Baylee was wonderful! She was reliable, responsive, and took great care of our very shy and particular German Shepherd. We just moved into a new house so we were worried about how he would do when we were gone but he did great with Baylee! We came home to a happy, healthy dog and we will definitely be using her again to watch Mav 😊

About: Hi! I’m Ashley, and I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life. I grew up on a farm, so caring for animals has always been second nature to me. My stepdad was the head of animal control, which taught me a lot about animal behavior, safety, and compassion at a young age. I’ve had dogs my whole life and currently share my heart (and couch!) with two of my own—Sassy, my sweet 17-year-old dachshund who I’ve had since 2011, and Oakley, a playful 6-year-old lab I adopted from the local animal shelter. I understand the unique needs of both senior dogs and high-energy pups, and I treat every animal in my care like family. Whether your pet needs gentle senior support, active playtime, or just some extra love while you’re away, I’m here to help with dependable, loving care. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I work from home most of the week, which allows me to give my dogs plenty of attention, potty breaks, and playtime throughout the day. On the days I’m in the office, I’m only five minutes from home, so I’m able to come back easily to let my dogs out and check in on them. Their well-being is always a top priority, and I structure my day to make sure they’re comfortable and cared for—I’d do the same for yours! I care for pets in whatever way is most comfortable for them. I follow your instructions closely to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. If your pet loves their kennel, that’s perfectly fine—but if they prefer to cuddle up in bed, I’m more than happy to share the extra snuggles! Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding routines, or just relaxing on the couch, I do my best to make every pet feel safe, loved, and right at home.

We love having Kristen help us out with our dog Mae. She follows instructions perfectly and has helped us a lot with reinforcing training commands. Kristen is super punctual and we always know we can count on her 100%. It is obvious how much she really loves caring for your pet too. I would highly recommend her (and I have)!

About: Having experience in taking care of animals since I was young and going on to intern at a vet clinic and being a member of FFA, I have learned to have compassion and love to take care of animals of all shapes, sizes, and breeds. I am currently working weekends, so I'll have plenty of time to play and have interactive fun with pets during the week days and am willing to accommodate whatever they need. About: I’ve always had dogs and love caring for animals. I lost my beloved dog and I miss her wildly. Spending time with dogs allows me to honor that bond and brings me genuine joy; I truly enjoy getting to know each animal unique personality. I treat every animal woth the same kindness, patience and love I gave to my own dog. I have a very flexible schedule and I can give pets the attention, supervision and companionship they deserve 24/7! I don’t work so I’m completely free to take care of your fur babies. We travel extensively in our motorhome, but we are based in Michigan. Our Michigan home has an acre of woods for the dog to enjoy. There are no roads nearby and it is very safe and quiet.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was young. I love dogs unconditionally and love to play with them, I feed them when needed, I can give baths, and I love to take them on walks. My friends and family have relied on me to dog-sit whenever I was available to do so. I’m currently an MSW student and work part time at the moment. Wednesdays and Fridays will typically be completely free all day. Monday, Tuesdays, and Thursdays I work till 5 PM in Grand Rapids. If services are in Newaygo I’m free at 6 PM once I’m back! I LOVE dogs so this is more of a side thing since I just genuinely enjoy playing and taking care of pups :) I have a fenced in yard and a very playful energetic dog. He is very sweet but he is like our baby so we don’t like to bring other dogs in just because he can get jealous and we don’t like to risk it.

About: My daughter and I are dog sitting for two reasons -- we flat out love dogs and my daughter is saving for college. While supporting my daughter's entrepreneurial spirit your dog will get a vacation of a lifetime. Without getting too deep into my resume, here are some highlights: -Handled five police dogs. 1000's of deployments. -Master Trainer for the International Police Work Dog Association. -Developed and taught a unique dog safety program. Have presented the hands on program from everyone to 1000's of second graders to regional UPS drivers. -Recognized expert witness in court on dog tracking, aggression, training, and deployment. -Over 75 nationally published articles on dog obedience, housing, behavior, training, etc. -Tested, certified, and trained working dogs from nearly all 50 states and several countries. (This year I've had dog teams travel to my home from Montana, Florida, Iowa, etc for assistance). I do all this because I simply love interacting with dogs. The love has spread to my 13 year old daughter. I currently have a very fun, young, and goofy dog -- a Vizsla named "Ranger." He clearly isn't a working dog and isn't a picture of obedience perfection. (I only mention this to let you know that despite my resume your dog doesn't have to be perfect and is coming into a very fun and loving household!) We've truly been a dog centered household for 20 years. My wife is a literal Saint! My private dog training rates, and I've turned down much more work than I've accepted, runs 10x the Rover.com rate we are charging. This is truly a venture that partners up youth business and the love of dogs. Long live Capitalism, dogs, and the USA!

About: I have been around animals my whole life and am not afraid to get my hands dirty if I have to! If you need a pet sitter who will run your hyper dog around the yard for hours to get them to go to sleep, I'm your girl:) I have experience mainly in shepherds and larger dogs since I have been watching them since I was about 14 and grew up with 3 shepherds and a lab. That said, I can handle all dog sizes and cats if you need me to! I had a Miniature Schnauzer for over 10 years as well so I'm comfortable around smaller and elderly pets if needed. Not to mention, I have experience in caring for other animals such as guinea pigs:) I also used to volunteer at the local humane society so any age of dog I can handle. I have a full time job throughout the week but I have plenty of time to do pet care! Especially on weekends & overnight stays. I will gladly try to work around my schedule to get all your pet needs:) I have been overnight pet-sitting for about 10 years and have fallen in love with it. I love spending as much time with the animals as possible so they can get used to me and know it's okay to put their trust in me. I treat any pet like it is my own so you have no need to worry about if they are getting enough attention or not!

Miracle is exceptionally responsible and compassionate! We had a death in the family and unexpectedly needed help while being in a town where we didn't know anyone. Having Miracle help was truly a blessing! She showed up on time, kept us updated throughout her visit, and was so accommodating with all of my silly over-planning (grief means increased emotions and Miracle was so patient and kind with me!). Thank you so much, Miracle! Our whole family is so grateful for you!

About: I have had a dog since I was 3 years old. I have dog sat for a variety of people back in Montana and in Michigan. I'm super excited to meet new people and dogs! I also get along with other animals as well. Growing up I had pigs, chickens, horses, and a dog. I have dog sat for other families since I was 13 and have been dog walking since I was 10 just for neighbor dogs. I have dog sat a three month old puppy for 3 months while his mom went out of the country. My schedule is pretty open and flexible. If you need to know anything else just let me know I'm glad to answer any questions. I love me some doggy time 😊😊 I am currently working full time first shift but outside of that I can spend as much time as need with the pets. I can also extend my lunches to check on them during my lunch as well. I can ensure your dog will be safe while you are away and worry free. I like to send lots of pictures and updates of how they are doing!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was child. My family raised our family dog since she was a puppy and even potty trained her. I also have experience teaching dogs commands as well. My schedule has changed! I’m willing to board only on weekdays. Drop-ins and walks on any day of the week! Let me know if you have my questions! I have a fenced in yard for dogs to roam as they please. My home also has plenty of space to house them and to ensure that they can have whatever set up they need. About: I live and am registered on this app in Twin Lake, MI so I will show up in that radius of search, but have places to stay near Spring Lake, MI, Zeeland, MI and Coloma, MI and can help out in those areas as well. If you know anyone in these areas who needs pet watching feel free to connect them with me. All prices listed can be negotiated by either me or clients upon confirming more details (distance to home, time of stay, ease of pet care, amount of pets, etc.) none of the listed prices are fixed but keep in mind they are an average charge. "Nightly" charge includes a "full day & full night" charge. If you wish for only a "full day" or only a "full night" of in-home stay at your home, the price will be $65. My home is not publicly available but the option isn't completely off-limits; we can discuss the possibility if it's absolutely preferred/necessary for you/your pet(s). I have access to 70+ acres of land in the family for safe dog running, including the option for guarded dog socialization at the house, if you allow. I know a bit of the surrounding areas and go on lots of outdoor adventures (river fishing, lake fishing at our Baldwin cabin, ice fishing (our Baldwin cabin & other locations), mushroom hunting, general hiking, outdoor workouts and jogging, etc...) and would love to have your pet experience these exciting trips with me, depending on your comfort. I volunteered at Howling Timbers Animal Sanctuary in Muskegon and had the opportunity to interact with many wolf-dogs, general farm animals, and other wild animals that were rescued. One of the wolf-dogs, named Bear, was particularly picky & known to have been violent with other workers but warmed up to me well on my second day working and I had no issues with him. I've always had a dog growing up, limited to one 40-60 pound at a time. I owned my own German Shepherd/Labrador mix for about a year but the dog stayed with my ex when splitting in 2016. I've been caring for my own pets at home (including cats & fish), as well as spending time with friend's & family's pets (including birds and a variety of your basic farm animals) since I can remember. 26 years of watching Cesar Millan and Crocodile Hunter with my family & living with & encountering several animals has instilled in me the skill to properly love and care for your pet. My boyfriend of 7 years (Tom Wall) grew up on a deer farm with multiple dogs constantly around as well, so if you are away or the vet is unreachable he has professional skills to assist, only if you allow. I also have close friends that are vet techs and can be reached for emergencies if necessary. As well, Tom had a blind senior Jack Russel who took oral medicine by syringe, and I've worked with similar needs on past dogs. I tend to be more strict when it comes to training dogs in certain areas (jumping up on people, obsessive/constant barking, leash tugging/distracted wandering, coming when called, biting, aggressive behavior while playing or eating, etc.) but have a very lenient heart for snugs on the couch, snackies, and socializing with other people/animals. This is all adjusted to however you allow as long as it's safe for all involved. If sitting for a puppy, I am willing and able to train for basic commands (sit, stay, lay down, gentle, etc.) all dependent on what you as the owner re comfortable with. The reality is, I do not currently have any pets because my boyfriend & I are not home often enough and understand fully that just our love and adoration alone isn't enough to provide a full, quality life for a pet. We need to be able to dedicate hours each day to outdoor time and genuine training and bonding, but right now we just don't have those resources for our own pets. Until the day we are both available enough to fully care for an animal, I will spend as much time with friend's pets, family's pets, neighbor's pets, or catch a request on here and meet a new pup. Every experience I get with someone else's pets helps train me for the future I am eagerly awaiting. I can guarantee I already love your pet and want you to know you are always leaving them with an honest, knowledgable and responsible sitter so they will be safe and content while you are out. Any mile over 15 from my staying place (in any city location) I ask to add $0.50/mile to cover the gas, travel time, and a little extra wear on my vehicle. That includes travel to/from your house *for each drop-in visit*, and each all-day visit will be a one-time to/from travel cost. (example: you live 20 miles away and need me to drop-in twice, this will be a drop-in charge + $10 for extra gas to & from, while an all-day visit will be all-day charge + $5 for gas charge.) If I will already be in the area for some reason (perhaps another client) I will not charge this extra gas fee. I am already an active person who travels often so being able to pass through an area while travelling & get in a quick walk with a dog or drive out & stay a few days with a pet is something so regular for me. Caring for a pet in a client's home will go as to detail as the owner requests as possible. I want to be sure to care for their pets the same way they would, or better, if possible, and leave their home looking as though I was never around. If I offer care in my home (currently unavailable) the pet would be a big part of my & my boyfriend's regular outdoor adventures (if owner allows) and may even meet & socialize with multiple other pets (if owner allows). I have flexible jobs and am able to provide ample attention to your pet that is required. I jog regularly and I will enjoy bringing your dog with me on the nearby trails. I do not have my house publicly open to sitting at my house. If you absolutely need your pet to be watched outside of your home, we can discuss the details when the time comes.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
