About: I've been in the house/pet sitting business for a couple years now. I've worked in houses with anywhere between one animal to seven animals! I am absolutely open to exotic pets as well as I have a few of my own and would love to meet different species. I also worked in a zoo for 4 years, and currently work in a vets office, so I have plenty of different experiences. I look forward to meeting your babies:) I currently work at a vets office Thursday-Saturday from 9am-5:30pm (1pm on Saturdays), and volunteer Sunday nights, so I would unfortunately not be able to provide around the clock care. Otherwise, I am at the home all day! I am open to frequent walks, brushing, bathing, giving medication, and any other specific needs for your pet! I understand how tedious and picky some animals tend to be, so I'm open to any accommodations necessary.
About: I love animals and will treat your fur babies as if they were my own. I will communicate consistently and send photo updates on visits. I do work full time, my current hours rotate Monday through Friday. Weekends are always free unless I have military obligations, my schedule will reflect accordingly if so. I have two cats who roam around the house as they please. Security is important to me and I always double check doors and ensure nothing is out that may pose a threat to anyone in the house.

About: Growing up, I’ve always been surrounded with pets and been given the opportunity to care for dogs numerous times. I am very patient with animals and genuinely find joy spending my time with them. After recently graduating from college and moving into a studio apartment, it has been an adjustment not being surrounded by pets. Through Rover, I’m excited to not only help others, but also to find fulfillment spending time with pets. Although I work a 9-5, I am willing to make plenty of time before or after work to accommodate your needs. I am a morning person, so I would be more than happy to take your dog on an early morning walk or be there to let them out. I also will be able to take care of them in the afternoon. My weekends are free to help at any time. You can trust me with your pet because I treat animals with the same amount of respect that I’d treat any person. It is my priority to ensure their safety while also having fun. I would love to take them on walks at the park and am open to having them at my apartment if needed.

I'm based near Florida Ave NE in Washington, D.C., and I proudly serve clients across the DMV including Southeast D.C., Navy Yard, Capitol Hill, NE/SE neighborhoods, and parts of Maryland and Northern Virginia. I grew up surrounded by pets especially dogs and was always the one helping walk, feed, bathe, and care for them. I’ve even assisted dogs and cats during births when I was younger, which gave me deep insight into caring for animals at all life stages. Whether your pet needs a brisk walk, quiet cuddle time, medication, or just dependable daily visits, I’m here to help with care that’s loving, professional, and tailored to your routine. I'm comfortable with: ✔️ Dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes ✔️ Senior pets or those with special medical needs ✔️ Puppies and high-energy pets ✔️ Flexible scheduling and last-minute bookings when available Let’s make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away! Pet care is an important part of my daily life. Living near Florida Ave NE, I’m often out walking dogs in Navy Yard or stopping by for quick visits around Capitol Hill and SE D.C. I’m available mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and flexible with last-minute requests. Caring for dogs and cats isn’t just part of my routine, it shapes it. I love giving pets one-on-one attention and helping busy owners in the DMV feel at ease. I take pet safety and trust seriously, whether caring for pets in your home or mine. I follow all instructions closely, keep spaces clean and secure, and ensure your pet feels comfortable. On walks, I avoid crowded areas and match your dog’s pace. Pets staying with me enjoy a calm, pet-friendly environment. I provide regular updates so you feel connected and confident while you're away.
About: I've taken care of dogs and cats of all kinds ever since I was roughly 13 years old, and am also able to administer medications to animals. Family members, friends, and referrals/new friends have trusted me with their pets time and time again because I genuinely enjoy spending time with and taking care of their critters as if they’re my own! I also have experience with farm/unique animals like chickens, chinchillas, guinea pigs, rabbits, snakes, etc., and I have experience caring for epileptic dogs, as well as senior animals! My availability is quite flexible, and I typically have the ability to run over and do house visits or walks as often as they are needed, and I’m able to provide housesitting services, too! I unfortunately am unable to host animals in my home due to rules against it (I’m a renter). I apologize in advance if this causes any kind of inconvenience. But I’m able to happily provide housesitting/petsitting services at my clients homes.
About: Hi, and thank you for visiting my profile. I have been caring for animals since the age of five and have developed extensive hands-on experience over the years. I currently own and care for a variety of animals, including three horses, two sheep, a dog, three cats, a flying squirrel, and a chinchilla. This diverse background has given me valuable experience in handling pets of all types, sizes, and temperaments. I am confident in my ability to provide reliable, attentive, and compassionate care to animals of any age or breed. I am also skilled in basic training techniques and can assist with bathing and giving medications as needed. My approach is always patient and respectful, ensuring your pets feel comfortable and safe in my care. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and your beloved pets. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or specific needs. I currently work PRN at the hospital, which means I pick up shifts when I want to! My typical hours when I do work are 7pm–7am. I’m also a full-time nursing student, but even with my busy schedule, I always make time for your pets. I don’t offer boarding in my home just yet, but I’m more than happy to come to your home to care for your pets! If you have ANY questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask — I’m very responsive and always willing to help. Whether I’m house sitting or just stopping by for a check-in, your dog will get plenty of attention and time outside. I genuinely enjoy spending quality time with pets—whether that means playing, going for walks, or simply relaxing with some snuggles. I believe dogs deserve companionship and stimulation, not long hours confined to a crate. When they’re in my care, they’ll stay active, engaged, and loved—chances are they’ll be happily worn out by the time you return!
“Deshawn did a great job walking our pups for us over a multiple day period. He is very nice and enjoyable to chat with, but perhaps most importantly, the dogs love him and got very excited when he showed up to walk them. Thanks again Deshawn!”

- 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
