I have had a lot of different animals in my life, currently I have 4 cats and a dog. All of my pets have been loved as if they were family. About: I’ve cared for and trained my own dogs over the years, so I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your furry family member. I’m home throughout the day, which means your pup will get plenty of attention, frequent potty breaks, playtime, and daily walks. I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, crate routines, and any house rules you use at home. My goal is to make their stay feel comfortable, safe, and as much like home as possible! I’m a stay-at-home mom, so I’m able to spend lots of time with the dogs in my care rather than leaving them alone for long periods. We have a fenced yard for supervised play and potty breaks, and I can provide at least one walk each day along with plenty of playtime and attention. I know leaving your dog with someone new can be nerve-racking, especially the first time, so I’m also happy to send pictures and updates throughout their stay. ❤️ Every dog is different, and I’m happy to learn their routine, personality, favorite things, and little quirks so they can feel right at home while they’re here. I have a fenced yard and will play in the yard with them. I will do prioritize comfort and brain stimulation by allowing for a lot of playtime and walks if your dog allows.

About: I’ve been dog sitting and caring for pets for years throughout my town and surrounding areas, and animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have 2,500+ hours of hands-on small animal experience through pet sitting, dog boarding, training, and veterinary work. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including pets who need medications or a little extra patience and attention. I truly love getting to know each pet and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’ll always follow your pet’s routine and care instructions closely and keep you updated with pictures along the way! I have a structured college schedule, but I make sure to plan my time so I can give pets the attention and care they need. My busiest days are Tuesday and Thursday, with classes in the late morning and afternoon, while Monday and Friday are much more flexible. I also have some classes on Wednesday morning. Because of my schedule, I’m able to fit pet care into my routine through morning visits, afternoon breaks, and evening care. I’m comfortable planning ahead for walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins around my classes. I’m responsible, organized, and used to balancing a busy academic schedule, so I’ll make sure your pet’s needs are a priority throughout the week! When I care for your pet in your home, I make sure they can stay comfortable in the environment they know best. I follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including meals, walks, playtime, litter box care, medications, and plenty of attention and companionship. I’m respectful of your home and always follow your instructions carefully. I’ll take the time to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’m also happy to send regular updates and pictures so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is doing well.

About: I have grown up with animals of all kinds, plus have years of pet sitting experience for friends & family, even interned at the Dickerson Park Zoo for a summer! Im just new to Rover! I love animals, of all kinds and sizes! I can’t wait to meet you & your pet or pets! I have a pretty flexible schedule, I take care of my own pets daily along with running errands and other daily activities. Pets have always been a big part of my daily life! I unfortunately can’t do boarding but I will gladly stay at your home to make your babies as comfortable as possible! Meeting before you leave allows us to go over their normal routines, feeding, what they love to play. I will gladly dance or sing for your dog to get them to sing, tell me all about your pets silly quirks! Honestly, with my pets weird habits or quirks, nothing phases me anymore! I will not ever judge you for making up a dance just to get your pet to eat.

“Mickayla is absolutely fantastic. She clearly takes her responsibility very seriously. From the very first meeting to get the low down before her first care day through the actual visits while we were gone, Mickayla was very communicative and kept us in the loop with all pet related goings on. We received lots of fabulous pictures of our kitties and the one kitty that is the most hesitant around new people was coming all the way up to Mickayla for pets on their first meet. Animals know good people! Best of all, we had complete peace of mind while away from our pets. I highly recommend Mickayla!”

About: My husband WFH while I love on pets full time! We have fostered through rescue organizations for 6 years now, always a rewarding experience! We used to do Rover full time in Kansas City KS, 2022-2024 before moving to our current house in MO. I helped raise 4 tiny puppies and found them furever homes. We have hosted up to 11 dogs at once utilizing 3 sections of the house as play group areas and rotation outside every couple hours. We recently fostered a puppy, Millie, who turned out to have a terminal life threatening illness. We adopted her and cared for her until her time to go was up. We also have a 6 year old dog that is now epileptic and on daily seizure meds. We have experience with all ages and medical conditions of life. As for training, I taught my first dog how to use buttons to communicate, crate train, and the regular dog commands. This is my full time job, my life's purpose, all thanks to my supportive husband who works from home. Every dog deserves the devotional and loyal love they give so freely! I am here to give back to them all the love they share and more. Through life I have learned that Safety and Trust are key to every relationship and home environment. Before integrating the dogs together, it is imperative I spend intentional time with the new dog to help it adjust to its new environment or to my new presence.

About: I currently have two dogs of my own and they’re a big part of our family. Most of my experience comes from caring for my own pets. One of which has Addison’s Disease and requires special medication, so daily medication is something I would be comfortable assisting with when caring for other’s pets. I also have several years of experience with house sitting and drop ins for our family members pets. I absolutely love animals and would love to help others by making sure their pets are loved and taken care of while owners are away from home. I currently working full time Mon-Fri but I do have free time in the morning, during my lunch hour, and evenings are free. If morning care is needed it would be prior to 7:00am, my lunch break is around 11:00 each week day, and I’m available after 4:30 during the work week. Weekends are open so I can be more flexible. I don’t offer care to other’s pets in my home but I am happy to come to you! I will take care of your pet where they are most comfortable making the experience less stressful.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
