from home and is amazing with cats and dogs! Between the two of us, your furry family member will be taken care of 24/7. Happy to drop in before and after work as well for drop ins. Happy to walk dogs and take care of cats in my home in Barrie. Mr. Gizmo doesn't like major changes like new friends in his house so unfortunately for myself he has decided to stay with my parents.
“Deanna was great at communicating, sent me photos of both of my cats as requested as well as a video after each visit showing she had locked my home after leaving. My babies were left in good hands while we were away! Thank you again, Deanna!”

About: I began taking care of dogs at 12 years old, starting with my first puppy. I have participated in various puppy classes to support my family dogs as a child, and now as an adult I continue to take part in this learning. I am enrolled with my newest pup now to support his learning, and mine! In my experience over the years with dogs, I have built confidence in taking care of the spectrum of ages from puppies and senior dogs. I am happy to move at a faster pace with more intensive play or stroll along - whatever the pup/dog needs - I am there to meet their needs. ** NEW to Rover - lower fee, while I get to know you! I have flexibility in my schedule to support your dogs needs. Communication is important to me, so should my schedule shift my availability will be updated to ensure you are updated. Additionally, if I make a commitment you and your furry friend, you can be assured that this commitment is a priority to me! It is important that I hear from you about what your dog needs. I am happy to spend time in your backyard letting your pup sniff around or play fetch. I also am keen to get your dog out of the house and moving to walk on routes they are comfortable with or explore new spaces.

About: Dogs - I have owned a dog since I was little and there has rarely ever not been one in the house. Cats- I have owned cats before and also kittens as well. I have completed a full 2 credit Co op at the OSPCA when in high school. I have lots of personal experience and knowledge with dogs and cats, either owning or taking care of them. I do have a full time job but I love to spend my time off caring for animals and getting to know new people and their pets :) I am respectful, easy going, polite, and punctual. I look forward to getting to know you and your animal(s). I currently work full time at Costco but I make time out of my schedule for taking care of animals because I love to do it I own a dog and he is very friendly. I’ve had him since he was a pup and he’s high energy so we spend time on a lot of walks, and we do a lot of enrichment time whether it’s just playing or doing tasks for treats. If I were to come to a clients home I am very respectful and will focus on your pet and make sure all their needs are met and are well looked after. Let me know of any routines to follow or just basic care and daily feeding schedules.

About: Hi! I’m a compassionate and reliable pet caregiver with hands-on experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and needs. My background includes looking after a young small dog while providing care for a senior citizen, which involved daily walks, feeding, bathing, and keeping the space clean by managing pee pads. Most recently, I worked as an in-home dog caregiver for two medium-sized dogs ages 1 and 3 . I was responsible for walking them multiple times a day, maintaining their feeding schedule, giving them plenty of attention and playtime, and ensuring the home stayed safe and secure while the owners were on vacation. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and take pride in providing safe, attentive, and loving care—whether that means going on long walks, sticking to a feeding routine, or simply keeping pets company while their humans are away. Your pets will be treated like family with me! I’m available for dog walks 4–7 PM on weekdays and have open availability on weekends. I’m also able to provide extended in-home care when needed. I offer a safe, comfortable home for small to medium dogs, with parks nearby for walks. When caring for pets in your home, I follow your routines and can walk your dog in your neighborhood to keep things familiar.

About: I've lived my whole life with pets, and am a very responsible pet owner. Currently do not have any dogs of my own, just one Siamese cat who also loves dogs and will want to play with yours(can handle any size of dog). I use a lot of affection, play time/exercise and positive reinforcement training to help your dog feel comfortable while away from their family. I've even trained my own dogs to bow, roll over, and play dead (as well as the usual commands)! My current availability is very flexible, over weekends and the holidays as well and I am happy to make accommodations for you and your dog if the fit is right. I take every precaution when it comes to pet care, so you can feel comfortable and trust that your dog is in good hands!
“Thank you Samantha for your kind care and regular updates while we were away for a week. Our cat was very pleased to meet Samantha and to have her visit twice daily for meals, medication and lots of attention. Great to know that Samantha had everything in hand while we were away.”
About: I am an animal enthusiast who has always been attuned to the needs of animals. I have experience with mainly cats and dogs but honestly love all creatures. I have so much care that I would love to share and feel like helping others care for their animals would be a great way to spend my time. I am open to almost all schedules at this time. Reach out to me and we will figure out if I'm the right sitter for your pet. My dog is always leashed outside and I take her on multiple walks a day. I do have a fenced backyard as well. She is friendly with other dogs while boarding so I would not have any concerns. But if needed I do have the space to keep your pet separate/crated.
About: I am some who works to provide consistent, attentive care. I have spent time with a wide variety of dogs different sizes, ages, and personalities. So I am comfortable adjusting to each dog’s routine and energy level. I focus on clear communication, sticking closely to your instructions, and making sure your dog feels safe, calm, and cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I work a hybrid schedule and am home three days a week. On weekends, I am a homebody, which allows me to be flexible and available. This setup makes it easy for me to visit your dog regularly, keep consistent routines, and be present as needed throughout the day. I plan schedules around the pets in my care rather than fitting them in as an afterthought. I treat every pet as part of my family, whether I am caring for them in our home or visiting theirs. I will follow your instructions closely, provide plenty of attention and companionship, and maintain a safe, calm environment. Walks, playtime, meals, and rest are all handled according to your pet’s routine, so they feel comfortable and secure. My goal is the same everywhere: pets that are happy, relaxed, and well-cared-for.
About: I have always had pets my whole life and believed that my kids should grow up with pets. I treat my pets like my fur babies. So when I go away or they are sick it’s important that they get proper care. I also understand that people need to work and sometimes having pets makes that a wee bit challenging. That’s where I can come in. Our pets get sick and require medicine that has to be given sometimes throughout the day and taking time off work doesn’t always fit into the schedule, I can help with that. I have dogs (my younger one) that has energy I also have a grandbaby puppy (my son) and they require walks more often then sometimes we can give them or they need that extra visit to help with energy levels for when you get home. I can help with that I love dogs … I would definitely say that I am a dog mom. I will care for your fur babies like they were my own At present I work only weekends but will be retiring this coming year. I am available to help out with your pet Monday to Thursday (anytime ) and Friday after 11am I think meeting me you will see that I am a dog mom. I have no problem helping with cats but we all know cats are a very independent creature. If they require medicine I can help with that. Dogs require more hands on attention which I can help with that. I would treat your pet like it’s my own and coming into your home I will respect that as well. Trust is everything !
Barrie dog parents share their Rover experiences
Huge thank you for taking such great care of our pets! We only heard about Rover last minute but Catherine was super experienced and gave us peace of mind instantly! We got very thorough updates with pictures of everything they did. The dogs seemed very happy and she went above and beyond each visit. Very reliable and always on time! Highly recommend!

Meeting Randi, I loved her instantly and she her experience with senior dogs and medication was a plus. She has come a few times now to look after my senior dog and she has been amazing! When I get home Stella’s love tank has always been filled up by Randi so she doesn’t even meet me at the door lol.

Tatyana is the best! My two fur babies always have the best time when she comes over to care for them. I always feel content knowing they are being well looked after when I am away. It’s not easy to find someone that has so much confidence handling a Belgian Malinois. Tatyana always goes above and beyond.
