“Cailynn kept us so informed after her visits with Simon! I’ve only had him for a year and Simon is my first cat ever so I was nervous about leaving him. The updates and pictures gave me peace of mind that he was comfortable and taken care of. I will definitely be asking Cailynn to help me again!”

“Thank you, Deanna, for taking care of our three dogs over the last couple days. Everybody was in good spirits when we got home. The dog seemed to enjoy spending time with you. We look forward to using you again when we travel.”

“We couldn't be happier with the care Candy provides for our dog Sophie. At 13 years old, Sophie has unique needs, and Candy handles them with remarkable patience, kindness, and attention to detail. She is reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. Knowing Sophie is safe, comfortable, and loved while we're at work is invaluable. Candy is truly wonderful, and we highly recommend her services.”

About: Hello! I recently joined back on Rover. During Covid, my husband and I became parents to a little boy and it was time to take a break. Now I'm back! I work remotely and my schedule is pretty flexible during the day. I'm available for walks, check-in, and doggy daycare (in your home, sorry I don't like to stress my cat out with new animal friends). A little background: I have always grown up with medium to large dogs and have dog sat for family/friends for over 10 plus years. I have a cat named Cali (6 years old) and have had dogs and many types of fish growing up. I love all types of animals so I am happy to take care of any other family members you may have. I am very responsible and will always be punctual to any appointments, as well as be easy to contact. You can contact me by email, text, or call. I'm happy to play, walk, and care for your pets and of course, am very willing to put forth the patience and time needed to get to know your dog. I also love the outdoors, and will happily run/walk with your more energetic dogs. Thank you! As a stay-at-home mom, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide daytime walks and drop-in visits throughout the week. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I enjoy spending time outdoors, staying active, and giving pets the attention, exercise, and companionship they need. When caring for pets in a client's home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal as possible. I'll follow all feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions while making sure your pet receives plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel comfortable while you're away. At this time, I am primarily offering dog walks and drop-in visits for all animals. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind.

About: I have been dog and house sitting for over 4 years. I love animals and will treat your dog like my own. I do have 2 dogs so I understand the importance of routine, especially while their people are away since it may be a confusing time for them. I love exercise so I’m comfortable with dogs of varying energy levels. I work full time but I am available for most mornings/evenings during the week and most weekends. Please contact me to work out specific dates/times :) When I care for dogs, I usually let them run around the house or my fenced in back yard if I’m home. I also have a designated (large) room for them to hang out in if I’m leaving the house or in case they need some quiet time.
“Shannon is very kind with humans and pets. She took care of my dog while I was away for a week. She was extremely reliable, making each visit on time. Shannon gave my dog his daily medications and treated the diarrhea my dog usually gets when I am away. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing my dog was well taken care of.”

“Carly has been so wonderful and reliable for our dog, Phoebe! She has provided weekly drop ins for a couple of months and one long overnight stay so far, which she extended a night on short notice for us. She provides us with consistent updates and communication and Phoebe is always a happy girl after each of her visits. We highly recommend Carly, she’s been one of our best Petsitters to date.”

“Sheena has always been so great with both our dogs! Our dog Jake has trouble getting along with some people but she took the time to come have a little meet and greet with him before we left for our trip and he absolutely loved her! She is extremely reliable and gives regular updates. Absolutely recommend!”

“Abby is above and beyond as usual. She took great care of our dog and four guinea pigs. Two of our pigs needed extra medical attention (oral medicine + eye ointment), and she handled it really well. She also took adorable pictures of our pets to let me know they are healthy and happy. I highly recommend her!”

About: Hi! I’m Maggie, a lifelong animal lover who grew up surrounded by dogs and now shares my home with both cats and dogs. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life, and I truly adore every personality, size, and breed. Because I’ve spent my whole life around pets, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust. Whether your furry friend is playful and energetic or shy and slow-to-warm-up, I meet them where they are with patience, comfort, and lots of love. I’m a huge believer that every animal deserves to feel safe, seen, and cared for. I’m reliable, easygoing, and deeply committed to making your pet feel their best when you’re away. I provide plenty of updates and photos so you never have to wonder how they’re doing — you’ll always be in the loop. If you’re looking for a genuine, experienced, and animal-obsessed caregiver, I’d love to meet your pets! I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate pet care most days and at nearly any time. This flexibility makes it easy for me to plan my day around scheduled visits, ensuring your pet receives consistent care without delays or interruptions. Whether you need morning, afternoon, or evening check-ins, I’m able to provide reliable and timely service that fits your pet’s routine. My one cat has to be monitored due to his urinary/renal issues, my roommate's dog also has urinary issues so keeping an eye on both has created great habits when caring for mine and others animals.
About: As a lifetime lover of all friends furry and fluffy, I’m passionate about giving cats and dogs all the joy and love they can possibly get! I have a 2 year old “free range” holland lop bunny who loves to keep me on my toes! I have many years experience with a variety of pets, particularly rabbits and dogs, and would be thrilled to be another human playing a role in helping to take care of yours! I do work full time, however I’m lucky to have a flexible schedule that allows for some daytime walks and well deserved treats for your furry loved ones! Whatever your pets’ routines—from feeding and refreshing water, to scooping litter boxes or going for walks, as well as all the playtime and cuddles in between—I am here to ensure they are well cared for and feeling the love. Your pets are your family and caring for them is just as important to me as caring for my own!

“Great care for my sick kitty cat! MK make a point to come over before I left so we could connect and she could meet Mari. MK made sure Mari took her medicine, which was very much appreciated.”

“We booked Mike to do drop in visits on our 1 year old cat, Nash, while we were away on vacation. He updated us daily and took great care of Nash all week. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a cat or dog sitter.”

Markie is perfect! When a dog's human returns home and the expression is "oh, it's you" that means our beloved pup is calm, content and secure in the knowledge that everything is fine and someone will always come through the door and take care of walks, food, and lovings. For us, that has been Markie. Stella loves her and so do we!

I had Emily do a drop in with my cat for 7 days. He is usually afraid of new people and hides. Not with her. He was out and played the whole time Emily visited. He even waited at the front window for her to come. She was amazing. I received at least 5 photos a day of him, plus videos. She fed him, checked his water and cleaned him litter box for me. I really appreciate how well he was taken care of. I will definitely be using her again. Thank you for everything you did with my Binx boy!!!

Bailey is a very responsible, pet loving sitter who really impressed me with all she had done for my cats. I have a cat with a nervous stomach, so much so that when I'm gone for a few days, he almost always gets sick... she noticed the mess and actually cleaned it up! Not many sitters will do that extra chore and I just thought that was very kind of her. She also accepted the job at the very last minute. I had booked with a different sitter a couple of weeks before my vacation and she texted me the day before i was set to leave, explaining that she had no way of getting to my house to pet sit for me. So, all in all, Bailey was there for me when I really needed her and my cats warmed up to her pretty quickly. I'm extremely happy with all that Bailey has done for me and I hope to be able to book with her again, she's great!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
