“Danielle was great! Our pups instantly connected with her and were more well behaved for her then they are for us 😅 Truly appreciate her for helping us out last minute and the pups look forward to their next walk with her.”

“Marjorie was absolutely amazing! She is highly responsive and took the extra time to patiently befriend my skittish kitty. She also made sure to play with my other kitty during every visit and even watered my outside plants as an extra bonus. I highly recommend her!”

“Kelly was amazing and is apparently an amateur photographer. Loved the great photos and care for my fur babies! She kept me well informed and in the loop on everything going on at home while I was away. I will definitely rebook for my next trip!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs of all sizes and have 6 years of experience making sure pets stay happy and healthy while their owners are away. I have a ton of energy for long walks, park trips, and playing fetch for high-energy dogs, but I also can be calm and relaxed for senior dogs. Because I study at home, my schedule is very flexible, which is perfect for house-sitting! I can spend the majority of my day at your home, ensuring your pet is never left alone for long periods. I’m available for overnight stays during the week and on weekends, and I make it a priority to stick to your pet's specific walking and feeding routine so their day feels totally normal while you're away. I take the responsibility of staying in your home very seriously. I am extremely diligent about home security—always double-checking that doors and windows are locked and that your pet is secure before I step out. I pride myself on leaving your home exactly as I found it (or cleaner!). I’m also a very frequent communicator; I love sending daily photo updates and quick 'check-ins' so you never have to wonder how things are going.

“Alex, It was so nice to know someone who like’s to spend time with dogs was checking on ours. I am hoping you are interested in helping us out again. I don’t know the dates yet but will be for a weekend in Oct. I will get back to you. I am also trying to figure out how to send you a tip. I am not so good at this tech stuff. Thanks again, Tina”

About: My first pets were 2 rats. I took care of them exclusively, bathed them, fed and cleaned up after them. The family cat Simba was mainly my responsibility with occasional help from family, and I would take care of our family dog Bentley when I was home for summers from college. I've helped care for several other animals when babysitting children, and occasionally dog sat overnight for other families over a 3 day weekend period. I've also loved my time volunteering at the local dog shelter where I walk, clean up after, and play with all the dogs up for adoption until they find their forever families. Also enjoyed a 6 week program at a dog shelter in Athens, Greece in 2024! I’m in town for the next six weeks with open availability! I’d love to work as much as possible and give your fur baby anything they might need. I care for all pets as if they were my own, making sure they have all the attention and care they need and then some.
“Karen has been a real lifesaver! She has helped out on several occasions (with very short notice) to check on my two dogs and cat. I really appreciate her and my beasts look forward to seeing her again soon!!”

“Isabel was a life-saver! We booked very last minute, but she took great care of our pups while we were out of town. She followed our instructions perfectly and the dogs seemed very happy with her. Highly recommend!!”

“Isabella took wonderful care of our Lab and Pomeranian. She was reliable, caring, and kept us updated while we were away. She was also able to help us on short notice, which we were incredibly grateful for. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such good hands. We would definitely book with her again! 🐾”

“This was our first time to meet Lily. She dropped in on our cat daily for 9 days and came prior to our trip to meet him. Each time she was punctual, pleasant, and professional. She responded quickly as I had questions, and left us a daily photo! He was a happy and well-cared-for boy when we got home. We’ll definitely reach out to Lily again when we travel. Thanks so much!”

“Zachary checked in our kitties while we’re were away - even went over an extra time when the automatic feeder wasn’t connecting to the app anymore. Very responsive and caring.”

About: I'm passionate about providing loving, reliable care for your furry family members. With extensive pet experience, I understand that every animal has unique needs and can accommodate to their nature. I am currently working remotely part time, so my schedule is very open and flexible and I am looking to be more active in pockets of my free time. I look forward to cater to your needs. Personally in my home, my dog has the house to himself. But I value whichever approach you follow for your comfort and pet's safety and will comply with instruction.
About: I have been house sitting for 25 years along with house cleaning. Since I have retired from cleaning houses I now have more time to house sit. I have always loved animals and they love me dearly. All the dogs and cats are always so loving and I love to spend that with them. I follow the instructions of the owner. I make sure that your fur babies take the medicine required and eat when they are suppose to. I also take the dogs for walk unless you just let them out back in the fenced back yard.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Broad Run. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
